This home was conveniently located and well equipped with good quality kitchen tools. We rented both units that were connected by a pocket door. It was nice to have two kitchens. The neighborhood had ample homeless people but security was good. There were ants but they provided non-toxic ant spray. Hot water seemed insufficient upstairs but ample downstairs. I would definitely rent again
Manager response:
Thank you for your feedback, Linda! We do have a pest control plan, but we add the non-toxic pest spray due to California regulations. Hopefully we'll see you again soon!

This house was in the top 3 houses we have stayed with in the VRBO network. We have been doing these rentals for many years and have a wide variety of experiences. Our Kids apply named the house the "Pink Lady" and it was an immediate favorite. Well designed interiors,, great amenities and decent cleanliness. THe historical Victorian charm is second to none, and the view of the Carson Mansion and the Boats on the bay are wonderful... There is only ONE watch out!!! There are many homeless and drugged out people walking and sleeping in the area. Everyday we had someone walking and yelling at ghosts, wird characters trying to start a conflict, or even random people practicing their "whipping" technique with an actual whip. So obviously you cannot venture out at night without protection, and be careful walking.
However, if you do walk, once you get to the old town Eureka it is decent enough during daylight.
Manager response:
Hi, Peter! We are so glad you enjoyed your accommodations and appreciate your feedback. As with many cities in America, we struggle with homeless in Eureka. this home does have a door lock and a deadbolt with keys in a lockbox for guest safety, and the homeless in our area are non-violent. Police are also vigilant and patrol the area frequently. Thank you!
