We absolutely loved the house, and the special hospitality of the owner. The place was truly peaceful, clean, and we experienced an amazing bonus by watching the elk and turkeys on the property. This is the second year weve stayed..
Martin W.Oct 2019
We loved the spacious, quaint and very clean house, including a full kitchen! Enjoyed breakfast on the patio every morning, and a beautiful bonfire with S'mores at the fire pit, listening to the elk calling out to each other!

We loved this place. It was so big and roomy. Great bath tub. Kids loved playing with the farm dog. Price was great for the space

I absolutely loved my stay here! It was welcoming and cozy!

Set in a canyon on a ranch with beautiful views. Great open floor plan. Close to redwood forest and Oregon coast. Will stay here again when we come back!

Beautiful, serene, cows lowing with new babies. Ina the friendly dog. The hummingbirds zooming around
Mark W.Nov 2018
The property is 5.7 miles up the hill from Oregon Coast Hwy 101, along a twisting road. The exterior is beautiful, and there are hummingbirds, turkeys, and deer roaming around the property. The interior is enormous, well-maintained, and extremely clean. We only wish we had brought more people and stayed longer.

This is a lovely, spacious home in a rustic, peaceful setting. We sat on the porch and watched the sunset and spent quiet, undisturbed evenings inside. It's close enough to Brookings that we were able to get to the store or the beach easily. Would definitely stay here again!
Loved the convenience. We are looking forward to the next time we can go to extend our stay. Relaxing and comfortable.

Lots of room & fully furnished kitchen which was nice.

Beautiful view, but the tub did not plug when we tried to take a bath and obvious water damage makes me think of black mold by front door where the kitchen table is but other than that beautiful home we LOVED IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH. We will recommend this place to others! There is a bed and breakfast on site great food!
We have discussed the water damage with the owner and replaced the bathtub plugs. Thank you!

We loved staying at the guest house for three days with our two kids we had a lot of fun! Enjoyed the views too! Good place for a get away from work

The house was great. Very comfortable and in a good location. Had a little trouble finding it....not the driveway, but the house itself. We arrived after dark and had not been given enough information to know where on this large property the house was. It is a very long, steep dirt driveway, with several buildings and the house is at the very end. In the daytime it would probably be easier to find. But do not recommend arriving after dark.

The house was so much bigger than I thought. Loved how it was decorated. It felt like home. I would definitely recommend & I’d love to stay again
Jeff W.Aug 2018
Loved the fact that it was up the river and out of the way. Very secluded, quiet, pretty views. The only complaint I have is that the water pressure was a bit low, wasn’t really a problem though.
Robert K.Aug 2018
We enjoyed the relaxed environment of this spot. The cattle on the hill, the foothills of the mountain, and the warm atmosphere of the guest house were very welcoming. Also being close to town and the coast was a bonus.

Although more outside of the actual town of Brookings than I thought (we had never been to the area), it was totally worth the extra 5-10 minutes up the hill. We rented the vacation house part of this property (2 beds and 2 bathrooms) for our party of 5 (three adults, two kids). It was very spacious and VERY WELL kept. When we go back to Brookings, it will be our first choice of places to stay!

Everything you need is provided. Just bring food. Bring an apple for a cow. The road is sportcar heaven: winding back into the hills above the river. Classic Oregon rural country with a fine home 5 miles in.
Cynthia C.Jul 2018
Very comfortable home. Everything we needed was available to use. Wish it had a patio table and a few chairs to sit outside.
Clint B.Jul 2018
Tons of room. Clean, nice place. Driveway was a bit steep, but we knew that going in. Just a heads up. Would have been nice if DVD player worked. A couple of full-sized skillets would have helped. Kids loved the fish, cats, chickens, cows, and dog. The drive out to the house was a bit long, but very pretty.
Erica A.Jul 2018
This was a nice, larger home. Things I had wished someone would have said, this house is up a curvey road, and it's a 15 minute drive from when you start up the road. Water pressure is low. So be aware of that when planning a shower. The ace was nice, pleasant fly of room for our family. Some spider webs and someone's dirty underwear were under the sofa. The place was over all clean but you can tell it isn't someone's second home, just a rental. Furniture is old, but in decent shape. Would I stay there again? Yeah, probably.
Marleen W.May 2018
This is a two bedroom, two bath property with lots of space. This would be ideal for families. It is six and a half miles up the Chetco River on a large farm with cows, hens, a dog, and cats wandering around.
Dawn W.May 2018
The house was so beautiful! The kids had a blast playing outside. Everything you could possibly need was provided and everyone we encountered was friendly. We will definitely be back
Margarita F.May 2018
The location is beautiful and quite. The home was lovely and welcoming. We loved watching cow feed their baby and the chickens roaming freely.
Nicholas A.Apr 2018
Loved everything about this place from the proximity to the redwoods to the animals roaming the property. Stayed here to visit the redwood national forest and was a good 20 minute drive away, but was great to come back to somewhere at night and rest. Extremely quiet and a great getaway from everything. Highly recommend to others

5.7 miles from HWY 101, beautiful location with a view and a roomy, we'll decorated house.
Roger J.Aug 2017
This was an amazing experience and exactly what we were looking for. The host was fantastic and extremely accommodating. We are still in all that she is managing this property single-handedly. Although we were only there for a short time, I would highly recommend this for someone who is looking to get away from an urban environment.
Anna Marie G.Aug 2017
This was a great stay! Beautiful surroundings and very comfortable beds. Lots of space and interesting critters (cats, koi fish, chickens, cows, and a lovely dog!) for the toddler, adults and seniors to enjoy. Carol was very communicative about everything going on and even brought over a freshly-made jar of blackberry jam!

It was our first time renting a vacation home so we weren't sure what to expect. But my wife and I and 2 kids and my Parents were planning on staying in Brookings and for the price of 2 hotel rooms we were able to rent a house with a kitchen and save on food expense. It's a short drive up the chetco but gets you out of the marine layer. Salmon Run golf course is close if you like to golf. The driveway is a little rough going but when you get to the house, it has a beautiful view of the valley below. It is a small farm so expect livestock. But very quiet and it is attached to a B&B but the house itself is really spacious. Beds are comfortable and everything works great. Was really clean when we arrived and the washer and drier were nice. We would definitely stay again
L Susan W.Jun 2017
It was a beautiful house with lots of room. The only problem I had was the lack of curtains in main bedroom and dining room.
Deidre C.Jun 2017
We wanted a place that we could call home for a week while visiting and did not want the confines of a hotel room. Beautiful natural surroundings, plenty of farm animals to entertain, great Golden Retriever, Zena, to hug if you miss your pets, fantastic views and friendly accomodating owners who always made themselves available for information or any of our needs.
Julie C.May 2017
great place if you can drive up the muddy, rocky hill to the top
Rabecca H.Mar 2017
Very clean and roomy for four of us.
We'll stay again if we ever come back to Brookings!

If you don't mind a short drive to the beach it is a very nice place, very clean, very spacious. My family enjoyed our time there. We went in January, I'll bet it's beautiful in the spring and summer.
