Everything about the property is wonderful, but be mindful of the property owner. I had booked another rental for the 4th of July weekend that was cancelled last minute, which is how we ended up booking this rental. When we arrived at the rental location 5:30ish pm the door code did not work. I attempted to call the property contact (owner) and the call went straight to voice mail, I tried again twice and the same thing. Since we had already had a rental cancelled on us, I was nervous I was going to have the same issues with this location. I called Vacasa and they were extremely helpful, provided me with another code to try (which did not work) and said they would contact the owner, but would need to give him an hour to respond before they would provide a next step. Once off the phone I called the owner again and luckily the phone rang but when the call was answered I was greeted with an extremely annoyed and frustrated man who stated - "YOU'VE CALLED ME FOUR TIMES WHAT DO YOU WANT" - I was so caught off guard by his tone, and aggression - I made sure I had the correct person and explained who I was and the situation. Once he caught his breath and explained me that he was on a business call and that his maintenance person must have reset the code, he was helpful but his reaction to him not having my phone number as a contact was so over the top, it made me no longer want to rent the place from him. I felt like I was a burden to him for renting the property. It was just such an unnecessary interaction. When we entered the property the smoke alarm was chirping, I texted the owner for that to be addressed - it wasn't so we dealt with the chirping the first night before we ran into town to get a battery. Overall, the place is wonderful outside of the property owner. If he feels annoyed with renters - I'm sure the area has plenty of local property companies that would love the business.

This place was squeaky clean, had everything you would want (e.g., tons of towels! love it), and plenty of room and privacy. We loved this property, and the pond out of the back was awesome to look at and experience the calming views of the mountains, birds, and wildlife in the area. We would totally stay here again!!

Right along the northern shore, the town of Sandpoint offers visitors biking trails, hiking trails, and gorgeous scenery with a mountain backdrop. In winter, Schweitzer Mountain Resort is home to 2900 acres of skiable terrain in the Selkirk mountains. And in summer, visit both City Beach and Lakeview Park for public lake docks and gorgeous water views.

From one of our Lake Pend Oreille vacation rentals, you can sightsee easily by car, traveling along the Pend Oreille Scenic Byway or you can choose to stay close to the lake, visiting one of the region's many galleries, shops, or waterfront parks. Like the towns of Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, and Harrison to the south, Sandpoint offers hiking trails, restaurants, and a charming environment for an amazing Idaho retreat! Of course one of the best ways to explore the Lake Pend Oreille region is by boat. With miles and miles of open water, there's plenty to see, just bring your own boat, rent one, or book a charter for a tour of Buttonhook Bay, Bernard Peak, or Whiskey Rock Bay while on your Idaho vacation adventure.

Along Lake Pend Oreille, you'll also be able to spot abundant wildlife—everything from eagles to mountain goats to ospreys nesting near the water. The lake itself is home to native whitefish, char, western slope cutthroat trout and others, if you want to try your luck at fishing.

No matter how you chose to spend your time when you stay at one of our Lake Pend Oreille vacation rentals, you're sure to have fun whether it's a ski trip to Schweitzer Mountain Resort in winter or a fishing and boating getaway in summer. Come visit Idaho's biggest lake for an adventure-filled vacation surrounded by mountains, forests, and clear blue water.
