There's nothing like an old-school, back-country vacation to rejuvenate the mind and relax the body, to take you away from the constant stimulus of the city and into the quiet of the forest. What better way to experience Oregon's natural beauty then by staying in this gorgeous Mt. Hood vacation rental? Set at the base of Mt. Hood, you'll be surrounded on all sides by foliage and the gorgeous sloping mountainside.
Located only a few minutes away from Welches, a resort town on the western slope of Mt. Hood, this lovely chalet in the Timberline Rim community is bright and spacious, with plenty of natural light and rustic mountain charm. Enjoy a large outdoor deck with patio furniture and a grill, perfect for summer nights of BBQ, drinks, and games of cards while the sun sets and the stars come out. You also have a garage to store your car, your kayak, your dirt bikes, or whatever other accessories you decided to bring with you.
With warm patterns, leather furniture, and blonde wood furnishing, this home is all about extreme mountain comfort. Enter from a foliage-lined path into the living space, with a gorgeous leather couch and a wood-burning stove. Enjoy the antique mountain decor, like the tree-ring table and the vintage wooden canoes displayed on the wall (please do not touch or take down from the wall - these are for decoration only).
Enjoy a kitchen meant for bustling and socializing - with the counter space and appliances set against the wall, there's plenty of standing room for cocktails or spontaneous dance parties. You have all the necessary appliances to make incredible family favorites, and with a dishwasher and a coffee maker, everything from the start of the morning to the end of the day is quick and easy. The round, glass-topped dining table sits six comfortably. There are skylights to catch the sun throughout the day, and windows looking out onto the woods ringing your backyard.
The down stairs bedroom has a futon that comfortably sleeps two people, or can be set up in its couch position for a quiet reading/napping room. The second floor master bedroom has a queen-sized sleigh bed that is over looking the back yard. Down the hall past another full size bathroom is the third bedroom with three beds - a set of twin bunks and a full-sized trundle. All the rooms maintain that mountain comfort with geometric patterns and wilderness themes including bears dancing across the bedspreads and mountain scene throws. With two full bathrooms, one on each floor, you'll almost never have to wait in line for the shower in the morning. All in all, this home sleeps six people.
This Timberline rental has amazing amenities, including access to the activity lodge that is shared by the neighborhood: enjoy a fitness center, tennis courts, and a pool on those hot summer days. This house has its own washer/dryer in the hall down from the kitchen for easy cleaning. This is an ideal vacation home for those looking to get away from everything: currently, the home has no cable service available, and cellphone service is spotty. There is a TV with DVD player for movie nights, though, so you won't have to completely unplug.
You will never be left bored, however, with the amazing hiking, biking, and exploring opportunities awaiting you right outside your front door. Need a break from the forest-dwelling? Head to Welches and have some tee time at the Courses Golf Club, or get a massage at one of the resorts, and take a shopping trip to the Thriftway for those much-needed power snacks for hiking.
This is a great getaway spot for a group of friends looking to bond, or a small, multi-generational family enjoying a long weekend together. Come to the mountains and forget about the real world: this home is meant for clearing your mind and breathing as deeply as you can.
Please note this is a completely non-smoking and pet-free property.
