Absolutely fantastic. There's very little I would change about any aspect of our stay. Not only did it match our expectations, it exceeded them at every turn, leaving us constantly surprised and amazed. The wildlife is abundant, and it was great being able to practice taking photos of the butterflies and birds right from the deck. Casa Don Marcos is a photographers paradise. We even miss the house Geckos and wish we had some here in Oregon. Francesca was amazing with last minute coordination and all the tide information. David was super helpful on crossing the stream, even though we left extremely early in the morning. It's obvious the house is kept clean, which I am sure is a challenge out in the jungle! The remoteness is a challenge and a feature at the same time. You will absolutely need a 4x4 for the last mile to the house. Some of the roads into Marbella are pretty rough as well, so it's worth it. Don't skimp and choose an all-wheel drive vehicle, you'll want the clearance of a full size pickup and full-time locking differential. We visited in June as rains were starting, and absolutely needed the Toyota Hilux we had rented. Lovely beachfront condo on a quiet dark sand beach. Website photos accurately show how nice the unit is. There are several beach chairs available to use and 2 boogie boards although they are partly broken. However, there is no unit number mentioned with the entry instructions and no unit number anywhere on or near the door. The eloc on the door is completely different than any of the examples given on the website and there were no instructions on how to operate that. This caused a lot of time and anxiety with multiple attempts to contact someone to find the unit and then trying to enter the unit. This is something that Vacasa could easily fix. Put the unit number on or near the door, list the unit number in the entry info and give detailed instructions on how to use this specific eloc. Other than this issue it was a lovely stay.
