Recent April 2024 Total Solar Eclipse vacation rental reviews

Our party of 5 had plenty of space in our 2 bed/2bath condo. The condo was spacious, nicely decorated and had all of the amenities needed. The fitness center and pool were used and enjoyed. The location was good for what we had planned and right around the corner from Rainey Street. It is important to note that there is a lot of construction in the area so there is a lot of noise.

The house was nice-new construction and clean and a great size for a family of 5. The community was nice but a little odd; we didn’t see any staff or other occupants the first 2 days of our trip, meaning we had the pool to ourselves, but no staff there to clean it, the slides were closed, no pool towels, debris in the water, the bar/restaurant remained closed etc. Our teenager aptly described it as the beginning of a horror movie where things are good but weird (totally vacant). On the third day the bar opened for a few hours and we saw a staff member and a few other kids. The slides remain closed throughout our stay, though the pool was cleaned well days 3-5 of our stay. The marina on site doesn’t offer rentals, the little shop never opened by the admin office, and once staff began arriving they were still sparse. My biggest drawback though is the location—it is so remote that going into Austin, or anywhere, was a chore. I found zip lining less than 10 miles away, but it was a 47 min projected drive away due to the locale, and this was the theme all week. If we had known, we could’ve planned activities very differently for a family with kids; we didn’t end up doing many things we had planned when we came to Austin due to the distance. If you’re looking for remote destination to relax and unwind; and aren’t worried about city or grocery access, this could be an amazing getaway. The property has pretty lake views, a marina, and a pool, hot tub, and lazy river. The cypress trees are beautiful and make great backdrops for photos. The community is gated and well maintained. Internet worked well, the full kitchen was great to have and use. We enjoyed the ping pong table and balcony as well.

The room and amenities were perfect. Great location to explore with all the hot spots in Austin close by. Highly recommend!
