This was our second visit to a different unit. Wonderful view safe building just wish I didn’t have to go outside the gate with my dog at night but overall a great place with friendly neighbors. Beautiful units that are tastefully decorated!

Where is New Smyrna Beach?

Sitting on the central east Atlantic Coast, New Smyrna Beach is located in the so-called "Fun Coast" region of Florida. Amusingly, this coincides with the local area code, "386," which spells out "FUN" on phone keypads. It is bordered by Volusia County to the north, Samsula-Spruce Creek to the west, and the city of Edgewater and the Canaveral National Seashore to the south. To the east, there are over 13 miles of pristine sandy beaches ideal for sunning, swimming, and surfing.

Things to do in New Smyrna Beach

Recognized in 2012 as one of the world's top 20 surf towns by National Geographic, Smyrna Inlet offers one of the most performance-friendly breaks along Florida's more than 1,200 miles of surfable coastline. While there are plenty of reasons for surfers to make the trek to New Smyrna Beach throughout the year, the rustic and classic Florida charm of the city gives it a quaint, hometown-vibe throughout. It may not be the definition of a party town, but there's still plenty of fun to be had with your New Smyrna Beach rental.

Take a stroll along Canal Street, one of New Smyrna Beach's many pedestrian-friendly, tree-lined streets, for a number of wonderful restaurants, unique shops, galleries, and museums. Learn all about the southeast Volusia County area at the New Smyrna Museum of History on Sams Avenue, head over to Mission Drive and walk among the unique ruins of a 19th-century sugar mill, or visit the beautiful (and newly-restored) Eldora House, part of the Canaveral National Seashore.

Every Saturday, enjoy the dog-friendly New Smyrna Beach Farmers Market on Sams Avenue (between City Hall and Old Fort Park) for locally-sourced produce, fresh-baked bread and pastries, fresh-cut flowers, and handmade arts and crafts. And on the first Saturday of every month, adult visitors won't want to miss the Canal Street Historic District Craft Beer Walk.

The highlight of New Smyrna Beach is its 13 miles of sandy beaches for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, or just strolling along on a lazy afternoon. And eager anglers will want to book an offshore or deep sea fishing expedition from one of the local bait shops or marinas and try their hand at reeling in whiting, flounder, redfish, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, and many other varieties of fish.
