Our favorite spot in the area is Wizard Falls on the Metolius River--this time, the road wasn't plowed so we couldn't get there, but are looking forward to going again soon.

An unexpected snowstorm hit while we were there, so we spent a lot of time in the lovely cabin. It was clean, decorated beautifully, cozy and inviting. The snow was gorgeous - from inside. :)

I bicycled half of the Sisters to Smith Rock ride. The roads were light on traffic, mostly smooth (no chip seal) and the drivers were considerate. Secondly, I hiked along the Metolius River and Camp Sherman. It is a beautiful, peaceful place to relax. Well worth the fifteen mile drive.

Sisters is a nice place to visit for a day. I didn't have my bike with me, that was a mistake to not bring it. Across the street from the house is a map of several bike rides. I did drive into Bend and walked by the Deschutes. I also drove to Suttle Lake. Such a beautiful area.

We were on our way to Smith Rock State Park on the back road to Terrebonne when we discovered the wonderful, huge alpaca farm!! The kids were in love! We could not see the State Park as everyone in the state of Oregon had the same idea and only road parking was available a mile away...too hot for that walk!
