Historic dog-friendly home w/ sun room and private deck, steps to golfing

Until July 15, 2020, Vermont properties can only accept bookings from Vermont residents, those who have met the 14 day quarantine requirement, or those engaged in essential or other authorized work in Vermont.

Escape to scenic New England with a stay in this adorable two-story clapboard home. Adorned with a private deck, a beautiful sun room, and a superb location just steps from the golf course, this dog-friendly Manchester vacation rental is a welcome retreat any time of the year.

The house is tucked away in the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains, in the southwestern corner of the state, making it an ideal home base for hiking, fly fishing, biking, or other outdoor adventures. You're also just across the street from the picturesque Equinox Golf Course, where you can practice your swing in the shadow of the rolling Vermont hills. And if it's history you're after, make sure to pay a visit to Hildene, a renovated mansion once home to Abraham Lincoln.

This cute, historic home also provides a lovely place to lay low and relax during your stay. In the fall, watch the trees change color from the comfort of your front porch or the handsome sun room around back, or do some stargazing with the telescope. When the winter snows fall, build a fire in the wood-burning fireplace and curl up with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book.

Cable and free WiFi are both provided, and the kitchen is equipped with modern appliances to make fixing meals a cinch. And for a small nightly fee, you can even bring your dogs along to join in the memory-making!

With such a charming atmosphere, you'll feel at home here in no time. Book your reservation for this comfortable Manchester rental today, and get ready to fall in love.

The house is great and inviting. The big problem is that we did not sleep well. The mattress are really bad, so bad that we decided to finish our vacation at home. It is not the first complaint and no improvement has been made.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Andree. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement, and we'll pass your comments to the owner for consideration. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

This house is in a great location and has lots of character. It's bigger than it looks in the photos and I would rent this place again.

This antique house is well maintained but If you are a neat freak that likes brand new luxury I would not recommend it.

This is our second month long stay, and we've reserved again for next year. Love the location, it's proximity (50 steps) to the best yoga studio, and the size and comfort of the home. It's not perfect, matresses need to be updated, and could be a bit cleaner, but the price is fair. I hope we can return year after year.
Manager response:
Pamela, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us! Please know that local staff is in the area available to assist guests if there is anything that you may need while in the home. We look forward to hosting you next time!

This house was very comfortable, close to everything and had a beautiful view of the golf course and mountains behind it. We would stay here again.

Beautiful home with lots of character and detail. Great location, even though it is located on Main Street, it is set back so you can barely hear the traffic. Lots of space, perfect for a family of 4 or even 5. Everything we needed was there, Would love to come back in the winter to enjoy the immense fireplace after a day of cross country skiing.

Our women’s group spent the weekend and it offered everything we needed. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, view of the mountains from the sun porch and proximity to town.

Beautiful, charming old house is all about location, location and location.

The house was wonderful in an amazing setting. It fit our 7 person family perfectly. It was very clean and well stocked. We really enjoyed our time in Vermont and wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend this house and area.

The 1830 house is conveniently located near shopping, restaurants and the Lincoln family home. It’s an old home which means it’s full of character and charm. Very clean and easy to access.

We arrived at the house and it has not been cleaned since the previous renters (which, based on a note left on the kitchen counter from the previous renters, was over a month ago). After calling Vacasa and informing them, a cleaning person was sent over. We had to wait outside for 2.5 hours (beyond our check-in time) while the cleaning person cleaned the house. This experience gave me and my guests significantly negative first impression.

After the cleaning person was finished, we were able to enjoy the house. The living rooms are big and cozy. The back deck has a spectacular view of the Green Mountains.
Manager response:
We sincerely apologize for the housekeeping oversight; we would like to assure our guests these situations are rare, and we address them quickly as possible when they do occur. This guest was refunded for the inconvenience. We are glad to see the home itself was enjoyable!

This chalet is cosy and spacious at the same time. I've had a great weekend with my friends here and I would totally recommend it to groups of people who want to go skiing to the nearby Stratton.

We've been coming to Manchester for the holiday break for nearly 20 years. We spent many New Years across the street at the Equinox but as our family expanded to include girlfriends and spouses, we began renting area homes. We've had many unique experiences but this one was among the beautiful old stately homes surrounding The Equinox. The house is large and rambling. It is evident where the original house stood and where it was added on. The main room is very large with multiple comfortable seating areas and a large fireplace. There is a formal dining room with a hidden passage to the second floor. My favorite space was the bright, light-filled Kitchen and sunroom with beautiful views overlooking the golf course and mountains. The second floor is an odd configuration, having to pass through one bedroom to get into the other until we located the back stairs. The house is old with quirks and imperfections but for me, this added to the experience and charm.

Excellent location on beautiful Main Street. The house was very comfortable
and very well equipped. Plenty of space and it was wonderful to have a nice fireplace. Thanks for sharing your home.

This home was perfect for a quick fall getaway. It is a great location close to hiking, shopping and restaurants, and we really wnjoyed our stay. The house has all the charm of New England, and was great for our family.

Such a great place to stay - so much more wonderful than some resort...we loved this house

About a week before our arrival, we were emailed all the details about entry, parking, internet and contacts. The home was located in a convenient and quiet location surrounded by trees. It is an older home with all the quirks and charms. The home is big with many large windows, but the home was warm and comfortable. The land in back drops, so the first floor is high off the ground. There is a separate apartment in the basement in the back. Furniture was stylish, comfortable and appropriate for the home. Bed and bath linens were provided. Internet and TV/cable access all worked. We brought our own Blu-ray player which easily hooked up to the flat-screen TV in the living room. The kitchen provided all the appliances and most cooking/eating supplies you will need for your stay. Washer and dryer in basement. We enjoyed sitting by the wood fireplace each night with a roaring fire (firewood can be purchased at the local grocery stores). We ate breakfast every morning in the enclosed sun-room off the kitchen that overlooked the golf course and Green Mountains to the East. There is also a big wooden deck off the sun-room. There are four bedrooms upstairs, three with beds and one with a sleep sofa. There are three bathrooms. There was only the two of us in this big home, but a party of six or eight would find plenty of space and rooms to spread out and be alone, without feeling cramped. So much nicer to come back each night to a beautiful New England home with all the comforts and space, rather than a hotel room. We loved our stay here, and I'm sure you will too.

Enough said. We decided we would have probably stayed at the Hampton. It was a nice place but we decided old hose are not our thing.

It's was a lovely house in a great location. Very much what we wanted to imbibe the lovely vermont countryside and atmosphere.
