House was amazing!! As soon as I arrived I knew I was going to enjoy it. Everything was clean, super quit and friendly environment. Different will tell my friends and family about it and if the time comes again I will definitely book this place again.

Staff went above and beyond to help make our stay as enjoyable as possible!

I decided to wait 4 days before I wrote this review so that I could write an honest review about my family and I’s stay at the MMCabin. I’ll start off by admitting that I should have done more research about the area and what activities we’d actually enjoy before booking our stay.

The drive to the MMCabin: The drive wasn’t too bad there wasn’t tons of traffic however my family and I decided to drive up there a bit early so that we could see what was in the area so that might’ve been why.

Near the MMCabin: As we got closer to arriving at the MMCabin we quickly came to the realization that we were quite a bit isolated I’m not referring to the neighbors because they were within walking distance but more towards the stores near. 8 mins away from the MMCabin there was the Midway Village and Grocery the store was quite small but for the most part had what was needed. 10 mins away from MMCabin was also Just Plain Grocery & Gas; we’re from Oregon so it was quite shocking to find out that you needed to pump your own gas anywhere in the area but it was something we quickly overcame. Inside the store similar to the Midway Village and Grocery it was small, it had more snacks then it does actual food which is understandable seeing as it’s a gas station. Those were the only stores we knew of that weren’t a bit far from the Cabin. Safeway was 32 mins away we chose not to go there however because of how much traffic was there at times. Near Safeway there was fast food and what not so it’s really the last place that you’ll see any of those stores before continuing on your way to the MMCabin. 12 mins away from MMCabin was Lake Wenatchee it was beautiful but packed with people so we chose not to go there during our trip.

Arriving at the MMCabin: As we pulled into the drive way I have to say that although it is a Cabin and it needs too look and feel woodsy it looked like the landscape just needed some work. We also quickly noticed that the “building” in front of the MMCabin had a camera pointing right at the front of the house which made us feel uncomfortable though we tried to think of it as a plus for safety. As we entered the house there was a sign asking that everyone please take their shoes off inside the house which once again I understand that certain rentals have rules and therefore we try and abide by all of them because overall this is someone else’s property but I just feel that whether someone chooses to take their shoes off or not is more of a comfort thing and also it just one of those rules that kinda make you realize even more that you’re staying at someone else’s property and takes away from the idea that you’re on a vacation. Regardless we took our shoes off and placed them in a corner within the house and in that same corner were pictures of the family who owns the property. I can’t begin to express how quickly this trip began to feel like we were suddenly breaking and entering into someone’s home (I’m aware it sounds a bit dramatic but it’s the best way I can think to put it). There were also locks like actual locks around the house which didn’t help at all. Regardless we remained optimistic and wanted to make the best out of the situation. We unpacked and settled into our rooms (although this didn’t really bother us the only bedroom with a door was the downstairs king bedroom. The two bedrooms upstairs had room dividers.) In the Queen bedroom (upstairs to the right) you can hear very clearly and loudly when someone is walking. Which you mostly hear it in the living room but can also hear it from the King bedroom and well at night when you’re trying to sleep it just gets kind of annoying. There aren’t any washer and dryer which was never stated to be on the listing but it was a little bit of an inconvenience because it meant you’d have to pack a little more heavily. At night the only other issue we had that day was the fact that the sliding door for the back porch didn’t have any curtains as well as the front door window and the window above the sink. We personally just would have preferred that there had been some there. The next day at 9 A.M. we were going to eat some breakfast and realized there was no power. We looked to see if we could fix we did everything within our knowledge and when we couldn’t figure it out tried to call the property manager. Now this was something that I really didn’t like and honestly I don’t know if I’m wrong for feeling this way but we reached his voicemail and found out that he would not be available until July 10th the day after our leave. I feel that if you’re going to let someone rent out a property you manage you should try and make yourself available if anything happens similar to the issue we had. The power started working around 10 A.M. and so we just tried to brush it off and move on with our day. We went on a walk and returned sweaty and hot so decided to turn on the AC; there was no AC in the cabin simply a fan which I should have known because it wasn’t listed on the property listing. So everyone showered. Though the actual shower isn’t very friendly for plus sized people. It felt very claustrophobic. Anyways we decided to have a mellow day and sit indoors for the most part. I decided to read what past visitor’s had done during there stay and noticed that the majority of them had stayed at the MMCabin during the winter. There weren’t any activities near that my family and I would have enjoyed so this trip just became a mellow one and we stayed at the Cabin throughout it. We went to check out the Chiwawa river listed on the listing and noticed how strong the current was therefore we didn’t see the point in being there any longer so we returned to the cabin and sat outside. WORST IDEA EVER. The mosquitoes were extremely vicious. Bug repellent did not stop them at all. You couldn’t even make a bond fire due to the risks of it starting an actual fire so there really wasn’t a way to be able to sit outside without getting bit. But because there already wasn’t many activities we’d sit outside and suck it up. The mosquitoes some how began to make it I ndoors which in all honesty at that point having a positive mindset was just not enough so we just packed our things. We left Thursday July 8th at noon after cleaning a day earlier then our anticipated leave. We all left with and average of about 12 mosquito bites each (I’m really not exaggerating).

Overall: I take responsibility for not researching the area and activities available beforehand that was my bad. But it really was a trip that was just not enjoyable. I’m grateful that I was able to spend time with my family even if the circumstances weren’t all that great. I just don’t recommend this Cabin. At the end of our trip I just couldn’t help but feel like I was catfished by the pictures in the listing, whoever the photographer was needs a raise.

This was a quiet mountain cabin, with plenty of nearby hiking and snow explorations, and the great town of Leavenworth close by. The bakery in Leavenworth makes a perfect treat, The cabin was clean and warm, with supplies to make the best of meals.

Easy access to Leavenworth, nice fire pit, a variety of sleep options; we had 6 adults in our party and used the kitchen to prep our meals before a night of board games. Left off one star because cleanliness was lacking.
Manager response:
Hello Neal, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize the home cleanliness was lacking as this is not the high standard of cleanliness that we hold ourselves to. We do hope we have the chance to host you again in the future.

We would have given 5 stars but we had to wait on a plumber to fix a old drain leak in the kitchen sink. We had plans to hike that day but cut
It short to let the Plummer’s in

This cabin was all we hoped it would be, warm and inviting and made us feel right at home! It was everything we were looking for in a cabin , quaint, woodsy feel, like we were visiting a loving relatives home. The upstairs had the cutest “cub den” for our little one to play in, and the room off of it was perfect for our teenagers to avoid us in haha just kidding, but it gave them a great place to relax. The rooms were spacious and beds/pillows were comfortable. Back And front decks made relaxing outside easy, and there was plenty of room to set up outdoor games. I really can’t say enough good things about this cabin. We loved it and are already planning our next trip!

Short drive to Lake Wenatchee or Leavenworth and nearby grocery store. The house and yard we're great with kids.

We had a wonderful time at this property. The home had everything we needed and was perfect for our family of 7. The kids slept upstairs while my wife and I slept downstairs in the master. We watched movies every night, hiked/bikes/swam during the daytime, and enjoyed good home cooked meals at the cabin. The property was very conveniently located 10 mins from Lake Wenatchee and about 30 mins from Leavenworth. We would definitely come to stay here again. Only issue I had was that the property manager never responded to my messages before the trip. So, I just had to call Vacasa to get any questions answered. Otherwise, everything about our trip was wonderful. Thank you!

We loved our stay in this cute cabin in a nice & peaceful community close to a river and to Plain City. A little small, but super cozy and adorable. Thank you!

The cabin was clean and comfortable.

The Cub Den, wild turkeys in the morning, modern conveniences as opposed to "tent camping".
Sonia S. Jul 2020
Nice property, very clean and well equipped. The only thing that was missing was a can opener! If we had noticed earlier, we would have purchased one and left there, but with Covid, all the stores were closed. Note that there is a gas grill on the back porch. We weren't sure, so didn't bring stuff to BBQ. Would stay again. The rooms upstairs would be ideal for a family with young kids.

We had such a great time at Mountain Magic. It was the perfect escape. Over 3 feet of snow fell while we visited but we were cozy and warm in the cabin. Such a beautiful property, and enough room inside to spread out. Highly recommend!
