Beautiful private home on a great lake. The included pontoon boat was great to fish on (boat had built-in bluetooth speakers and a fish finder), on the quiet Presque Isle lake chain. Kitchen had everything you could possibly want. Incredible amounts of towels, blankets, and bed linens to go around. WiFi was plenty strong throughout the property and reasonably fast. House was sparkling clean upon arrival.
This is the Northwoods, so bring plenty of bug spray.
Only complaint is that the AC doesn't work very well on the top floor: the basement would be freezing, the main floor would be perfect, and then the top floor would be hot. Not really a big issue since we didn't spend very much time on the top floor since it's just two bedrooms.

The house exactly as described. Very clean and warm and so beautiful. The kitchen was fully stocked so making meals was a breeze! The garage was heated which was so nice to work on our snowmobiles in. The boys stayed in the room above the garage and loved it! Crossing the lake was the only way to get to the trail, it was long but manageable. I highly suggest this home for a winter getaway!

This property was almost perfect for our long overdue family getaway. It has been newly remodeled and the main floor living area and upstairs bedrooms were great for the 7 out of 9 of us.
The first floor, basement/main entry was always very cold. That area was great for all of our winter gear to be dumped but other than that it was never used. The bathroom/laundry room on this floor was the only room that hadn't been remodeled and was never really used because it was freezing. It did look like the carpet was cleaned before our stay and the damp/cleaner smell never went away.
The room above the garage was great except for the fact there was no bathroom and the garage was not attached to the main house. The 2 girls who stayed in there had some very cold bathroom runs in the middle of the night.
The view, access to the lake was great. It was VERY cold while we were there so not much time was spent outside but being able to look out the wall of windows with the fire going was perfect.

This home is amazing! The house itself was extremely CLEAN and beautifully decorated. Plenty of room and the bunkhouse was pretty cool, too. Everything in the home was perfect...there is not one complaint. The lake was empty and the property is secluded. Great fishing, swimming and boating! The pontoon was a wonderful addition. Beautifully landscaped property. We had a great time! Can`t wait to go back!

Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved that the home came with a pontoon boat as well. Lots of great fishing, bon fires and the house came with plenty of silverware, pots, bowls, etc for cooking. Glad the bunk room over the garage included air conditioning as well. We had some water back up issues when we arrived resulting in being unable to use the bathroom showers our first day, however the owner was very responsive and got the septic pumped the morning of the second day. Going forward this seems like something that should be checked after each stay and dealt with prior to new guests. Outside of this, we enjoyed the home and had plenty of room for 8 adults and 4 kids with the use of the space over the garage.
Thank you for your review, Tiffany. We are glad you enjoyed this home and we appreciate you reaching out to us for assistance with the plumbing issue. We will be sure this issue is corrected for future guests, and we hope to host you again soon!

We really enjoyed this very quiet and secluded space. The cabin was pristine and the bunkhouse was extra fun. The addition of the pontoon was amazing, we used it daily.

The house was very nicely remodeled inside and the owner was very responsive to all communications and helpful with local information. Having the pontoon boat as a part of the rental was a great option and part of the trip as it gave the family something to do daily. The yard is great for the fire at night and well stocked with wood. Overall a good place to stay and enjoy the north woods

What a blast! Great memories made! Loved the property and how secluded it was. Felt like we had our own piece of the lake. The pontoon and kayaks were great to tour the lake and the house had plenty of room for 10 guests. Saw deer, turtles, porcupine and a ton of wildlife.

We had a great time at the cabin with our family. Property was clean and spacious. Having a pontoon and kayaks was a lot of fun for kids and adults as well. Owners were fast responders to any questions we had. We highly recommend this property

I would highly recommend this home. It checks all the boxes. On a lake, with a boat, updated, clean, private location, room to spread out, fire table, bunk house for the kids. We had 2 families with 4 adults (40s) and 5 kids ages 2 - 12. The drive up from Milwaukee are was easy and the scenery was beautiful. The house is exactly as advertised. The property is updated but still has a cabin feel. It is extremely clean and well lit. The bunk house gave the kids a place to call their own. The yard is large with plenty of space to run around and a nice fire table. The lake is shallow and far enough from the house that I wasn`t worried about our 2 year old playing outside. The kids enjoyed fishing and caught quite a bit. They also caught frogs and bugs. We saw deer everyday, loons on the lake and even a bald eagle. The chain of 3 lakes is great! The lake the property is on is small and peaceful, great for fishing. The larger lake was fun to boat around. We stopped at the sand bar and the kids were able to get out and swim in shallow water. The lakes were never busy. The owners were very responsive. I would definitely recommend this property

The spacious cabin and lakefront setting is beautiful, a wonderful retreat to continue social distancing. We saw deer, painted turtles, butterflies, bullfrogs and heard the lullaby of the loons each evening.

Spent a week at this house in early June 2020... beautiful setting and Julie and Joe have done a great job renovating the property. The house itself sits on Van Vliet Lake which connects to the much larger Presque Isle Lake via the small/shallow Averill Lake. Although the fishing wasn`t great (caught only 14 or 15 decent sized fish over 6 days... lots of small panfish, though), we had a great time cruising the lakes in the pontoon boat (a MAJOR plus), biking the extensive local bike trails, and overall just enjoying the quiet Northwoods setting.
