The neighborhood:

Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park is the signature outing here, known for clear-water snorkeling, kayaking, and history. Ho'okena Beach Park is another favorite for a relaxed beach day. Plan on driving for dining and supplies, then come home for the kind of sunset and surf soundtrack that makes a South Kona stay feel wonderfully removed from the rush.

Getting around:
Kona International Airport is roughly 35 to 45 minutes away along the scenic Kona Coast. A rental car is recommended for exploring local coffee farms, shops, dining, and beaches. Kealakekua Bay and nearby snorkeling spots are close by, while most other South Kona destinations require a drive. Parking is available on site for this home.
