The view from the unit was amazing. The unit is dated which was expected, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only issue was with the garbage. There were no directions on how to handle the trash and we could not find the recycle bin. Plus there were no extra trash bags.
Thank you, James, for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure hosting you and your family. We are sorry for any issues or miscommunication regarding the recycle bin. Our 24/7 guest service line is available for any housekeeping, amenity, or maintenance needs. We hope to host you again!

I am giving this a three star instead of 5 only because the house itself has maintenance issues which I plan to discuss with Vacasa. However, the view is a 5++++. It's absolutely amazing. You are directly across from the Seattle skyline. At night the colors are like Disneyland. It is beautiful. The water is full of sea creatures and the boat traffic (sailboats and ferries) are constantly in view to watch.
Hello Debra, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to host you again soon.

Location, location, location. This house is in a great location. The views are unbeatable. The sound of the waves put you to sleep.
Our stay was in the upper home. The home is a bit "dated" but super clean. We will definitely be back!
If you or family members have mobility issues, this home is not for you.

This vacation spot is all about the views. Look out large, east facing windows towards Seattle, ferries, sunrise, moonrise and wildlife that call the Puget Sound home. Upper level was quiet. Walk to small parks. Easy drive to Winslow or Lynwood Center, Poulsbo and ferries. Each of the 2 units can park 1 car. Clean. Kitchen a bit lacking if that’s important to you. Would stay here again!

Oh boy, where do I begin. I know that long reviews can be overwhelming, but bear with me. This is a wild ride.
Before I get going, I would like to say very loudly and repeatedly that Vacasa themselves did a WONDERFUL job helping us out with the many issues we had. Again, Vacasa's phone staff and their local person Keira were absolutely amazing. Good, helpful people.
To start, the photos accurately show the location, size, and layout of the house, and the view is astonishingly beautiful. At high tide, the Salish Sea comes right up to the lawn. It's maybe 20-30 feet from the upstairs balcony, and that was definitely a magical experience.
Right at the beginning, we had a lot of trouble finding the location because there were no lights highlighting the house numbers. This would be okay if our designated parking space was not filled when we arrived, or if there were any kind of signs or arrows showing you where to go. The entrances to the top and bottom units are confusing to access. (We'll come back to this later.) To the credit of the owner, it does say that you should bring a flashlight to carry with you.
The stairs down to the unit are VERY rickety, the railings (which were TEEMING with literally hundreds of pillbugs, which is not their fault, but there were so, so many I had to keep sweeping them off to get a handhold.) were shaky and the combination made it really difficult to navigate in the dark. There are several spots where the wood of the stairs and the little footbridge are very soft. The location is 100% not accessible, so if you have any kind of walking disability at all, this is not for you. I mean this. You will not be able to safely get a chair or walker down.
The little deck at the bottom of the stairs is lovely. The keypad worked fine, the house is cute from outside, etc. The inside was welcoming and tidy, and again, that view. No legit, it's the most amazing view.
The kitchen is very cute and cozy, what my family and I would call a 'two butt kitchen,' because that's about how many people can fit in. That was perfect for us, as we only have two butts between us. They did provide a lot of different things, but if you're staying for more than a couple of days you will absolutely want to bring your own pans, knives, and wineglasses. There are spices, and a lot of other basic things like that. The stove and oven both work.
The bathroom is very small, and also not accessible. It was well-stocked for the most part with plenty of towels.
The bedrooms were both well-stocked with lots of extra linens and pillows. The mattresses were really hard, if that's not your thing. There was a provided box fan, which we needed to run because you could clearly hear the neighbors talking through the floor vents. It helped to drown out the sound.
There is a ceiling fan in the living room area, but we couldn't get the fan to work. There was a provided remote control that had a fan printed on it, but it didn't do anything. We suspect the batteries may be dead, but the controller is screwed shut so we couldn't test.
Okay, so, here is where things get screwy.
INFO: No info was left. Usually in Vacasa rentals, we'll find a binder with house rules, locations of safety features, local places of interest, etc. There was not one. We had to search for everything. 'House rules' are listed in the Vacasa app, but that's about it. The only informational thing we found was a recycling guide, which was helpful.
INTERNET: We picked this place because of the view (duh) and the fact that they had internet. We had to stay in touch with someone back home, and the internet would not work. At all. We tried the password they gave us, no dice. We called Vacasa just because it was something we needed for various reasons. We passed up other places for not having wifi. Anyway, they helped us troubleshoot a bit, and we discovered that they didn't have a modem. They only had a router. We went to bed irritated, but it got worse. The next day we spoke with Vacasa and they told us that they had records of repeatedly sending CenturyLink out and reaching no resolution. The owner knew this was a thing, but continued to advertise the rental as having wifi, and the listing boasted of having a Netflix account. Vacasa did give us a refund for $25/day for 'loss of amenity,' which paid for us to use our cellphone plan for data. That was nice.
TV: The TV was super irritating to figure out, and they didn't even really have basic cable. You could watch the local channels, and then a seemingly random smattering of assorted channels. No CNN, Fox, or MSNBC, but you could get RT. Don't worry, though. If you're looking for hundreds of infomercial channels, you are in luck!
SAFETY: There were exposed wires hanging out of the wall. The rickety/soft wooden stairs and bridge. MOST IMPORTANTLY, someone *walked into our unit* that was confused by the confusing access. (She was very nice, as were all the other people down there.) The door was locked, and she was able to gain access. Vacasa says that the codes are different, which means either their records are not updated, or the lock box doesn't work at all. There is no deadbolt or lock of any other kind on the door. We put chairs in front of it, and locked ourselves in the bedroom, which did thankfully have a lock.
CLEANING: None. It had not been cleaned. The linens had not been changed. There was filth around every corner on the floor in the kitchen and the bathroom, There were cobwebs in the bedroom. (No, seriously. A spider dropped on me from one of them.) The absolute best I can say is that they maybe vaccuumed. Vacasa refunded the cleaning fee, because...
BLOOD. ON. THE. WALL. Yes. Blood on the wall. We didn't see it when we first arrived because it was dark and it was kind of in shadows. The next morning (while trying to find out how to make the internet work, sigh) we found a huge dried blood spot on the wall. I know it was blood, because I had a bleeding condition for years, and that's what dried blood looks like. We took pictures, and then my husband wiped a small amount off, and it came right off. Even if it wasn't blood (it was) it means that the wall had not been cleaned.
So... yeah. We're not complainers. We are great at 'making do.' We are optimistic, fair-minded people, and we are used to staying in imperfect places. The experience is always more important to us than the location. But this was just beyond ridiculous.
We're giving it two stars exclusively because of the view, and how wonderful the local Vacasa folks were. We wanted to love this place so much.
But for real, though. That view. If they fixed up these problems, it would have been one of the nicest places we've stayed in terms of location.
We appreciate your feedback, Robin! The deck has recently been repaired, and we have retrained our housekeeping staff to meet our high cleanliness standards. Your other concerns have been taken to the owner for their consideration. Thank you!

The view was amazing but that was it. The bbq didn’t work. Couldn’t get in touch with anyone to resolve any of the issues. No TP. No garbage bags. The place was very very dirty.
Hi, Jennifer! Thank you for reaching out. We regret to hear that you ran into unexpected issues during your stay. We appreciate you bringing this to our immediate attention and apologize for the delay and inconvenience. We appreciate you notifying us so we can make sure these are addressed. I would recommend this rental. It's right on the Pudget Sound, which we loved. Only a few minutes from downtown Bainbridge and the fairy to Seattle, which was perfect for our family of 6.

This cabin has the most amazing view of the water and Seattle! Everything was clean and all appliances worked nicely. The beds were comfy and we appreciated that fans were provided. We had two areas that could use improvement. The kitchen was pretty scarce with supplies and especially paper towels/ hand towels. Also, lawn maintenance was scheduled early Saturday morning which woke everyone in the house up on our vacation weekend. I would definitely recommend but consider bringing some of your own kitchen supplies or towels. Vacasa was also amazing to work with.

The view was stunning of the Seattle skyline especially at night.

The view is spectacular. The house is perfect for 2-4. The furnishings are sparse but more than adequate. Comfortable unit with an outdoor deck.
Meghan N.May 2019
The view from the deck is amazing and made for a perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning while soaking up the sunshine. The house is quaint and cozy but spacious at the same time, and we really enjoyed our stay!
