As the largest town on the island of Maui, Lahaina offers lots of amenities, restaurants, and interesting architecture. The town runs along the western coast of the island, offering an amazing beachfront vibe.
Lahaina also features an interesting history - in the early 1800s, it was once the capital city of the Kingdom of Hawaii. The ancient name of Lahaina was Lele, which means “restless sun,” after the only 13 inches of rain per year the city gets during the rainy season.
Things To Do in Lahaina, HI
Aside from soaking in the tropical sun and swimming in the balmy Pacific Ocean, Lahaina offers an array of amazing activities. Go on a whale watching tour from Lahaina Harbor - the channel off of the coast is one of the best places in the world to spot humpback whales during the winter months.
