Originally a watertower (from which it gets its name) with the Fensalden Inn, this historic cottage is full of character with a second sleeping area in the loft, and gorgeous panoramic ocean views from the eight-acre property!

Just nine miles south of Mendocino, you'll enjoy a peaceful retreat near the ocean. There are three other vacation rental units on the property including a smaller house, (and the owners live in main house), but all have separate parking and offer a lot of privacy!

Originally built as a stagecoach stop in the 1860s, this wonderful coastal cottage has a unique history and is full of antiques - it feels like stepping back in time! Inside, you'll be treated to exposed wood beams and tall ceilings. There is no TV, but there is WiFi and a CD player.

The kitchen includes all the basics like a stove-top/oven, sink, small refrigerator, and microwave. And while you'll need to do dishes by hand, you can always let the pots and pans soak while you take a walk after dinner and view a stunning sunset over the ocean!

The bedroom downstairs has access out to the deck. This room is light and airy, with a queen-size bed and antique-style furnishings and there are two bathrooms on this main level, as well.

Upstairs, you'll find the loft-style second bedroom with another queen bed and a tall, slanted ceiling. This vacation home can sleep up to four guests comfortably.

Outside on the deck, there are spots for relaxing and enjoying the cool coastal breeze. Ideal for unplugging and relaxing, this oceanview home is perfect for a family or two couples traveling the scenic California coast together.

Guests are welcome to hike and roam around the full property (which features three other rentals) and there's a lot of room for kids to run and play. The ocean is less than one mile from your door, but from the property you'll have great water views.

Visit nearby Anderson Valley for wineries like Toulouse Vineyards (26 miles) and the Phillips Hill Tasting Room (22 miles), and right in the small town of Albion you'll find a couple of cafes and a grocery store, but there are many more choices just a few minutes north in Mendocino.

Both rocky and sandy beaches are nearby, as are activities like hiking and biking. Mendocino offers galleries and breweries and Fort Bragg, just 19 miles from your door, has even more shops, restaurants, and galleries.
