Recent Key Largo vacation rental reviews

My two best friends and I just spent five wonderful days at Largo Lazy Days. The house was exactly as represented by the pictures. It was spotless, light, airy and had a lovely beachy vibe. The owner, Alicia, obviously enjoyed decorating it, and the art sets the mood. The living area has lots of comfortable seating and a large flat screen TV where we enjoyed watching Netflix at night. A screened porch adjacent to the living room expanded the living space . We left the door open most of the time letting in light and breezes. The kitchen is small but well supplied. The neighborhood is quiet yet close to the highway that connects everything in the Keys. We found it very easy to find our way around. Alicia was very responsive when we had questions, and she gave us a long list of suggestions for restaurants, shopping and outdoor activities. The house is a gem!

It’s a very nice place

This condo has been beautifully updated and has what I feel are some of the prettiest views of the pool & ocean in the development. The master room/bathroom were lovely, and provided a nice luxurious feel for us, despite having our kids along. Pool was very nice, although did not go deeper than 5 feet. Location in Key Largo is quiet, and good distance to lots of restaurant options. The reasons for less than 5 stars: kitchen was not stocked as nicely as other VRBO's we have stayed in; there were small bugs crawling all over the kitchen counters which meant we constantly had to clean them, and put all food away; door to the A/C unit was broken and in need of repair; curtains in all the bedrooms could be thicker, in order to accommodate later sleeping; no towel rack or soap dispenser in half bath, and we had issues with the A/C on our final night of stay. Vacasa was very responsive when I texted with questions. Overall, we had a very nice stay and unit is obviously well cared for and was extremely clean (minus the bugs - which they had counter traps out for).

Things to do in Key Largo, FL

Whether you're longing for a relaxing getaway or hoping for an exotic escape, Key Largo is the perfect choice for your next vacation! With the Everglades National Park to the north and Islamorada and the lower Florida Keys to the south, this popular destination is ideal for outdoor adventures, island hopping, or simply soaking up the sun on the beach.

Surrounded by the vibrant turquoise ocean, the sea offers entertainment options for both tourists and locals. Did you know that the Florida Reef is the third largest coral barrier reef in the world? Key Largo offers access to the some of the densest parts of the reef so scuba-diving or snorkeling are a popular activity on this island! Consider booking a charter fishing expedition for trophy yellowtail snapper or a sunset cruise on the calm Blackwater sound.

Kids (and those young at heart) will love building sandcastles and playing in the sun on one of the island’s sun-drenched beaches, such as Far Beach in John Pennekamp Coral Reef Park. After splashing in the surf, enjoy some burgers or hot dogs at a family picnic on Tavernier Beach.

From eclectic boutique shopping to the annual Humphrey Bogart Film Festival (held next to the clear blue waters Bogie navigated in the classic movie for which this island was named), there are plenty of entertainment options to choose from during your stay in one of our Key Largo vacation rentals! Although this is a family-friendly destination, the adults of the group can enjoy a happy hour pina colada at any of the island’s conch-style bars.

Outdoor adventures in Key Largo, FL

For those seeking quality time in the outdoors, the island gives up-close access to wildlife - both on land and in the water! Everglades National Park is only 37 miles away and offers daily tours. With over one million acres, this sprawling national treasure is home to a number of animal species that include alligators, crocodiles, cranes, birds, snakes, and much more.

Key Largo boasts the title of “Dive Capital of the World” thanks to the expansive coral reef submerged just off its shores. Scuba divers can explore interesting underwater relics such as the Statue of Christ of the Abyss or the sunken Navy transport ship at Spiegel Grove without having to travel far from this beautiful island.

Key Largo’s commitment to ecotourism and coral reef conservation means that the underwater systems of reefs, such as the Elbow, Carysfort, and Benwood reefs, can be explored by divers and appreciated by generations to come. So put on your diving gear, jump into the crystal clear waters, and explore Florida's barrier reef!
