Don’t let the one star review above scare you. I’m glad it didn’t scare us off. We are avid Florida travelers and love vacationing and have stayed in a lot of places including Disney and universal properties, on the beach off the beach, million dollar homes, half a million dollar condos. First of all the location of this property is great! There are actually two entry gates to the property. The walking beach access is easy. We on the other hand bring enough stuff to camp on the beach the whole day so we always drive to our favorite public beach access pay the $20 parking gladly and get a lifeguard and security in the parking lot. When we entered the unit we were shocked! It was so incredibly open and spacious. With a family of 5 including a 15, 13 and 10 year old we were so spread out there wasn’t any fighting. The two bathrooms made shower time go quickly. The fridge has an ice maker and filtered water which was a great upgrade from Florida tap water. I did not see a hair dryer but that wasn't a problem. The house has soapbox brand shampoo conditioner and body wash throughout it which is awesome! The complex is quiet and parking was plentiful. We didn't use the garage because our roof top carrier made the car over 8 feet but it was nice to have the option. The trash chute made throwing away the trash really easy. The view was so much better than so many other places we have stayed. There is a beautiful nature preserve off the back patio. We enjoyed coffee and watched the drizzle. We were so happy not to face a parking lot or a rooftop or a alley or a dumpster. Oceanwalk has 3 gate keypads. When you put your gate code in the touch screen is where you put your code in to open the center gate. The location is close to everything. We were able to get to JB fish house in 3 minutes and 11 to Off the Hook where Terry made sure we had happy hour drinks and oysters from 4-7! The water pressure was good in the showers and the drains worked well. The beds are low profile and easy in and out. They were very comfortable and helped the rooms seem even more spacious. The desk in the master made it easy to do a little work before bed. I can’t wait to stay here again. It was absolutely perfect. Please let the vacation owner know what a gem they have. This New Smyrna vacation property definitely is one that you won’t be disappointed you decided to book.
