Convenient cottage with huge backyard, WiFi, & W/D - walk to beach

Experience a quaint coastal getaway with the ones you love at this Port Orford cottage. Welcoming up to six guests, it's an inviting abode with a large backyard and a great location for exploring the beautiful Southern Oregon Coast.

Tucked into a woodsy neighborhood on the southwest side of town, the home's secluded location offers plenty of peace and quiet. Take a short walk west to find the nearest beach, or go east into town for shopping and dining options along Highway 101.

Whether you've come for a relaxing weekend or an activity-filled stay, you're sure to find just what you're looking for in this home. Spend some time in the living area's upbeat ambiance, where colorful walls, coast-inspired furnishings, and artistic decor reside. Flip on the Netflix- and DVD-equipped TV for a group movie on a rainy day, or draw the curtains for a refreshing mid-day nap.

When you get hungry, head into the kitchen to whip up fresh seafood dishes using its modern appliances, varied cookware, and ample countertops. Eat together at the dining area table, or take your meal onto the outdoor deck or patio if the weather calls for it. There's even a gazebo for taking in the fresh air. While dining al fresco, you'll be treated to the fragrant smell of Myrtlewood.

Connect to the WiFi to plan tomorrow's adventures. You also needn't pack heavy thanks to a private washer/dryer.

Retire to any of the three bedrooms for the restful sleep you deserve. With a king bed in the downstairs suite, a full bed in the guest bedroom, and an additional king-size bedroom upstairs, up to six guests are accommodated here.

Wake with a fresh cup of coffee and toast in the kitchen, then review your schedule. Right here in Port Orford, you'll find a secluded beach to explore - keep an eye out for rocks and shells buried in the sand, or stop for a photo of the sea stack rocks in the distance. You'll have a few restaurants around town, and no trip to town is complete without a stop at Crazy Norwegian's Fish & Chips.

Ready for some road trips? Lace up some sturdy shoes for a hike at Humbug Mountain State Park (six miles south), visit the Cape Blanco Lighthouse (10 miles north), or tour the Hughes Historic House (about nine miles north). You could also check out other coastal communities both north and south along Highway 101, including Gold Beach, Brookings, Bandon, and Coos Bay.

The home and the property are amazing. However the hot tub has way too much chemicals and it burns the nose and eyes to be in it with the jets on. I also didn't like the fact that the check in time is 4pm but you have to check out by 10am. It seems like a really early check out time considering the check in time isn't till 4pm. Other then that the home is very close to beach access as well as town but is still situated in a nice secluded wooded area.

Super cute older home. Loved the privacy. Hot tub is really nice. Needs a fan for air circulation. We opened the door but still ended up with eyes burning from the chlorine. We usually are not sensitive to the chemicals. Also had to reset the hot water heater twice during our stay, the manager was very helpful with this . I would recommend taking spider spray with you if you have any issues with spiders. There were quite a few of them .
Manager response:
Hi, Crystal! We are in the process of getting the hot water heater replaced. A fan will be added to the hot tub room, and we will look into treatment for pests. Thank you!

Such a cute home, King size bed on 1st floor is very comfortable! (It was only the two of us, so we didn’t use the ones upstairs). Kitchen is small but very efficient. Most older homes don’t have a dishwasher but this one does. Very private setting and large fenced in backyard. The Marquis hot tub is fabulous, but it’s in the enclosed sunroom so the chorine smell can be overwhelming. We just kept the patio door open and that really helped. The inside of home was very clean, however the outside needs to be power washed (spider webs all over the lights, outdoor furniture and windows. Hasn’t had any yard work done in quite a while. Even with that said, we were comfortable and really enjoyed our stay - there’s even a crab net for you to use! Plenty of dishes, silverware and utensils, however not much for pots & pans. . Vacasa responded immediately to our questions! Note: the driveway is steep and there is no way you can bring a boat or trailer for your ATV’s. But our kayaks fit in back of our truck and Lake Garrison is only a few blocks away - and so is the beach!
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Lisa. Fall inspections and deep cleans are coming soon, and we will be sure the exterior is addressed during that process. We hope to host you again!

We loved the loft and the location was so great! Do not turn on the jets in the hot tub though as there is too much chlorine and it caused our throats and eyes to burn and sent one of my kids into a coughing fit.
Manager response:
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your valuable feedback with us. We passed your comments along to our local manager to review and we appreciate guest’s preferences as a means to continually improve and have addressed the issue with the hot tub. We look forward to hosting your next stay!

We loved the house. It was surrounded by trees, quiet, and relaxing. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. A few problems: AC didn't seem to work very well and there was only one standing fan for our family of five so a couple of the warmer nights were a bit uncomfortable. The hot tub does not really get hot, just warm, and it could use a different form of sanitation - the smell of chlorine was overwhelming. Also, we ran out of toilet paper and dishwasher tabs.

The location was perfect, walk to beach and town easily.

We had a lovely stay in Port Orford. Everything was just as expected from the description and the photos. Such a quiet, peaceful location. We loved the open shelving in the kitchen - so helpful for finding things!

The home was very nice, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a super beach getaway. The beds were very comfy and we all slept great! The hot tub was a huge plus and the yard was great for our pup. We’d stay again if we go back to Port Orford!

Nice big backyard and lots of privacy. So quiet. A very short drive to Agate beach. The bed on the main level is very comfy. Everything worked great and we were happy with our visit

Very comfortable cottage. You can hear the ocean that's just a couple blocks from the private fenced backyard. The hot tub was amazing. Will definitely stay again and recommend to my friends. My only complaints are the level of chlorine in the hot tub was way too high and burning our eyes, and the pots, pans and knives weren't the best. I will bring large frying pan, baking dish and medium sized steamer pot with lid. Other than that, it had all we needed to have a great vacation home away from home

This was our first time in Oregon. We are originally from France but we live in California. The house was perfect for us 4. The beds were comfortable (2 king size and a queen!). The kitchen had everything and the grill in the backyard was very convenient. Nice living room. Perfect for 4. The hot tub was awesome and indoor! My favorite part was the backyard :) very inviting yet intimate. The staff was very responsive upon our arrival. The check out process super easy. Great location. A hidden gem. My family and I loved our stay. Thank you Vacasa. If potential families or couples are reading this: look no further and book it!

Very clean, cute and comfortable. Loved the secluded feeling but very close to everything. Walked to the beach several times. Hot tub was soothing. I will definitely be back!!!!
Teresa H. Aug 2019
Cozy with 3 adults, 2 kids and a dog. We were within walking distance to the beach and down town. One bathroom with two doors was a test, but we passed. Thank you owners for sharing your home with us. We'll be back.
Jessica J. Apr 2019
This was a beautiful, quaint little cottage that was perfect for our 3 day weekend. Everything was impeccably clean and the hot tub was wonderful. We especially loved that the hot tub was indoors, so that we were still able to enjoy it when it rained. Plenty of extra towels and linens, and the kitchen was fully equipped for all of our cooking needs. The large backyard was beautiful.
Darrel M. Jan 2019
Great location like the property only problem the lock in the door was rusted Had a hell of a time getting the lock to work but after I squirted some silicone in it it started working good

Perfect for two or a family to relax. Private. Nice yard and the hottub was a bonus. Well stocked. Clean. Would rent again.
Susan C. Oct 2018
Very clean. Loved listening to the waves crash from the backyard. Great spot to be able to go from Bandon to Brooking. Loved seeing all the deer even in the back yard.
Marsha M. Sep 2018
Good location for this older but comfortable house with a fenced yard; walking distance to two beaches, in a quiet neighborhood.
Jessica M. Jul 2018
Great home with plenty of amenities, easy walk to town or the beach, great beds!

We loved Myrtlewood Cottage. They have thought of everything, all of our needs were met. Our pups loved the yard and we enjoyed our morning coffee under the “gazebo”. Very private, well stocked and so clean. Thank you for a wonderful place.
Willie T. May 2018
Deceiving from online pics. Beautiful inside and the back area is the best. Even had a deer come down to munch on the greenery.
This will be my annual stay in Port Orford. Most important, the house was clean, very clean...
M'Lissa H. May 2018
Pretty cool, comfy house, & my dogs & I loved the secured backyard! Although the beach is beautiful, there's not much to do in Port Orford, but it's conveniently located for exploring as far north along the coast as Florence & down the coast to Brookings, & it was great to be able to soak in the hot tub after a day of exploring.
Sandy S. May 2018
This home had so many special touches and was so comfortable, it felt like we were staying in someone's home and not a mere vacation rental. I really appreciated the yard for the dogs as well as all the lawn furniture. The kitchen was charming with all the teapots and various ceramic kitties! I would suggest providing some extra blankets for the beds and possibly some mirrors in the bedrooms. With just the one bathroom, it might make things more convenient. Overall, the place is great, quiet, comfortable, and felt safe. I would definitely stay here again.
Jeffery W. Apr 2018
We loved the private fenced in back yard. Was so great for our dogs.
The house was very clean and pleasant. It is very close to the beach and great hiking trails.
Anthony S. Feb 2018
Most adorable cottage I have stayed in. Will definitely come back.
Dylan B. Jan 2018
The property is conveniently located close to town and close to the beach. Port Orford is a cute little town.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Thank you.
Linda K. Oct 2017
This is a wonderful eclectically decorated home with a big fenced back yard. I slept better on the king sized mattress than I did anywhere else on our vacation.
Julie L. Sep 2017
We had a wonderful time!! Walked the beaches. Ate great food at RedFish and Crazy was perfect:)I'm a bit of a clean fanatic and the house did not disappoint me!! We hope to visit again! The Oregon coast is beautiful and inspiring:)
