This house did not disappoint! As soon as you walk in you are in a beautiful oasis. The house is spacious with plenty of room to be out of each other’s way. The west wing is so quiet and very welcoming. The east wing has the two bedrooms that are perfect for parents and children. The beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows and blankets. The pool and backyard are awesome. The yard has space for games, lounging and good family fun. The owner has left some pool toys, yard games, puzzles and board games. The backyard and pool are designed so there is shade and sun throughout the yard all day long. I had a few questions and the owners were quick to answer. The beach and several ocean front restaurants are close by. We drove a bit and watch some Mets spring training games. We were hoping our flight was cancelled so we could stay. You will enjoy this house immensely!

We had a wonderful stay at this Vero Beach home. It was our first time in the area, and the house truly exceeded our expectations! It was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed and more. You can tell the owner put a lot of care into every detail. The next time we are in the area, we will definitely look to stay here again!

We loved our stay here. The house has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The kitchen was my favorite part of the house. The pool was so refreshing. Easy drive from house to grocery, restaurants, and beach. We will definitely stay again.

Plan your Vero Beach getaway

Vero Beach is the kind of place where you can keep the schedule light and still feel like you did a lot. Set up your days around a home base near the beach for quick sand-and-surf breaks, or choose a spot closer to downtown if you want coffee, galleries, and dinner within an easy drive, then add one lagoon outing and one wildlife stop to round it out.

Whether you’re traveling with kids, planning a couples trip, or bringing a group (and maybe the dog), use filters to narrow in on what matters most, like oceanfront, pet-friendly, or a pool for post-beach lounging. Each home is unique, so confirm details in the listing description and amenities before you book.

Things to do in Vero Beach

Vero Beach is at its best when you mix one wildlife-focused day with one downtown arts, history, or hands-on activity day, then leave plenty of room for the water. These named stops make it easy to plan without overpacking your schedule.

Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge

If your ideal beach day includes more nature and fewer crowds, put Archie Carr on the list. This protected stretch of coastline is closely tied to sea turtle conservation, and it’s a great place to slow down, look for wildlife, and enjoy a quieter side of the Atlantic.

Best for:

Indian River Citrus Museum

For a quick, local culture stop that feels specific to this part of Florida, the Indian River Citrus Museum is a good add. It’s small, easy to fit between plans, and gives your trip a sense of place beyond the beach through citrus history and memorabilia.

Best for:

Artists Guild Gallery

Downtown Vero Beach has a creative side, and Artists Guild Gallery is an approachable way to tap into it. Plan it as part of a casual downtown loop, pair it with coffee, a museum stop, and a relaxed dinner nearby.

Best for:

Painted Frog

When you want something hands-on, Painted Frog is an easy win. It’s a pottery and creative studio that works well for families, mixed-age groups, and anyone who wants a slower activity that doesn’t depend on perfect beach weather.

Best for:

Vero Tackle & Watersports

If you want the Indian River Lagoon to be part of the trip, not just background scenery, plan an outing on the water. Vero Tackle & Watersports is a practical starting point for getting out by boat, kayak, paddleboard, or on a guided tour, depending on your comfort level and group vibe.

Best for:

Where to eat in Vero Beach

Vero Beach dining is comfortably casual, with a few polished options when you want a nicer night out. Use this list to map meals to your day, coffee before downtown exploring, an easy group dinner, and one place that feels like a treat.

El Rey Mexican Restaurant

A straightforward choice when you want a relaxed meal that works for families and groups. Expect the classics, tacos, fajitas, burritos, and margaritas, in a no-fuss setting that’s easy to fit into a busy day.

Good for:

The Oar Restaurant

When your group wants a more intentional dinner, The Oar is a solid pick with a fresh-ingredient, seafood-leaning focus. It’s a good place to slow down after a day of refuge exploring or time on the lagoon.

Good for:

Coffee House 1420

Make this your downtown morning anchor. Coffee House 1420 is a great reset stop for coffee, tea, and a bite before you head to galleries, the citrus museum, or a relaxed walk around town.

Good for:

Vero Prime

If you want one polished dinner on the trip, Vero Prime fits the bill. It’s a steakhouse option that works well for celebrations, date nights, or a “let’s dress up a little” evening.

Good for:

Walking Tree Brewery

For a casual hangout, Walking Tree Brewery is a good social stop for beer and a laid-back taproom vibe. It’s a nice way to end the day if your group wants something relaxed that isn’t centered on a long dinner.

Good for:

Vero Beach local tips

A few small choices can make a Vero Beach trip feel smoother and more locally grounded, especially if you’re balancing beach time with wildlife and downtown stops.

Day trips from Vero Beach

If you’re up for a short drive, nearby wildlife refuges extend the same quiet-coast feel you get around Vero. These make great half-day to full-day add-ons when you want more trails, lagoon views, and birding opportunities.

Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge

Just up the road near Sebastian, Pelican Island is a great day trip for travelers who want a calmer nature outing with trails, lagoon scenery, and birding. It’s an easy way to add variety if you’ve already done beach days closer to town.

Nathaniel P. Reed Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge

For a longer, nature-forward day, Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge offers undeveloped beach and coastal habitat that feels far removed from busier areas. Plan it when your group wants a protected-coast experience and does not mind driving a bit farther for it.
