What's nearby:
You are within walking distance of Maalaea Harbor and shops. In the harbor, try heading out on a whale-watching cruise with Pacific Whale Foundation, a snorkeling adventure with Trilogy, or a sunset cruise on the Ali'i Nui. If the kids are with you, spend a day at the Maui Ocean center which has Honu, a new humpback whale experience, and lots of interactive exhibits. Take advantage of the restaurants there such as Seascape or Beach Bum's. When you venture out, head south about 7 miles into Kihei town for local beaches such as Charley Young, amazing fish tacos at Coconut's, and the shopping at the Shops of Wailea. Just south, you'll find a four-mile stretch of beach which is a great spot for paddle boarding, walking, and watching for whales.

Guests have access to the communal pool, BBQ grill area, elevator, and beach access at Island Sands. The condo's oceanfront setting makes it easy to enjoy the shoreline and shared outdoor space.

The neighborhood:
Maalaea is Maui's small harbor community, a quieter stretch between central Maui and South Kihei. Walk to Maalaea Harbor for whale watching in season, snorkeling sails, and sunset cruises, or spend an afternoon at the Maui Ocean Center nearby. Haycraft Beach Park is close for a sandy walk, and Kihei's beach parks and casual restaurants are an easy drive south. It is a smart base for travelers who want big ocean scenery and quick access to both sides of the island without staying in the middle of resort traffic.

Getting around:
Maalaea is about a 20-minute drive from Kahului Airport. A rental car is recommended for exploring Maui, while Maalaea Harbor, nearby shops, and ocean excursions are within easy reach from the condo. On-site parking availability should be confirmed with your reservation details.
