Recent Playa Hermosa guest reviews

This casa is located on top of a long curvy steep road but once you get here it is worth the drive. As stated in other reviews do not drive it in the dark your first time. We did encounter delays from San Jose going both ways that took over three hours so plan ahead if you have an early morning flight. We were lucky to have found a driver that took us everywhere where we could have a cocktail and dinner and not worry about driving home. The birds in the morning were incredible. First morning saw two Macaws.

Casa La Cima was an excellent home, great location, beautiful setting (sunrise on one side/sunset on the other). Amazing sunsets 🌅, we felt very safe and Carlos was available to us if we needed.

Where is Playa Hermosa, Puntarenas?

While there are two Playa Hermosa beaches in Costa Rica, with one in Guanacaste, Puntarenas's Playa Hermosa rests along the country's west coast and is about 3 miles south of Jacó.

Things to do in Playa Hermosa, Puntarenas

Playa Hermosa, Puntarenas is known for its ideal surf and stunning jungle views. While the waves are not gentle enough for swimming, there’s plenty of scenery to enjoy with a stroll along the sand. The area attracts surfers from all over the world and is host to the Quicksilver International Surfing competition every August.

You’ll find a small collection of shops, bars, and restaurants in town, which allows the area to retain its remote and commercial-free atmosphere. If you’re looking for a day in the city, Jacó is only 3 miles away, bustling with activities and nightlife.

If hanging loose isn’t your thing, no problem. Playa Hermosa is also just a 45-minute drive from Manuel Antonio National Park, which is well worth the trip. The 7,000-acre stretch of land is one of the most popular spots in Costa Rica for its guided trails, breathtaking views, jungle animals, and four beaches for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing.
