Cabin

We stayed at Fawn Lodge over Thanksgiving week as a family of three with our dog, and while the home itself is beautiful and well located, our arrival was stressful. When we arrived, the front door was completely wide open, the key was still in the lock, the patio door was also wide open, and there was no running water because it had not been turned on from the street. The hot tub was slowly filling from leftover water in the lines. If you know Tahoe, you know that bears are a real concern, so walking into a house that had been left wide open was extremely alarming. Thankfully, we did not encounter any wildlife during our stay. We had to contact Vacasa to get the water turned on and then fill the hot tub ourselves. We were also not informed ahead of time that additional maintenance would occur during our stay, including the delivery and installation of a new hot tub cover. Luckily, we were home when the technician arrived since they did not have access to the house. Once everything was resolved, we truly enjoyed our time here. Fawn Lodge is a very spacious home with lovely views, is extremely clean and well maintained, and is conveniently located near many North Lake Tahoe attractions. After the initial hiccups, the rest of our stay was comfortable and relaxing, and we would still recommend the home to others. One heads up for future guests: there is very little furniture on the deck — only two low chairs, so if you plan to spend time outside, consider bringing camping chairs. Despite the rocky start, Fawn Lodge is a great home, and we would consider staying here again, hoping for a smoother check-in experience.
