The shores of Lake Pend Oreille are only 200 yards away from this home - a wonderful spot for fishing, paddleboarding, and water skiing. You'll be a five-minute (three-mile) drive from downtown Sandpoint, where you can sample a few restaurants, go to the beach, or rent a boat at the marina. The surrounding mountains offer incredible hiking trails that you can trek by foot or on horseback with Mountain Horse Adventures. Come winter, the slopes of Schweitzer Mountain Resort are only 15 miles north.

I stayed at this place with my daughter and we had a great weekend. There’s lots of trails that you can walk around outside. Plus it is within a five minute drive to Sandpoint.

We loved that the beds were comfy. However, this is obviously a high turnover rental. The living room furniture was very worn. There are not a lot of dishes and silverware.

It's a great little place - good location walking distance from the water on Dover Bay. Short drive to Sandpoint. It's clean and updated. It's got one bedroom with a comfortable bed, and then a loft upstairs with additional beds. The loft has very little privacy - it's open to the main room and has uncovered windows looking out to the street. There is also an uncovered window in the shower (if you were a tall woman, you might be giving the people on the street a show!) and the walk in closet in the bedroom, which made me a little uncomfortable. Also, the front door is difficult to latch and is easily pushed open - my dog pushed it open just with his nose. If it weren't such a safe area, it would make me nervous. But it's a great place if you're a couple, or more people if you just want a bed and a shower. Overall great experience.

The only good thing I can say is they allow dogs. Skimping throughout and careless otherwise. Lowest quality everything. Trashed thriftstore quality cookware, dishes and silverware. Uncomfortable furniture, flat bed pillows, no headboards, wrong size coffee filters. Misleading review response; window coverings/privacy issues have not been resolved. Carpets are very very dirty. Allowing dogs requires additional carpet care of which this property does not prioritize. Cleaners were here at check out time! Very efficient and annoying Vacasa!

This place was great and was perfect for our extended weekend. Spacious, clean, easy to find things. The community has a great restaurant, store, walking trails and lake beach that allows dogs too. Definitely would stay again

We stayed at this VRBO for a few nights while skiing at nearby Schweitzer. The property is clean, relaxing, and easy to access. The patio is probably nice during the summer. Covered parking for one vehicle is an added plus. Unit stays warm and the fireplace works well. Management (Vacasa) was good to work with.

However, I'm knocking off a star due to a couple of disappointments. First, the propane tank on the grill was empty when we arrived (reading other reviews, I can tell this isn't the first time this has happened), which led to altered dinner plans. Management was quick to replace the propane the following day and was communicative, though. Second, the wifi connection wasn't strong enough to support Netflix/Amazon prime video on the TV (owners have DVDs there, which was a nice surprise). Third, the lack of blinds in the dining area, kitchen, bathroom, and loft isn't ideal and results in some lost privacy (other units and walkways are close). While the owner is well within their right to outfit their property as they see fit, not having blinds in these common areas is bizarre and/or cheap.

Have been vacationing in Dover for many years. It never dissappoints. The bungalow could use more bowls, a new can opener and new cookie sheet. We werent told that we would have to pay extra to use hot tub.

This home doesn't have a hot tub listed as an amenity. There is a paid facility at Dover Bay but guests must purchase a day pass for use, which is not included with the rental. The area is stunning, however this cabin needs some tlc. When we checked in the cabin was not even clean. The carpets are horribly stained. The screen porch was missing many screens. The oven was disgusting and the cabin needed a deep clean. There are no blinds or curtains on four of the front main windows, which I found weird. There was a room or closet in the bedroom that was locked, which seemed odd. The propane tank on the grill ran out on our 1st day. The TV is awful and kept shutting off. The positive was there was a newer washer and dryer. The loft is a nice feature with extra beds. The location is absolutely beautiful with lots of walking trails. The owner should really consider removing the carpet and put in laminate since it is a dog friendly cabin. Just a few minor upgrades this cabin could be amazing. I contacted Vacasa the night we checked in about the dirty cabin and they did refund me the cleaning deposit.

The Dover Bay home met all our needs plus more. It’s situated among similar homes with nearby access to the walking trails Dover Bay Resort offers. We found the mattresses on the two beds we used to be especially comfortable. Will be planning another trip to this home.

Spent 3 days/2 nights and this place was perfect for our family of five + pup! Walking trails, great food, and water sports all within a five minute walk let everyone do what they wanted when they wanted. Can’t wait to return soon!

We enjoyed the outdoors in Dover Bay and Sandpoint , although it was a wet and cold weekend. It was far more relaxing to be outside of the bungalow. Unfortunately, even without the current issues of COVID-19, our place of stay did not meet standards of cleanliness that we have become accustomed to in our travels (and we are not that picky!). The place is in need of updates. For nearly $700 for a 2 night stay, we were disappointed. We spent 3 hours after arrival cleaning the bathroom because it had grime and black hair in the tub, the bedding smelled of sweat, and a quick wipe of the floor revealed too much dirt that was unacceptable for my 10 month old to be crawling on. This gave us little faith that other areas and items in the rental were clean, so frankly, we were uncomfortable there. Other rentals in the resort have been amazing. It seems the issue is that this rental has had wear and tear with minimal investment in the upkeep. Our bad for believing that Vacasa’s advertised focus on cleanliness, especially with the current times, applied to our place of stay. This is my first review of anything good or bad.

There is a really neat long Trail to walk our dogs that goes down the creek one side crosses over and then comes back the other side takes about an hour it's beautiful.

We stayed in this property with my family. We had four children with us and all slept well. A few extra pillows would have been nice though. Dining room table was small but considering it was nice weather we could eat in the screened in porch, so this wasn't a problem for us. The water is close by and they have a small market and cafe right by the marina. Very convenient. We rented a canoe and some paddle boards from the market to float on the lake one day. They were very helpful there. The house could use a broom for sand and crumbs.
