Sunny lodge on scenic riverbank w/private hot tub - quiet location, SHARC access

Book a relaxing getaway at this riverside Sunriver vacation rental with a private hot tub and eight SHARC passes. Comfortable and laid-back, this quiet North End home is the perfect setting for solitude and enjoying the simple pleasures in life.

Located on the banks of the "Sun River," a channel of the Big Deschutes, this beautiful home has the feel of a rustic getaway in the heart of a premier resort community in Central Oregon. Guests will be just over 17 miles from Bend and 22 miles from Mt. Bachelor, and in the midst of thriving local wildlife.

Sporting river views and plenty of natural light from an abundance of windows, this home is two floors of comfort and simple design. Soak up the warmth from the fireplace framed in creamy tiles, enjoy the cable TV, or surf the Web via WiFi.

The open living area leads into the tiled dining/kitchen area, with room for up to eight at the dining table. Open the door to the deck to allow a nice breeze to waft through, or to make it easier to grill and socialize at the same time. The full kitchen has black appliances and windows galore. Serve coffee and donuts at the breakfast bar for two, and put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher for easy clean-up.

A soak in the hot tub is just what you need after a day of biking, golfing, skiing, or horseback riding. The deck is a wonderful place to enjoy a cool breeze, watch for wildlife, or use the grill to prepare the evening's feast.

If you need quiet time to nap or read, head up the sweeping staircase to the loft area, which has a sofa, a table for board games, and even a telescope!

This is a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home that will sleep up to eight people comfortably. There is a suite downstairs with an attached bathroom, a full bed, a private TV with a DVD/VCR player, and plenty of books to choose from!

Head upstairs to find three more bedrooms - two with queen beds (one of which has a private, river-view balcony) - and a patriotic-themed bedroom with two twins and lots of red, white, and blue! There is a spacious bathroom upstairs with a soaking tub. In addition, this rental includes a washer/dryer to keep packing fresh during your stay.

Though comfortable and relaxing, you may find it challenging to stay indoors once you've gotten to Sunriver. Outdoor recreation is particularly popular here. With the river so close, you could spend a day fishing or kayaking, or even book a rafting trip. Or perhaps you'd prefer to spend your day on a bike, on the back of a horse, or in a golf cart?

There's shopping and seasonal ice skating at the Village, or swimming and indoor tubing at SHARC (eight passes are provided). Skiing (both Nordic and alpine), snowboarding, and snowshoeing opportunities are close at hand.

Come enjoy nature with a posh air here, in this cozy Sunriver home!

Please be aware that the Sunriver SHARC center has implemented new rules and regulations regarding occupancy, amenities, and access. Please see their website for more details.

A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

We loved staying here. The view was so good that we ended up not really leaving our house at all. The lower right stove burner needs a bit of attention though! Thanks for a lovely stay

On the river and very quiet
Alex K. Sep 2020
the location was great, close to paths by the river. House needs some updating, beds were not very comfortable. However it was very clean house with everything we needed.
Manager response:
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Alex! Brand new beds and pillows have been added to the home. There are also new kitchen utensils, new dining chairs, and new bar stools. We are continuing to work with the homeowner to make additional updates so that our guests can have an exceptional vacation. We hope to host you again!
Christina H. Aug 2020
Great location, lots of bikes and great hot tub. They might consider some new pillows for the beds (or bring your own). The pillows were hard. Other than that, this was a great, cozy home.
Manager response:
Hi, Christina! Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your visit! While we acknowledge that the pillows will not suit each of our guests individually, we regret that they were not suitable for your party. We appreciate your feedback, and have notified the local team with this suggestion. Thank you for staying with us, we hope to host you again in the near future!

House is on a great spot next to the river. Great views and open design downstairs. Only thing missing for 5 star was the kitchen equipment was older and the bathrooms & kitchen could use a facelift.
Mark M. Jun 2020
Location is nice, beautiful backyard right on slough, close to river. Wildlife, birds and otters mainly.
David G. Jun 2020
This felt like a cabin on a pond. Lovely spot on the west side of the development. The house is showing its age a little, but has a nice deck with a spa that is not enclosed by walls like so many other places in Sunriver. Though small, it was spacious enough for our group of five. Near the bike path and surrounded by song birds. Enjoy the frog orchestra at night. They have bikes for riding, which were well maintained and very appreciated.

Some things to know: in the evening, you'll get mosquitoes. They hit us right at sun down. The sound carries through the house. Bed in the master overlooking the water is very creaky. Only two bathrooms (one of which is attached to the bedroom downstairs).

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

We absolutely loves Golden Eagle 17! The home was very comfortable for our party of 7. It's location close to Mt. Bachelor and ski areas made it ideal even if there was no snow in Sunriver at the time, The home boasts a friendly layout both inside and out. The hot tub was an inviting space on the cold nights. Fireplace was also a perk. The beds were comfy and there was more than enough space for kids and adults to spread out. The home offered 8 SHARC passes that were fully utilized, bikes, washer and dryer, cable TV and WiFi. All helped to make our holiday stay more comfortable. Overall we can't wait to come back and enjoy Golden Eagle 17 in the summer too!

Location is nice and quiet

We loved our stay! Everything we needed were in the cabin. I only deducted one star because of the uneveness of the temp in each bedroom (we were hot but my sister couldnt sleep from the cold). Thank you!
Daniel F. Jul 2019
It gets a little hot upstairs but besides that the place is great.
Randy B. Jul 2019
Very relaxing getaway for two families. Location is perfect, backed up to the little Sunriver with bike path just beyond and a glimpse of the Deschutes from the upstairs. Very well lit with lots of windows and was an outstanding place to watch and listen to the thunder and lightning storms roll through.

This home has many pleasant features. The downstairs has a cozy sitting area, surround by windows, with a woodburning fireplace. It was very nice to sit there with a toasty fire, enjoy our morning coffee/tea and watch the birds and the other elements of nature. The hot tub was great, good temperature and well placed jets. Good selection of bikes for bike riding, pretty easy ride to the village. Useful selection of books to read and boardgames. Loved the kitchen selection of dishes, lots of glasses and mugs. The house grew on us the longer we were there. Well placed of attention to decorative details. Lastly the spiral staircase added just the perfect design touch. Very homey place to vacation. Main shortfall's were there are only 2 bathrooms, yet that was workable. And a narrow treelined drive, sort of difficult with 2 vehicles. The positives definately outweigh any negatives. We would gladly stay again!!

Beautiful view, quiet, surrounded by nature, cozy home close to the Village and SHARC, hot tub. Need I say more.
Jen C. Oct 2018
This was the most precious, most beautiful warm and inviting home! We loved being here!!!!

A group of four of us retired ladies stayed mid-week in September. Thankfully, there had been a freeze so no mosquitoes to bother us. The home is older, but quite cozy, with an abundance of natural light (the photos and video make it appear to be larger than it actually is). We found the kitchen to be well-equipped with lots of dishes, glassware, coffee cups, etc. The bathroom set-ups are a bit odd. Lots of patio furniture, and the deck overlooks Sun River (slough) and not the Deschutes. We had visiting deer, and lots of birds and waterfowl to watch. The paved path was just a easy distance away for walking. We have stayed at Sunriver multiple times and this was probably our favorite location - away from traffic and very quiet. Of course, it was September. We would consider renting this home again.
Matthew R. Sep 2018
Great house close to Deschutes, away from the craziness of the Sunriver Village, but close enough for easy access when you want it. Definitely would stay here again!
Tara R. Aug 2018
Nice little home, lots of bikes, great view. Downstairs sofa cushion covers are in need of repair. Lots of use = signs of a well-loved vacation rental.
Manager response:
We are so happy to see our guest enjoyed the home, and we are pleased to say a new couch has been delivered. Thank you!
Julia W. Aug 2018
The house was clean and convenient to all Sunriver has to offer. The bikes were great and we enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen and relaxing in the hot tub. On the negative side, the beds weren't the most comfortable and we got eaten alive by mosquitoes, even with bug repellent. That being said, the spot was very peaceful and we all had a great time.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us, Julia! We're glad that you had a great time and we're grateful for your feedback. To enhance the comfort of our guests, new beds and pillows have been purchased for the home. The home is right on the water so unfortunately, mosquitos are hard to avoid, we recommend bringing bug spray. We hope you'll come back for another visit!
Olga G. Jun 2018
Loved the view of the river, so many critters frolicking right outside my window. Loved going to sleep to the sound of chirping frogs at night. Also, appreciated the clean cabin with all the amenities. My family loved grilling the best!!
monika l. May 2018
A very authentic house on the river, close to the national park entrance.
House is a little old so dishwasher and washing machine were not functioning properly.
Marc L. Mar 2018
This home was perfect for our family spring break vacation. It was clean, well-furnished and in an amazing location. We biked around Sunriver, we skiied at Bachelor, we swam at the SHARC, we checked out the Nature Center, and we ate lots of great food. The hot tub and cozy fire in the living room rounded off every day. Absolutely wonderful trip!
Kerry B. Oct 2017
This was our 4th visit to 17 Golden Eagle. We like it because it is located on the river and the house is wonderful and roomy. It's great for a family. Having several bikes in the garage was nice. We plan to stay here again.
Eric A. Sep 2017
Don't miss the chance to enjoy the delightful natural surroundings. Sunriver has it all. Find a place along the river if you can for a distraction free relaxed vacation or family get together. Everything is conveniently located and easy to get to or find. The golf courses are extremely well maintained and the lodge, amenities and staff are all a real pleasure.
Alok S. Aug 2017
We had a great weekend here in the middle of summer. The river was a 2-minute walk, an amazing bike trail is next to the house and there is a great hot tub on the patio.

One thing to watch out for is mosquitos in the summer, bring some bug spray!
Carolyn L. Jul 2017
The house was clean and well maintained. It had bicycles for our use and pool passes, very nice. The only thing was we were there in late July and the mosquitoes were all over us
Nicole G. Jul 2017
Lots to do in Sun River and great for families and kids!
Larry H. Jul 2017
We spent three nights and four day at 17 Golden Eagle Lane. The home is comfortable and well equipped. The river is close and the hot tub was excellent. The house is only about 5 minutes from Sunriver Village where there are nice eating establishments and lots of things to do for kids.
Beverly H. Jul 2017
We enjoyed watching families of ducks come up the slough each day. One day we even had an otter.
Sarah G. Apr 2017
The Views from this cabin are amazing. We saw geese, ducks and squirrels while eating our meals. Very quite location and fun to bike the river loop.
Raymond H. Mar 2017
The views and privacy of this house were lovely and hot tub and bikes were well enjoyed but there were several things about this house that were hard to overlook.
If you like to cook- this is not the house for you. The cook top only worked on one side. The pan selection was very limited and most of the other dishes, utensils and supplies and seemed to have come from a garage sale from the late 70's- we had fun reminiscing about our childhood. There was so much "stuff" there wasn't any place to store any food supplies you may have brought with you. The fridge was nice and the gas grill worked well .
The beds were very hard except one and it was very soft. We were here for Spring break and there are no heating vents in the upstairs loft, bathroom and one of the bedrooms. We froze while two of the bedrooms were roasting. There are signs posted that there is no air conditioning- not sure what summer would be like, although there were box fans and signs posted how to keep the house cool.
The bathrooms were awkward. The main level bathroom is only accessible thorough the bedroom and the upstairs bathroom was a modified Jack and Jill with three doors and a pocket door. We are a close family but...
We had a wonderful time in Sunriver, skiing, biking, tennis and pickle ball, playing at the SHARC. We rent vacation homes several times a year. This house was lovely to look at, and on paper looks good, but did not function well for our family.
Nathan M. Mar 2017
We stayed here as a home base for our Mt Bachelor ski weekend and the house had all the amenities and comfort that we wanted. The hot tub was well maintained and so nice after a long day skiing. The house has a fireplace with an ample supply of firewood that we enjoyed every night. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs that all share one bathroom, which can get a little cramped when everybody is in a rush to get out in the morning, but since there's a 2nd bathroom in the bedroom downstairs it worked out OK for us. I would definitely stay here again for sure. The spiral staircase is really cool too.
Derek R. Oct 2016
Great place - location is amazing, so close to the river. Great for two families - 4 kids total. Biking for everyone, great setting. Relaxing vacation.
Ron & June S. Sep 2016
This property is well placed within the resort, Comfortable, well furnished. You are within easy striking distance of the Resort Lodge, the Village and restaurants, golf courses and access to Hwy 97 in both directions.
Brian B. Sep 2016
We used the place for a weekend work retreat. It worked out great for us. Enjoyed Sunriver. Easy to book, check in and check out.
Stephanie B. Aug 2016
This was our third stay at 17 Golden Eagle. We love being right on Sun River and near the Deschutes. It is very peaceful and fun to see birds, deer, and otters in the river from the deck. Our only suggestion for improvement is that the dishwasher needs to be replaced because it won't get dishes and utensils clean unless every trace of food is completely rinsed off before being put in the dishwasher. Once we figured that out it was fine.
Shelagh F. Jul 2016
Loved the location of this house. It has lots of big windows to enjoy the scenery. Great place.
Kent N. Jun 2016
Loved seeing the wildlife along the sunriver
