If you don't like old fashioned this is not the place for you. Honestly for us it was truly an amazing time. I'm definitely an old soul at heart. Yet even my kids loved it. The cabin has such beautiful memories and history. I come from a broken home and taking our kids up there was amazing. The cabin is small but my boys slept everywhere. It was cold the first night but we were able to set the right temperature on the thermostat. Everything was super clean. Well directions to everything. Very good hospitality even though everything was through the phone it felt like having the people right there. The cabin is close to town so there's a lot to do. We saw a bunch of turkeys I believe and some deer. My two year old loved it. It was just a great time to relax and be stress free. We ate cake for my son's birthday and stayed up and watched movies. Played hide and seek as well. It was amazing I definitely recommend it, even if it's just for a weekend to get away from your daily life routine. The cabin has everything you need to feel comfortable. We plan on going back soon.

I love the whole house and the kitchen because it had dishes in it and a stove fridge and everything a kitchen has pots pans and all that stuff

This place is very cozy and unique. You really feel the grandmas cabin vibe. Unfortunately, it was not quite as clean as I’d hoped - it appeared that not all of the blankets on the beds had been washed. Everything else was great.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Caroline, we're glad you enjoyed the home. While we acknowledge that beds will not suit everyone's specific preferences, we regret that it was not suitable for your party. We launder all linens between each guest, and we regret any discomfort you may have had. We are happy to promptly address issues as they arise and encourage our guests to call our 24-hour Guest Services line to provide our local staff the opportunity to address any concerns. We value your communication, and hope we have another opportunity to better impress you in the future!

Such a cute house! You feel secluded but you are still close to Estes and Rocky. We could hear elk constantly and saw a lot of turkey and deer and a bobcat. The house is full of family pictures and memories, reminding us of our own grandmother. So we played one of our grandma's favorite card games, Pinochle, in her honor. The house was clean and in good condition, although finding outlets and figuring out the lights was a little difficult. But we were able to eat out one night and then grill burgers the next night, staying in and enjoying each other's company. We will likely return! Thank you!

Poorly maintained and outdated cabin from top to bottom. This home is in need of interior and exterior repairs and painting, upgrades (or at least repairs) to appliances, beds, doors, exterior furniture, rugs, kitchen dinnerware, and more.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Daniel, we regret to hear that your time with us was less than satisfactory. Please know that your feedback is essential, and we have passed your comments along to our local manager, who will work with the homeowner to make any updates. We hope that the compensation you received for these issues has helped to alleviate some of the stress caused and we truly hope to have the opportunity to impress you in the future.

The description of this cabin is spot on - it is like staying at grandma’s cabin. It was cozy, quiet, and just the right amount of adventure for our family with young children.

This place is so old half the lights don’t work, the water is well water and comes out gray with a lot of sedement and the beds are horrible the refig sounds like there is something stuck in the fan and runs all night so bring ear plugs would never stay the again!
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Gary. We're sorry for the disappointing experience during your visit and we apologize for the maintenance and cleanliness issues you endured. Please know, our local team is available to assist if you encounter any unpleasantries during your visit, and we would have been happy to address these issues had we been aware. Grandma's house was everything you would want in a quiet little cabin. Location to downtown Estes Park and RMNP (about 10 minutes to one of the main entrances) was absolutely perfect! It was great to be able to stay out of the crowds that fill downtown Estes Park. Cabin was clean and well stocked. Sure, a bit outdated but still very comfortable and cozy. A great place to stay while exploring the beauty of RMNP!!!

The cabin was awesome and clean! We saw elk walk by the first night. Mama's, baby's and all around 25. Was amazing!! The views of lake Estes & surrounding Peaks were stunning. Definitely do this again. Thank you 👍😀

Everything so perfect and cozy (makes you feel like your in grandma's house) expect the main door and bedroom doors. They really need to fix it. it doesn't look you're secure.

Very nice cozy isolated cabin. Place is great if you need a break from busy schedule to relax. It gets very quiet at night and there are wild animals which visit so I would recommend staying indoors after evening. If its snowing make sure the car is 4*4 or AWD as other cars wont make it to the top where cabin is located.

Grandma's cabin is simple, comfortable, with beautiful property to explore. It was fun to watch the turkey parade and the mule deer gatherings out the windows. Thank you to Grandma's family for sharing this beautiful home with us. We hope you can have a great family gathering next year!

Can’t say we loved anything about this place, mouse droppings everywhere, bedrooms smaller than most closets, very old beds and outdated furnishings notes on the bathroom wall says limit water use and ran out of hot water . Pictures don’t do this place justice. Will not stay here again or recommend to anyone else.
Manager response:
Michael, we are very sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at our home. We wish these issues were reported to us during your stay as we would have been able to assist you. Small house. Small bedrooms. Great meeting room. Very homey. Close to town but far enough away so it was very quiet. Loved our time there
Henry S. Aug 2021
We had a lot of fun! The accommodations were just what we expected and we will be back. We especially love the deck in the mornings and evenings, it was very peaceful.
Nat N. Jul 2021
We had very good stay at this place. We loved the surroundings - its on a small hill overlooking the lake and mountains; yet it is very accessible to the town shopping and entrance to RMNP
Laurie L. Jun 2021
Good location; quiet; wildlife, However, the place needed a thorough cleaning and the sink kept backing up. Also disappointed that there was not a dishwasher, washer or dryer for what we paid for the place.

Loved the house and property kids were able to sled right outside..rooms were a little small and the heater worked but only seemed to heat the top floor but was still a comfy home, would definitely recommend
Manager response:
We appreciate your feedback and apologize if the heater gave you any trouble. We have provided space heaters for the downstairs to help warm it. Thank you, Manuel!

Clean, close to town but secluded
Lynsey K. Aug 2020
The land is great! Secluded and quiet, a great place for kids to roam! The house is quaint and adequate until the lights go out. Brazen mice and possibly rats (dropping size) leave you sleeping with one eye open and ears at full alert.
Angela B. Jun 2020
We loved this cabin so much. Not too far away from town and it was very quiet as well. So comfy and cozy just like spending the night with my grandma just gives you a sense of being at home definitely will be back!
Janice W. Sep 2019
Perfect for people wanting some remoteness yet convenience to Estes Park. The vintage furniture and family pictures were perfect for this space.
James C. Jul 2019
The lot was beautiful and isolated. Views were great.
Jacob G. Mar 2019
When we first arrived, we thought it was a bit smaller than it appeared on the website. BUT, after having stayed there for a full week I can say all four of us loved it! The views were amazing, the town (only 5 minutes away) was so close but you would never know, and the property had many places for seating both inside and out. There were picknick tables and a tire swing, gas grill, two porches with great views, and the gas heater worked great (almost too great) even in 15 degree weather. (Make sure not to fiddle with the actual gas heater, just use the thermostat on the wall! - learned that the hard way.) The house is very old, bedrooms are small, but could easily handle four or five adults comfortably. In addition, when faced with white-out conditions, the property owner arrived without prompting to periodically plow the road so that we would not be stuck. Finally, I have never been so mistified by scenery and the closeness with wildlife that this property lent to us. At one point, three of us were standing outside making all kinds of loud noises, yet, when we turned around, a family of elk were within 20 yards of us. I have never seen anything like it. They were calm and collected, and when they traversed across the snow-laden yard, they bounced in such a spectacular way. I fully recommend this mountain getaway.

While we were at the cabin we got to experience two seasons. One day was fall, 60 degrees and sunny while the other day was 25 with 8" of snow! The cabin is quaint with my factor features being the fireplace, deck, picnic area and voted from the living room. All in all a great stay!
Debbi S. Oct 2018
From the retro look of the cabin to the beautiful sunrises from the deck, we loved every second of our visit!!! We will come back!!
