This Point West Resort oceanfront condo awaits your visit to Galveston Island! With access to a shared pool and other resort amenities such as a foosball table and a hot tub, an inviting place to call home for a couple of nights, sweeping sea views, and room for everyone, you may never want to leave. Enjoy the close proximity to the beach (roughly 400 feet) for fun in the sun. Decent stay over Labor Day weekend. Overall this unit was clean and tidy. We've stayed at numerous Pointe West condos and this one was on the lower side of available amenities. We know most of these units come with the standard stocking packages and don't expect much, but this was still your "economy" version. It was themed well and as stated, was very clean. The big balcony is great and has awesome beach views, so we spent a lot of time out there. We did have an issue with checking in as 3 of the digital entry codes did not work and we had to resort to using the lock box key after calling support. Might want to check in on that with Vacasa before arrival! Pointe West is great, and this is a good condo for the value. We will look into other units on our next trip.

Condo was great, all ammenities were great. Beach was great. Only complaint would be, that their cleaning company needs to mop the floors. Floors were filthy upon arrival. Bottoms of or feet were turning black. Nice hot good ole scrub and mop will go along way. Other then that great place and location

The condo was beautifully decorated and the view of the beach was wonderful. The condo was clean.
Next renter should take a bag of ice because the ice maker isn’t working. I reported it to management.
One red flag was that while getting a sauce pan out for cooking we found a large piece of clear broken glass in the pan. That could have been a huge injury if we didn’t see it before using it to cook!

This is a really nice condo and was perfect for our 4 person family. We did however have a few problems along the way. The dryer does not heat up and so we had to dry everything outside. Also the ice maker does not work. We read old reviews complaining and assumed that it would be fixed by now so that was frustrating. Also the back door sticks terribly making it difficult to go in and out. Lastly the communication could have been better. I really had to research online to figure out what exactly to bring and also thru Point West beach club to figure our how to get our prepaid wristbands as the instruction packet comes with them and not in the condo upon arrival.

Clubhouse was nice however units fridge filter failed and ice maker didn't work. Rooms are very nice. Fishing pier is a joke along with lazy river. I would stay again.

Location was great with unobstructed view of the ocean and walkable access to the beach. Beds are comfortable and unit seems to have new paint. Artwork and colors are pleasing for beach life.

I want to qualify my next comments by saying the Vacasa manager on duty did attempt to correct our complaints but from past experience and noted listing, we don’t expect to have to reach out for these items. Missing from the unit were pool towels, extra bath towels (we did a load of laundry for these before manager delivered), extra pillows (we purchased these and took home with us), batteries needed to replace A/C and television controls (we purchased these before manager delivered), cleaning supplies for the kitchen counter and stovetop (we purchased these and took home with us). The ice maker is still broken from previous reviews so we bought ice for the duration of the stay. A suggestion would be for the owner to note this on the reservation and provide ice cube trays. Unit needs a set of smaller drinking (juice-sized) glasses. Unit also needs a binder with useful information about the unit, resort, and area.

For extended stays we recommend visitors bring extra dishwashing and laundry soap as well as coffee, bottled water, condiments, your own beach chairs, beach towels, toys, and umbrella. A golf cart would also be useful for getting to both pools and Pointe West nature areas although we chose not to rent one because of the additional cost.

We had a quick 2 night stay here over New Years, as always Pointe West was blissfully uncrowded and beautiful. The condo is nicely decorated and the master bedroom bed was very very comfortable- we slept great! A note for improvement would be to add some more little touches : there were no spices, oil, foil, first morning coffee, etc. The master shower needed closer cleaning, and all the tv remotes need batteries (maybe have some in a drawer?) the back door is very sticky, as this happens with coastal homes so not a big deal. Just a few more ‘like home’ amenities would really make it perfect. Overall a pleasant stay!

Comfortable and clean but they still have not replaced the broken ice maker which was reported during an earlier stay at this property. If you rent this property bring your own ice. Otherwise enjoy.

This beautiful property would normally be rated a 5 as it was very clean and comfortable if it weren't for a few minor cosmetic and maintenance issues that can be easily corrected. The ice maker was not working, the electrical outlet on the counter next to the refrigerator was not working, there was no wine opener, no potholders for the oven, there were no measuring spoons, and the bottom slats on the blinds in the master bedroom were detached. Otherwise, with these fixes, I would not hesitate to rate this property as outstanding!

The home was lovely; we arrived to hear an uncomfortable noise. We contacted Vacasa and found they couldn’t tend to it until the next morning. We eventually figure out it was some water pressure on the toilet that was very loud and - every time the noise started we flushed the toilet. But the pitiful excuse from Vacasa was not acceptable. Also the ice maker was not working at all; and almost no water from refrigerator water dispenser. The rest of the stay and the apartment was truly delightful and comfortable. Thankfully the loud water pressure noise was resolved after we spent some time trying to figure out the source ourselves.

The condo was great it was just as pictured. It was very clean and had a great view. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the outdoor area was thick with mosquitos which made it hard to enjoy Being outside otherwise it was great.

My family and I had a great weekend at Sandpiper Point! It was nice and clean and we had plenty of space to live for a few days. Even with the rain we enjoyed our time there because we were able to relax on the balcony. There was one small issue: the door Knob on the door out to the balcony fell off when we closed the door. I called management but was never called back. My husband placed it back on and hopefully it’s fixed for the next family. That was minor and didn’t ruin our trip. A tip for anyone going: take mosquito repellant! After the rain there were quarter-sized mosquitos and they would swarm you as you walked to the beach. It was terrible but we were able to run back. Overall a great trip and we will be back!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this place, I think it has different owners now. It was clean and furnished well. The only complaint we had, is that the TVs did not have access to Netflix or others apps. Normally, at the beach this wouldn't be a problem but we were there during a stormy couple of days. On Saturday morning it was storming and I became concerned on how to entertain my 2 young children for the whole day bc we weren't able to access the typical movie apps. Luckily by 11 AM the weather improved and we were able to go outside. I would suggest they look into a Roku box or consider upgrading their TVs, provide a DVD player so guests can watch movies if the weather is bad. This could be a unique situation due to Covid as well and not being to go anywhere. I was disappointed at the response time, I messaged at 9:30 AM about the issue and finally received a response at 1:45 PM that day. I expected a 1-2 hour response time.

We loved getting out of town for a weekend getaway here. I love this complex of condos and this unit was clean, decorated nicely, had a great patio view of the ocean, and comfortable nights sleep.

Basic kitchen equipment and coffee pot with filters but if you plan on cooking bring your own basic ingredients like salt, pepper, oil, etc. We tried to start a load of towels as we left but there was no laundry detergent so bring your own if you need it.

Also bring your own beach chairs and beach towel as well as a wagon or something to roll them to the beach since the boardwalk is a good ways to the water.

The restaurant by the pools has really good quality seafood and dinner options too!

Would love to come back soon!
