Perfect place for getaway weekend with my best friend. We spent most of our time just hanging around in the house, with a few day trips out. This was a great place for this - so cozy. Good kitchen. Nice spaces to gather. Beds were really comfortable. Only disappointment - we were looking forward to having a fire in the nice fireplace - wood and everything needed was provided! But I could not get the damper open.
Manager response:
Hi Jean, thank you for choosing our home! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry that you had problems opening the damper and we wish we had been informed during your stay to send our staff over to help you. We look forward to hosting you again!

Great location with lake view.. A lot of dark knotty pine and no accessible lighting in bedrooms. There were was not one table spoon in the house.
Manager response:
Hi, Timothy! Thank you for letting us know about your experience. The homeowner will be taking care of the lighting and kitchen inventory before the home reopens in April. We hope to see you then!

Small but nice. Perfect location….right in the middle of everything.

The humidity grab bags cast off a horrible odor. The lighting throughout the cottage was poor especially in bedrooms. The fans in bathroom and over stove was too loud abs should be replaced. On the positive side, the view and location was perfect. We loved sitting by the lake. The beds were comfortable.

Loved being close to the lake! The cottage is cute and quaint with all of the knotty pine. Lots of fans to help keep you comfortable at night. Cable TV, bring your roku or fire stick, if you want to watch your shows. The small deck by the water was a great place to watch the sunset. We brought our SUPs and were able to launch from the dock. The water is clear and and clean to swim in as you access it from the dock.

This was such a delightful cottage to stay in during my trip to Crystal Lake! It was very clean and came prepared with essentials like toilet paper, trash bags, a sponge, dish soap, etc as well as small toiletries in the bathroom. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. The WiFi was reliable and strong which was great considering that I had to work remotely during the weekdays. I particularly enjoyed opening all the windows for a cross breeze and reading on the comfy couch.

One great surprise that was not advertised on VRBO was the back porch! It includes a gas grill and a table that seats six and best of all, it juts off to the side of the house with a beautiful view of the lake. Despite being right up against the bluff, it wasn’t buggy (in early June).

The beach is about 10’ wide and has a small wooden dock. It has a rocky drop down from the sand to the water so it’s not great for wading into but you can certainly enter from the dock.

One thing of note: while this wasn’t a problem for me, it would be for tall people - the house is really short! I’m 5’7” and could easily touch all the ceilings without extending my arms all the way. If you’re 6’, you might spend your stay crouching.

I look forward to hopefully staying here again on future trips up north!
