The view of the park and adjacent woods was nice. We did not encounter any of the pest problems some other reviews mentioned except for one stink bug that made his way in (we got him out.) The kitchen has pretty much everything you need for cooking meals (not food, obviously, nor salt, pepper, etc...) and a dishwasher for when you've gone through everything.
Other reviewers have suggested that the villa could a good coat of paint. I'll agree, though it didn't impact our ability to use the place.
One thing I wasn't comfortable with was the no-password router. I would have preferred the added measure of security of having to use a password (so anyone walking by couldn't access the router.) For sensitive stuff, we just used our phones on 4G. The only other "problem" was that the mattresses were much softer than we're used to. That's not a complaint though, because everybody has different preferences for mattress firmness.
In all, we found it to be a nice place with easy access to the beach and the "Kiawah Island Parkway" and nice views of the "human" wildlife playing in Night Heron Park.
Thank you for your feedback! We will be working on minor repairs and updates, such as painting, at the home in the coming months.

This place did not live up to its billing. It needs a good deep cleaning and refreshing inside and out, and it needs to provide the little things that should not have to be asked for. For example, extra pillows, but no extra pillow cases; coffee maker but no filters; a vacuum but no hair dryer; lamps, but none bright enough to read by.
We appreciate your feedback, Maureen! We have ordered hair dryers and apologize they were missing for your stay. Please do not hesitate to reach out so we can correct these things for you. Thank you!

Enjoy your coffee or tea on either one of the back decks (one is screened in)!! The view is gorgeous as the unit overlooks Night Heron Park!! Being on end, makes it also more peaceful and quiet. The unit also is a quick walk to the beach!! I gave it 3 stars as the inside needs updating (Paint & Moldings) and better cleaning.
Hi Amy, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed this home's beautiful location! We appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement, and we'll pass your suggestions to the owner for consideration. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

This house was in a great location, only complaints were the bugs & cleanliness. You can tell this property hasn't been pressure washed on the outside in years & the inside needed a good sweep & mop. I've lived in the beach for years in the past so I understand the palmetto bugs but got the feeling pest control hadn't been there in some time.
Kaitlyn, thank you for providing us with your feedback on your stay. We apologize for the state of the home on your arrival and the details that were amiss. We understand our cleaning at this home needs work and we will make sure this is addressed by local management and housekeeping. We are glad you enjoyed the home and we hope to get another chance to impress you in the future!

Last minute trip with no real guidance on how to pick a location on Kiawah Island and boy did we luck out! Perfect 5 minute walk to the beach access! Easy check in, nice parking, perfect location overall! Dog friendly made it even nicer—Will definitely book again in this complex!

There is a ant, spider, and cockroach issue with this property. We were unable to dine at the dinning table because of it. There was a constant stream of dead ants that would appear within minutes of removal. The TVs did not work and were outdated to the point streaming was not an option. The Wi-Fi, refrigerator, and dryer are also finicky. The only saving factor was the location.
Hi, Erin! The home has been treated for pests, and we have verified the TVs, refrigerator, and WiFi are working. Thank you!

Spacious and in a great spot located close to the park with a short walk to the beach. Plenty of kitchen utensils and pots/pans for the stay. Beds were comfortable and AC worked great. Enjoyed the stay and would stay again.

Beautiful villa with expansive screened in porch overlooking the woods. Nicely decorated and cozy. Easy walk to beach; would stay there again!

Went to Kiawah for the first time for a long week on vacation during quarantine. The plan was to work from "home" and enjoy the beach in the afternoon/evenings. Kiawah itself was amazing, and the beach was fantastic.
The apartment itself was ok. Kitchen was good. Furniture was pretty outdated and carpet in second bedroom had a ton of stains. Bathrooms were ok.
The two big issues we had were roaches (palmetto bugs) and the wifi. Throughout the week, we killed about 8-10 fairly large "palmetto bugs" aka roaches. I get that they are native to the area and only natural pest repellent is used, but there were still a lot in the unit. COVID also prevented pest control for coming during our actual stay, which is understandable. We kept all doors and windows closed yet seemed to find at least one or two every day (or middle of the night!) that were fairly large in size.
Additionally the wifi didn't work. There was a router to "connect" to, but there was no connection from the router to the internet, so therefore would never work. Hopefully this can be sorted in the future. Fortunately, since we needed it for work, we were able to pay for and connect to an xfinity wifi hotspot. Vacasa did eventually reimburse us after our stay.
Probably the most disappointing part was the service from Vacasa at the beginning. I initially reached out to them upon arrival about the wifi. The said the property manager would be following up (this was on Sunday). I never heard back and followed up multiple times. They kept saying they did not see a ticket for the issue, or to try "turning the router on and off". I didnt get a call from the property manager until Friday, five days after check in and a day and a half before our departure. He said he would look at the wifi issue. I later had to call him back to follow up and he said the wifi was working fine. The only issue was, he was at the location of the second half of our stay (we booked a differently location), not the place we were currently in. He then said he would reimburse us, and then some, for the wifi, which was nice. But overall, response time and general service from Vacasa left a lot to be desired. We still enjoyed the first part of our stay, but felt future guests would want to be aware of these things.
Tommy, thank you for your review. We apologize for the issues you experienced regarding the palmetto bugs and the internet. The internet issue has been addressed by our local manager. Thank you for being accommodating and understanding. As for the palmetto bugs, these are native to the area and are especially prominent during this time of the year. We have informed the local manager about your concerns so they can set up further pest control. We sincerely apologize for your disappointment with our services. We strive to provide our guests with efficient resolutions and friendly service. Currently, our field staff is limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, thus leading to delays in response time. We sincerely apologize and hope to have the opportunity to impress you in the future!

Loved the location of this house! The closeness to the park/disc golf and ease of access to the beach was great. The layout of the house was awesome too with the open plan kitchen and living room. We would have loved to have spent more time on the porch and deck but they weren’t cleaned or taken care of (dog hair on furniture, leaves/pollen/dirt covering every surface).
We had a few other noteworthy issues too. The WiFi, while not password protected, doesn’t access the internet so you can connect but can’t access anything. The beds are both full beds which should be included in the description. They are also in desperate need of an upgrade. If you have a bad back that requires good support, choose another place. The beds are extremely soft and squeak any time you move.
Overall, the house was mostly clean but there was black and gray dog hair everywhere especially the couch and sheets. We understand it is a pet friendly place but I assumed the additional pet fee is because it takes more time to clean it. It’s apparent that some areas of the home hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The vacuum works great so we vacuumed the couch and the dryer which was full of pet hair so we could rewash our sheets. Once we got the place clean, we really enjoyed our stay.
Thanks for your review, Tommy! The internet issue has been addressed by our local manager, and we would have been happy to assist you with this during your stay had we been notified. We have advised the owner of your concerns regarding the beds and will address the cleaning issues with housekeeping. We hope to see you again!

Kiawah island is not only for golfers. This villa is private and only an easy 4 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute drive to the Salty dog now on Seabrook. Comfortable and clean and vacasa is the best management team in my opinion.

The unit was very nicely appointed and supplied with starter basics in kitchen and bathrooms. The deck was great. Although no beach view, we could see a lake and lobely woods and field. Only a 5 min walk to the beach through a quiet complex and across a bridge over a lovely pond.

This rental unit is very close to the Heron Park, and actually looks over the park from the deck and the inside of the unit. This unit was more spacious than others that we have stayed in due to the floor plan. It also had a back deck overlooking the park and a screened in porch with a small couch and chairs. Both bedrooms are basically the same size as are the bathrooms. The unit is very close to the entrance, which is a good thing travel wise, and is only 5-7 minutes from the beach.

We stayed at Parkside Villa during a warm spell in November, which also saw some rain and smoke from the Smoky Mountain fires. The stay was fantastic - the villa is small, but the high ceilings make it feel spacious, and the beach was an easy walk. Beachwalker Rentals were fantastic - this was an easy turn-key experience. Would definitely stay here again.

Had a wonderful stay! Loved the gorgeous decor, layout, vaulted ceiling and nice kitchen and baths. The unit had a very private feeling location with a pretty view of a Lagoon on one side and a open park area on the other. It was super clean and Beachwalker was great! I would definitely recommend this property

Enjoyed staying close to the Night Heron Park and not a bad walk to beach. I would stay in this Villa again.

Overall a great time. Both beds are very stiff. Beachwalker Rentals was very responsive to an issue we had on arrival. Great location!
