Kahana is a smaller West Maui community where an oceanfront address can still feel relaxed. From here, local shops and casual food are close by, while S-Turns Beach is less than a mile south for a sand-and-surf stop. Drive north for Kapalua's bays and golf, or south to Kaʻanapali when you want more activity. The waterfront is particularly rewarding at sunset, and whale watching can be a seasonal bonus. It is a good match for travelers looking for a quieter base between two busier resort areas.

Getting around:
Kahului Airport (OGG) is about 40 to 45 minutes from the Lahaina area along Maui's west side. A rental car is recommended for beaches, shopping, and dining along the coast, including Kaanapali and Kapalua. Nearby beaches may be just minutes away, but most destinations require driving. Parking is typically available in designated lots, though popular beaches and restaurants can fill up.
