Private Riverfront Retreat with Foosball & Firepit - Overlooks Nature Preserve

Retreat into the natural wonders of Midcoast Maine at this three-bedroom Waldoboro home, a scenic woodland escape with a gorgeous riverfront position, a game room with a foosball table, and an outdoor patio with a private firepit.

Beautifully secluded by a grouping of evergreen trees, this two-level home overlooks a nature preserve and enjoys 300 feet of frontage on an inlet of Broad Cove. You'll be within kayaking distance of Muscongus Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, five miles south of shops and restaurants on Main Street in Waldoboro, and 21 miles west of the charming working port of Rockland.

Step inside to find a spacious living area with hardwood floors, partial air conditioning, and furnishings that are simple and comfortable. Come home from an afternoon walk to choose a novel from the bookshelves, recline on the soft leather sofa, and use the WiFi to investigate the tides and kayaking conditions.

Begin each morning by preparing pancakes, eggs, and toast in the well-equipped kitchen, where you'll find generous cabinet space, a French press and a blender for your specialty coffee and smoothies, and even a dishwasher to take care of the clean-up. Sit down with your loved ones at the dining room table for six before heading outside to explore the Midcoast.

Choose a spot to launch your kayak on the 300-foot tidal riverfront, and spend the morning paddling between islands in Muscongus Bay. Come home to enjoy local lobsters on the gas grill, cold drinks at the patio table, and S'mores roasted around the firepit. Back inside, you can catch a movie on the flatscreen TV with basic cable, or head downstairs for a foosball tournament in the basement game room.

With three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, Midcoast Serenity will accommodate as many as six guests. The bedrooms are cozy and well-lit, offering one California king-size bed, one queen-size bed, and one double bed, respectively. Additional amenities include a tub/shower combination in each of the two bathrooms, as well as three more TVs for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks to its wonderfully private and natural setting, this Waldoboro home is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and travelers in search of rest and relaxation. Gaze out of your windows to see the tidal river and the neighboring nature preserve, and take short drives into Waldoboro to stroll along Main Street and sit down for meals at the legendary Moody's Diner.

When you're not exploring Broad Cove and Muscongus Bay, you'll be just 21 miles from the beloved restaurants and scenic breakwater in downtown Rockland. Grab a delicious breakfast at the Home Kitchen Cafe, drive an additional 10 miles north to soak in the incredible coastal views at Camden Hills State Park, and marvel at the nearby harbors of Camden and Rockport at sunset.

The house is very cozy, with all the utilities we need. In addition to an incredible patio where we can spend time outdoors enjoying nature.

Loved the privacy and the location. Wonderful firepit with a view.

The location was great, secluded, peaceful and quiet. The house was overall alright, however it had numerous issues that simply took away. It would be a 5/5 star if the following issues were fixed:

* There are no house numbers. The tiny "Vacasa" sign was the only clue we were in the right place. We had to pull up the listing to see the picture to confirm we were there.
* The front steps were not attached to the house, with a wide gap to step over between them and the front door.
* The front storm door does not have a handle, only a hole to poke your finger in to pull the door open.
* There is a hole in the wall over the stove with wires behind it.
* The door latch mechanism is missing on the 1st bedroom, and the door knobs are barely attached.
* The shower in the master bathroom only provides cold water because the knob jams up before you can choose hot.
* The water pressure varies significantly minute to minute, making it difficult to select a comfortable and consistent temperature in the shower that does work.
* There are many broken chairs inside and outside the house.
* The bed frame in the 1st bedroom is breaking where the foot board attaches to the side rails.
* The refrigerator handle is loose.
* There are only 3 chairs in the dining room, and no others in the house that can be brought in.
* The white toaster does not toast, even on maximum (it only goes down for a little while before popping up).
* Key locker on side of house was found open with keys accessible when I got there.
* The molding on the attic access hatch is detached from the ceiling and hanging down.
* There were mouse droppings on the bedspreads when we got there (we did not otherwise see mice).
* The deadbolt in the basement back door does not work to lock the door.
* Some of the burners in the gas grill will not light, even with matches.
* The flashlights provided all had dead batteries.
* The clock in the dining room wasn't working.
* The kitchen trashcan's foot pedal is missing.

The house and location were otherwise charming.

We throughly enjoyed our weekend at this location! The house was nice and clean, and stocked well with all the essentials. The house is very secluded and has a pretty view of the water. Over all, we really enjoyed our stay, but there were just a couple things worth mentioning.. The backyard is a bit over grown and very mushy, the house was a little difficult to find without house numbers, and the kitchen chairs were all very rickety/broken. When we sat down to eat breakfast, one of my guests fell through one of the chairs. Trying to reach Vacasa through the number on the website in order to report damage in a timely matter, was impossible. However, these issues were minor and didn’t impact our stay at all. We would absolutely stay here again.
Manager response:
We are so glad you enjoyed your weekend, Katherine! We apologize for the disappointments you experienced, especially with our slow response times due to being short-staffed during COVID-19. The property manager is aware of your concerns and will get them addressed right away. Thank you for staying with us!

Nice view out back. Was nice and clean. In the middle of nowhere which I loved.

The ambiance was amazing

Our kids loved exploring around the property! It was VERY hard to find in the dark and the basement was pretty dirty, but everything else was very clean and beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit too!

Overall, we had a great time in this Waldoboro home. It was clean, (the linens in particular were impeccable,) comfortable, and very spacious. However, the basement is not as advertised- there was a smell (mold, maybe,) coming from the basement, making it impossible to access, and the smell even faintly drifted up to the left side of the kitchen. The china and dishes in this home are beautiful! It was very nice to use all of the other amenities the kitchen and home offered, and the WiFi connection was good- helpful because it is not great connection around the neighborhood. The surrounding area of this house is beautiful, the backyard in particular. My recommendation to the owner is to display the address somewhere clearly on the house, as it was very difficult to find it, especially since we arrived at nighttime. Overall, however, we loved this house!
Manager response:
The owner is getting numbers for the home to go with the Vacasa signage so guests can more easily locate the home. We apologize for any smells in the basement; we believe this was due to someone turning off the dehumidifier. This has been taken care of. Thank you!

We enjoyed touring this area - Rockport, Rockland, and Camden. This home was difficult to find as it had no house number on it, and it is far from the main road. The home was clean, beds are comfy, plenty of towels, appliances and barbeque worked well. Foosball table in the dingy basement. The interior pictures are accurate, but the exterior pictures look better than reality. There are a few items that need attention in the home that can be quickly and easily resolved, and more outside before it would feel like a home away from home.

The secluded location was wonderful! House was stocked with basic essentials for our stay. Beds were comfortable!

This house is a great place to stay! The house was spotless and very well stocked with all the essentials. The floors are beautiful and the reclining leather couch was comfortable and looked brand new. The TV has lots of on demand and cable options to watch.

The beds have excellent quality mattresses and the house is decorated nicely. The kitchen has all the essentials and they left us a care package with extra paper products, shampoo, soap, etc. I highly recommend his place and will definitely rent it again when we go back to Maine.

The location of the home is remote but nicely situated on the water. It snowed while we were there and it was so serene and beautiful! I am sure that this is a great place to stay in the Summer.

We had a lovely time during our stay here. The home is beautiful and the attention to detail is spot on. The location is perfect with a water view just steps away. I would highly recommend this home for your next stay. Oh, and the snow made everything so picturesque.

Mid coast Serenity is a place off the beaten path. It's quite and peaceful. The house has beautiful hard wood floors throughout most of it. The beds were comfortable and there was adequate storage for groceries. The dining area inside was nice and the couch with the dual recliners made watching TV very relaxing . Regardless of your wireless carrier cell phone service is terrible so be prepared for this. The house had great WiFi and wasn't a problem connecting to the Internet . Moody's diner is within a 10 minute ride and Bistro 32 is within a five minute ride. The house has a fair amount of pots and pans and plenty of dishes and silverware. Hannaford's supermarket is within a 10 minute ride. If you want to be away from it all and in a quiet and peaceful location this is the place for you. I would definitely stay here again.

The house has great potential. The location is secluded, which I enjoyed; however be aware the drive is dark and not fully paved. Unfortunately with our short stay and weather we did not get to enjoy the fire pit. The biggest disappointment was the showers. The water pressure was weak, temp was uncontrollable and they drained very slowly.
Manager response:
We apologize if there was a problem with water pressure during this visit and wish the guest had contacted us during their stay so we could investigate. We have notified the owner. Thanks!

This worked really well for us. We were a family of 3 couples attending a wedding in the area. The three bedrooms offered comfortable beds, king in the master and a queen in each of the other 2 bedrooms. Basics were provided. I would of liked to stay longer and enjoy the outdoors.

This place was awesome! It's a great property right on the water with lots of privacy. The house was spotless and very comfortable. The wi-fi was terrific but no cell service. It has a nice picnic table and fire pit out back with amazing sunsets!
