Bay Watch 0902 is a beautiful oceanfront condo with comfortable accommodations for a weekend get-away. Loved having sliding glass doors in both of the bedrooms as well as the living room. The unit was wonderfully decorated to enhance the beachy feeling.

What day were excellent. They made you feel welcome and they were hospitable they were personable and professional. I arrived on Friday, September 2nd and I left on Monday, September 5th.

After check in went to room and door was proped open. Check in and out are cut short now.
Manager response:
We take security complaints seriously and will investigate your concerns. Our check-in and out times were adjusted for extra sanitation time during COVID and will likely remain in place while the staffing shortage affects our abilities to clean homes correctly and in a timely fashion. We apologize for the inconvenience and do hope to have a chance to impress you in the future. Thank you!

The place was cozy and very convenient

This was the first time I stayed this far North off of the strip and renting privately owned condos. The room with the 2 beds was very small and tight to have 2 beds in there. The 1 bedroom king was very nice.

Condo was nice, but housekeeping and front desk were terrible... Called several times to get things we need we waited over 24 hours.... Right front burner doesn't work called twice nobody came to fix
Manager response:
To clarify, we provide our guests with a starter kit of supplies. This includes cleaning supplies, toiletries, and paper products. Once these supplies run out it is the responsibility of our guests to provide any additional supplies throughout the remainder of their stay. Supplies are restocked before each guest. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused during your time with us.

Unit is in the North Tower which we appreciated as being a bit quieter than the others. It is the farthest from the parking garage. The view is wonderful and balcony is large. The 2nd bedroom also has a balcony with a side ocean view. Living room furniture is very comfortable.

I will start with the positives:
It is a fantastic view from several rooms. The Master bedroom has large picture windows that face the water (they need to be washed but not terrible and it's a highrise). There is a doorwall to the balcony. Beautiful sunrises in the morning. The 2nd bedroom has a doorwall/balcony as well (lock broken but it's the 9th floor so we weren't too concerned). It faces the building next door you can see the water too. It's an end unit so this is a bonus. The complex has many pools and hot tubs. It was covid but we arrived just after Myrtle Beach relaxed and opened back up. The only negative on the complex was, we weren't aware we had to bring our own tubes with us for the lazy river. So we couldn't use them (was disappointing for myself and my son). They claimed they had tubes but due to covid they weren't providing them. Yet mask weren't worn by staff on many occasions behind the front desk and people weren't wearing them inside. People were swimming in the indoor pools and hottubs without masks and sharing elevators. There was one elevator that had a sign that said 1 family per elevator with masks on but that was later taken down. So I don't understand why they wouldn't bring out the tubes. We paid a resort fee and nothing was stated that we had to bring our own.

The "Bummers" things future guests should be aware of:
1. The kitchen is not well stocked. If you want to cook at all, you should bring things from home. We are avid short-term renters for travel/vacations. This business has exploded and this condo is not up with what is currently standard with many. While every condo/str is owned by someone and either managed by the owner or managed by a company (Vacasa for this one) each can decide what they want to provide. As a possible future guest you should know that you will need to bring a lot of items from home. And the problem is that there is no list provided as to what they provide and don't. For instance, there wasn't even an Oven Mitt. There is an oven. We were there for a week (7 days/nights). We cooked 4 days and would carryout the other 3. One of the reasons people rent STRs is for the convenience of a kitchen. There was 1 kitchen towel. The dishwasher didn't work well so we had to wash everything mostly by hand (and dry with 1 kitchen towel. I tried to use the towel to pull the pan out of the oven but because it was one and no mitt, I burned my hand. So be careful or bring your own. Bring extra kitchen towels and an oven mitt or 2.
2. The place sleeps 8 on the listing. There was 3 of us and barely enough dishes. There are 4 dinner/meal plates. There's some bowls and small saucer type plates but for a meal there is only 4 so not sure how they can have 8 people eat together. Had my daughter and stepmom come who often travel with us, we would have had to either take turns eating and washing the plates or use disposal but when you want a nice dinner, who wants to eat a steak or tenderloin on styrofoam.
3. The jetted tub was not working. We arrived Saturday night after 13 hours in the car and I just wanted to relax in a hot jetted tub. I filled it up, turned on the jets and the motor started but nothing happened. So that was disappointing. I called the next day and front desk was extremely nice. But it took them 7 trips over the course of 3 days and replaced a part (I believe the pump was broken) and then I was able to use it for the end of the trip. But again, it was constant people during covid coming in to the condo to fix something that should have been checked during inspection before turning the condo over. It obviously wasn't.
4. The was by far the worst part. CONSTRUCTION. Starting Monday morning before 9am there was a loud drilling/jack hammer that went from just before 9am until 5pm with a lunch break at Noon. This continued again starting Tuesday at 852am and was constant. After several hours and my husband said we may have to go home (I was sick with a headache) I called Vacasa. The front desk on Monday said there were many different managements and they didn't know who was doing the construction (which was right above us). It had finally stopped and I hadn't realized I was clenching my body from it.
5. Checkout - there isn't a checkout list on the fridge like many STRs. But there are expectations. So the Vacasa email says start dishwasher. I called the front desk (as I didn't have my contract accessible) and they said: take garbage out to blue bins on the floor, strip beds, put all the towels in 1 location in the bathroom, start dishwasher. I had already wiped the stove, microwave, fridge, wiped out the inside of the refrigerator. There was no cleaning supplies provided what so ever but I did bring some antibacterial wipes and I wiped things down. All done before 7am as we wanted to get on the road.

Feeback with Vacasa: The woman I spoke with the day before our trip with very sweet when I called for help with packing. Her motto was if you need it bring it. She couldn't see anything as to what was supplied (and now I know why, there was just the very bare minimum). I premade several meals that just needed to go in the oven. I brought my own seasonings as there isn't even salt or pepper.

But when I called for help with the noise that Vacasa rep wasn't apologetic. She said something but because it was so loud I couldn't even hear. I did record the drilling because it was Not vacation. It was awful. Vacasa sent a request for feedback on our trip so I let them know. They never followed up. This was our first Vacasa booking. We have used several other platforms without any issues. I know this is someone's business and I try to leave all 5 stars as life isn't perfect. But this was ridiculous and so disappointing. I would recommend the owner of the condo pick up a few more items for the kitchen and replace the old ones.

I will close to say that I appreciated the guest who mentioned the King bed being a little firm. I like a soft bed too and because of her feedback (thank you to you) we brought a thick foam mattress pad/cover and it was great. It did not feel too firm at all with the pad. This feedback is not meant to ruin someone's business but a heads up for future guests. If you are driving and can bring a bunch of things with you, this place may work. I was frustrated with that and with covid I didn't want to spend a bunch of time running around a city I didn't know looking for things that we expected to be in the condo. Overall I give a 1 star for communication, a 5 star for the view, a 3 star for the condition/upkeep. It is cute and decorated as pictured but it is older. Maybe it was a hotel or timeshare at one point? Not sure. It definitely has an identity crisis. It's called Baywatch, the condo is individually owned but managed by Vacasa, it's part of Oceana resorts and either Wyndam owns or used to own it. There was no communication with the owner which makes it tough because management doesn't know what is in the condo to help new guests. I recommend having a complete list of what is in there and emailing to guests before arrival so that they can be prepared. I almost gave it 2 stars, we almost left. We didn't because the noise stopped and where would we go. Hard to find something else last minute, pack everything up and move. Didn't want to disappoint our son. Just want potential future guests to be aware before booking and maybe Vacasa will take note and give guidance.

We’ve stayed with bay Watch resort before, but this room exceeded our expectations! The only issue was the beds where a little hard, but other than that it was a great stay and I will be returning.
