Make your family feel right at home at this previous Coast Guard Station property, where you'll enjoy a dog-friendly space, a wonderful location one block from the beach, and shared access to a historical property with a gazebo, a firepit, and a charcoal grill.
This ground-floor duplex apartment sits mere steps from the beach, on a historical property that it shares with an upstairs apartment (the two-bedroom Upper Deck) and a main house (the two-bedroom Keeper's Quarters, which was formerly the Klipsan Beach Life Saving Station and the 309 Coast Guard Station). Please note that these three spaces can be rented all together as the five-bedroom 309 Historic Coast Guard Station with space for more guests.
No matter the size of your group, you'll spend your vacation days surfing and building sandcastles on the wide, sandy beach just over a block west, digging for the famous razor clam in Long Beach eight miles south, and using the provided binoculars to observe the local bald eagles overhead.
Begin each morning by lighting a fire in the wood-burning fireplace, reading the sports section at the breakfast bar, and making homemade espresso in the full kitchen (with a dishwasher). Take your dogs outside to the dog run in the large, shared yard (please note that a two-dog limit and a nightly fee apply), use the free WiFi to follow the ocean tides, and spend your afternoons cooking on the communal charcoal grill and dining at the picnic table on the patio. Each evening, you can gather around the shared firepit to roast marshmallows and choose from hundreds of movies to watch on the TV, VCR, and DVD player.
