Deep in the woods and off the beaten path, the cottage is a good choice for a couple looking for a quiet getaway to the Vineyard. The house is off a long dirt road so a car is necessary to access beaches, restaurants and shopping, but most points on island can be reached in 20 minutes or so. The house, though small, is perfectly comfortable with a great bed. We stayed in early March so the in-floor heating was terrific and kept us warm and toasty. We would definately consider staying here again in future.

This was a great stay. Everything was perfect, from easy check in, quiet views of nature. The owner of the property was also top notch and available if needed. A blizzard almost stopped the trip, even with lots of snow everything was cleared, cleaned. I cannot wait to return.

The Treehouse cottage is such a hidden gem! I really enjoyed the privacy of being tucked back into the woods on the hill. The home was clean and comfortable and had all of the amenities I expected. The check in instructions were flawless and I didn't have any trouble finding the home. I'll be back soon!

Once home to the Wampanoag tribe, natives of Tisbury, England, settled here in 1669 and the town formally proclaimed its current title in 1892. West Tisbury is now home to descendants of those settlers as well as local celebrities. The town sees an influx of mainlanders during the summer who head here for the gorgeous beaches and green spaces.

Things to Do in West Tisbury, MA

The town is home to a several notable natural wonders. While some of the beaches are open to local residents, only Long Point Wildlife Refuge boasts more than 600 acres of public land, from beaches to dunes to woodland. Bird watchers from miles around head here in the off-season, and seasonal hunting of waterfowl is allowed.

Horticulturalists venture to Polly Hill Arboretum, a 60-acre refuge featuring rare flora as well as meadows and fields filled with azaleas, camelias, rhododendrons, and magnolias. Visitors are particularly fond of the monkey puzzle tree.
