No hot tub at all, trundle beds that are not comfortable, no seating in the "living area" other than a lousy sofa, dirty two burner stove that we were afraid to cook on, no dishwasher, no view, no closets or hangers and hard to find due to poor directions. All that plus you had to go through one of the "bedrooms" to get to the bathroom. Once was enough for us. I am anticipating a refund on the non-existent hot tub that was the reason I booked it!
We are very sorry this guest was misinformed about a hot tub at this location. We do not advertise a hot tub or dishwasher and apologize our guest was disappointed by not having these things. The beautiful view of the bay is just around the corner, and the stove works well. Thank you!
The view was great! The hot tub was nice, but not private. The main house windows are in full view. The hot tub lock was difficult to lock/unlock and no longer had the combination lock as outlined in the directions. There is an open access beach trail, but the trail is very difficult to get down and requires ropes to help your descent to the beach. The trail is muddy and the pavers are not stable and it’s not safe for children. There was a tent on the corner of the premises that was strewn about, along with it’s contents. No visitors at all allowed unless previously agreed upon, even for day visitors, very strict rules. Starting a load of towel laundry is greatly appreciated. The cleaning fee is expensive for requesting laundry detail. No dishwasher
After discussions with our owner, we have determined not to advertised this home as having beach access at this point in time due to the current condition of the trail. We have also provided a warning in the home of the state of the beach trail. We apologize for the tent strewn about by the neighboring property; this has been dealt with. The main home the hot tub is by is for the homeowner's use and rarely occupied. Thank you!
This was a great location for us to use to explore the southern/central Oregon coast at our leisure. Kitchenette, laundry facilities, and plenty of bed options to fit your family's needs.
Cute home, great view from the hot tub. The check in was easy. The home was well stocked with what you need.
Hot tub was nice but right behind another occupied home which was a bit awkward. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of dishes and utensils. Shower pressure was good and never ran out of hot water. Path to the beach is almost impossible to use unless you want to get super muddy or fall down. Parking was ok but listing says 2 cars and we had trouble with one.
I loved the secluded location, the quiet, the beautiful view of the water, the hot tub and the variations of outdoor spaces. The picture and description was very honest. I got what I expected.
loved the view, privacy was good, great sunsets
Very nice cottage. Plenty of towels, dishes, etc. A few light bulbs were out and the electrical sockets need upgraded but over all a nice place. We had access to the hot tub but did not use, looked in good shape. Nice access to grassy back yard over looking the bay, nice view.
Ran across a couple of deer on the access road to the property. Pet friendly a plus. Directions were spot on.
The home itself is nice. It's cute, as represented. The washer and dryer are nice clean units. I would recommend bringing basic seasonings, as the moisture causes the ones in the home to be unusable. I feel that the shared driveway should also be disclosed upfront. Parking and navigating were fine until others arrived to use the other homes. I wish the hot tub situation had been better disclosed. I feel that if I had known that the hot tub was shared, I would have kept looking. I paid a $40 fee for a shared hot tub. Further, the path down to the bay is dangerous. It needs to be fixed.
Had everything we needed in a Thanksgiving getaway (did not cook at home). 4 stars as bay/water access was not as easy as pictures make it look.
Once we found it this was perfect for my bridal party.. enough space for all and very comfortable.
Nice, clean, comfortable little cabin close to Coos Bay. Yard is big and the kids enjoyed the hot tub!
Very quiet little house. Easy to find. Nice, clean hot tub. Plenty of linens and kitchen appliances and accessories. Easy access to town and main roads, shopping and services. Central location between Bandon and Florence, and golf courses!
not far from the towns of Coos Bay and North Bend. Quiet neighborhood. Great sunset view from the hot tub.
This is a quaint home for a couple and kids or singles. There is only one double bed but worked just fine for us. Perfect location and very homey. I would stay here again.
This beach house very cozy clean spot to spend our time exploring the coast. Better than a hotel! Very comfy bedsOnly the beach is not accessible from property.
No beach access. Great place to stay for a small family. Easy drive to places to site see
Great little place while visiting family in the area. It was plenty spacious for my husband and I and our two dogs, but I would think the reported maximum occupancy of 7 would be crowded.
We loved the secluded location, yet it was close to town.
We came for crabbing so we didn't expect to spend much time at the house. I like the location because it is kind of hidden and safe feeling. The house isn't fancy but very clean. As one of the other comments, I agree it's nice for 2 or 3 people. Great location for my Great Dane who is gentle but tends to scare people from her size. I liked not having to worry about that. The access to water was not accessible for us, maybe it's a seasonal thing. In all, it was what we needed for why we came.
The beach access from that house was limited but had a great view of the Bay
The house was a little small but cozy
This rental is dated but very clean and in good repair. The beds are comfortable but know that the room with the sliding doors with twin bed and trundle has to be walked through to get to the bathroom. We had 2 adults and 4 kiddos (15, 12, 8, 3) and we were very comfortable. The dinning table has 6 chairs and there is an outside dining table with 6 chairs as well. The view is beautiful but all outside space is shared, including the hot tub. The listing shows it as private and will list that there is a code to get into it, there is not. Anyone can walk up and use it. The frustrating part is that this rental pays a hot tub fee, when the other doesn't. The main house seems to be a private home for the owner whom was not there when we were. Would be nice if they closed the curtains when not home so you knew for sure and could respect their privacy. It felt weird sitting on the deck looking into their personal space. The beach access is very steep and very difficult to maneuver for small children, older folks but it's only to the beach of the bay anyway, not the ocean. Overall we would stay again and recommend it to friends now knowing what to expect. I think the listing needs to be updated with accurate information about the common space. Be sure to check out the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston (about 10 mins away), it is inexpensive and super neat for the whole family!
We apologize that the hot tub situation was not more clear for this reservation. The hot tub is private for the guest house and is not to be used by people in the cottage. We will follow-up with housekeeping to make sure that they are locking the hot tub after it is cleaned so that only those with the hot tub code can access it.
It's a small place, cramped for 6 people, but a great place that has what you need for a weekend getaway
This property is at the very end of a road tucked back from view. The sunsets are amazing and the trail down to the secluded beach is a cool surprise. Hot tub location over looking the water is very cool.
The Hot tub is great! The house is small but comfortable, it has everything you need. The location is handy to everything. It is private and quiet! Enjoyed the place.
We really enjoyed the fire and view from the patio and would love to rent the main house for stormy weather.
We really enjoyed our stay at the guest house and highly recommend it. It had lots of privacy and thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Looking for dinning was a little tricky. Many of the places we were interested in were closed on Sunday. We also highly recommend taking the drive to the national red wood forest it was amazing.
The location in the woods is great. All appliances worked fine. Not a place to stay with very many people -- there is only one sofa and the dining chairs to sit on.
Quaint little place! Small for 6pp but easily definitely doable. More instructions on where lock box is like behind the gate and not having the Alarm System on the day of arrival or information on how to turn off would have been good information. The place was fine we will most likely come back. The hot tub was awesome to have after riding all day awesome view. Let us know when the big house comes available.
We loved the out door areas of this little rental. Both the fire pit and the hot tub were well used. They are very close to the main house which wasn't occupied while we were there or we probably wouldn't have felt so comfortable. The inside was adequate for our family of four. they had everything we needed to be comfortable.
This was my first time renting from vacasa and I would do it again in a heart beat. The staff was great and when I had a problem with the house alarm the staff was helpful and made sure the issue was fixed not only did they call to confirm the house keeper showed up to confirm. That was a nice touch. What the listing does not tell you is this property is next to the owners home the hot tub has a great view BUT is literally ten feet from the owners house. Its weird they have all there curtains open so you look right in their house while hot tubbing. The owner was not there during my stay but if they had been the vacation home rental would have been a bust. Beach access is a fail you can get down to the beach but its not a safe trail unless you have beach rock experience and are in great shape. The bathroom is off the the "third" bedroom, was okay for my son to use as a room but it has no privacy due to people having to walk through the room to use the rest room. We made a sheet wall which was pretty ghetto for a vacation rental. As far as a pet friendly affordable rental goes this was great as I was in town to visit family. If I had come for a beach ocean property experience I would have been disappointed. The cottage was very clean when we arrived. This was welcoming.
It was like home away from home. My children loved staying there and can't wait to go back.
Overall it was a good property, the best visits are fairly close: Sunset Bay, Shore Acres, and Cape Arago. If you are not a dune-riding enthusiast, there is not much else here to keep your attention in the town.
The property is in good condition, though the guest house we stayed in was a bit musty and does need some updating (think 70s/early 80s), it was in a quiet spot at the end of a short gravel road. Though the airport was just across the bay, we only heard 2 planes fly over which wasn't too bad and not bothersome. The hot tub was very nice and enjoyable and overlooked the bay. The location has some very dilapidated steps down to the water which is nifty, but the walk down is very dangerous and difficult or impossible for this with limited mobility or joint pain.
This cabin is surprisingly roomy and has all you need for a nice family vacation. We enjoyed hanging out on the comfy sofa and relaxing after a long days adventure. It is decorated and organized to feel like a real home. The full size fridge and kitchenette made low cost meals easy. The big rainstorm was very cozy to listen to from our snug beds. Plenty of room to play bored games and to do cartwheels on the lawn. My only caution is the there is a steep drop off and small children would need to be watched closely.
