This condo is perfect for you if you want to relax rather than partake in night life. It is a very peaceful area and does have a couple nice restaurants within walking distance. The Maui Ocean Center was one of our favorite things. But just watching whales and turtles right from the lanai was spectacular. We walked the beach to the east of the condo a lot and felt we had our own private beach. The only reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars is that we had 4 people and one of the lanai chairs was broken and a 4th beach chair was missing. I have reached out to management so I hope they will get accommodations for a 4th person there soon.

The location is great and central to various destinations on the island. The condo was clean and well appointed including enough beach stuff for 4 people. Good ocean views and whale watching every day from the nice-sized lanai. Plenty of laundry soap and dish soap are included - enough for a week or more. The bedrooms are nice sized and provide good privacy. The ice maker in the fridge was definitely appreciated. So, why a 4 and not a 5? (1) Since there's only street parking under the bushes we had to deal with a lot of bird doo on the car. Many properties have a hose for rinsing your car; not a show stopper but would be an improvement. (2) I'm always amazed that owners/managers don't spend a little money on decent knives. The ones in the unit are horrible and cannot be sharpened. Guests who cook in the unit would really appreciate sharp or sharpenable knives and you don't have to spend that much to worry about them disappearing. (3)The location is good but the nearest beach really is too far to lug your stuff; plan to drive to the park at the end of the street. Still close enough for those long sunrise walks though so that's good. One more note on location: This can be a really windy part of Maui. The wind can really rip between Haleakala and P'u Kukui. The pool is somewhat sheltered by the building but grills and lawn can be really windy. None of these are show stoppers for me but definitely a consideration for a repeat stay.
