Recent Sandpoint vacation rental reviews

We had a wonderful stay - plenty of room for our family of 5 to spread out and relax. We found just about everything we needed, but as other reviewers have mentioned, it would have been nice to have an introductory notebook to help us maneuver around the resort and town. And while there was plenty of dishes and wine glasses, there was no empty cabinet space for us to put our food. Fridge was bare, but no empty cabinets for us to put our cereal, bread and chips, etc, so that all took up an entire counter. Would have been nice to have a spot to put it so we could really feel at home. Other than those two things, the place was fantastic.

The location is great with true ski in-ski out. The heated ski locker room was nice to have available. As others have noted, the unit and the furnishings are somewhat dated and could use an upgrade, but everything was clean and comfortable. A real bonus was to find that the dated tube TV in the photos has been replaced by a large flat screen LCD TV. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Went on a ski trip with 8 total people and loved the stay at the castle. Kitchen had every possible utensil and pot/pan you could think of. Beds were comfortable and house was clean. Our host, Norman, was a delight, going out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. One thing I feel needs to be clarified is that from this location you can easily ski into the main ski area, but there is no reasonable way to ski back into cabin without a decent walk back up. Loved our stay and would be happy to stay again.

Outdoor activities in Sandpoint, ID

Home to year-round activities, bikers can spend the day out on the Gold Hill Trail, an almost eight-mile biking and hiking trail with stunning views of the lake and the Selkirk Mountains. And if you're feeling ambitious on your two wheels, add the trek as part of a 28-mile loop with the Long Bridge Trail. In the summer, swimmers take the waves, completing The Long Bridge Swim, an open-water 1.76-mile swim.

During the warmer months, Schweitzer Mountain Resort offers over 20 miles of hiking and biking trails through wildflowers and gorgeous alpine vistas - you can even hop on the chairlift if you need a little help getting to the top! By snowfall, the resort attracts skiers from across the globe, as the mountain features terrain parks, night skiing, cat skiing and snowmobiling, a Nordic center and more! Just on the edge of the Couer d'Alene National Forest, a Sandpoint vacation home offers easy access to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling in the winter.

You'll have access to two golf courses when you stay in one of our Sandpoint vacation rentals - Priest Lake and Sandpoint Elks. Right in town, you can also rent kayaks, ski boats, pontoon boats, and more for an unforgettable day out on Lake Pend Oreille. You can also take a driving tour along the International Selkirk Loop (named "Best of the Roads" by Rand McNally). The full loop includes 280 miles through Idaho, Washington, and Canada, as well as stunning mountain, lake, and river views - even just a small chunk is completely jaw-dropping and inspiring!

Attractions in Sandpoint, ID

This region of Idaho, no matter how beautiful the scenery is, also offers plenty of activities for non-adventure seekers. In the summertime, there's the ArtWalk around downtown galleries, and in August, you can attend the Arts and Crafts Fair, as well as an annual Artists' Studio Tour - take this self-guided tour of Northern Idaho for a peek inside the creative process. Year-round, the Panida Theater hosts live performances and indie flicks.

Learn about the history of the region at the Bird Aviation Museum or the Bonner County Historical Museum, and finish up with a stroll around City Beach, with its sandy shoreline, swimming areas, and volleyball nets if you feel like working up an appetite. Before heading back to your Sandpoint retreat, stop by Pend Oreille Winery for some local vino tasting or one of Sandpoint's craft breweries, like Laughing Dog or MickDuffs, for pints and snacks. Families of all ages will love a trip to Silverwood Theme Park, just 30 miles outside of town, which boasts roller-coaster rides, fireworks shows, and the Boulder Beach Waterpark!

For outdoor adventures year-round, alpine mountain scenery, a vibrant lakefront, and a thriving art and food scene, it's hard to beat a vacation in beautiful Northern Idaho! Our Sandpoint condos puts you right in the middle of this breathtakingly beautiful landscape, whether you ski Schweitzer Mountain in the winter or paddle along Lake Pend Oreille in the summer.
