Loved the location

I thought the house had a great layout, was in a quiet part of town, great walkability to food and beach access both, etc. having a view of the lighthouse is also fantastic, especially in the evenings. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed ready to go upon arrival. I would’ve preferred a keyless entry lock on the main door but that’s not a dealbreaker by any means! This house is an absolute gem and I really loved using both decks in the early evenings. This house also allowing for pets was a great convenience for both me and my dog. Thank you Pirates Light!!!

We went to fish and enjoy the beach. We found everything that we needed

The house is big and has potential to be great, however it was not well cleaned at all, dirty dishes in the cupboards, and many things were not working properly. the listing pictures and description are about a decade out of date, judging by the size of the front bushes, so the whole place is just not as nice as it looks online. no volleyball court. window screens all busted or missing. downstairs rugs smell of damp dog. friendly staff though.
Manager response:
We are so sorry to read this rental has become so tired after the busy summer. We do have deep cleans and maintenance inspections scheduled this fall. Thank you!

The house is nice enough and quite big. But unfortunately it and everything in it is very dated. From furniture to kitchen equipment to games to really the whole interior of the house. Everything, even including the backyard, could use a major update. The downstairs is also quite smelly. When we arrived the house was not cleaned well, but that was immediately addressed when we reported this. Thank you for that. Location is fine with just a few minutes walk to the beach and "downtown" Buxton.
Manager response:
Thank you for your thoughtful review, Juergen. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment in the condition and cleanliness of our home. Please know that our local staff is always available to assist when concerns such as this arise and we would have been very happy to address these issues had we been notified during your stay. We have passed your comments along to our local manager who will work with the homeowner and housekeeping staff on all necessary upgrades and changes in the cleaning process. We hope to have the chance to better impress you in the future.

This house is just okay. The kitchen isn’t super well stocked - didn’t have a crock pot so we bought and left one behind for future vacationers. The house also needs a good deep clean, but bathrooms and kitchen were clean. The master bed was really comfortable so that was a plus. The location is a very short walk to the beach and being close to lighthouse road was nice for ORV.
Manager response:
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, Jennifer. We are glad you enjoyed this location and we appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement. We have scheduled an inventory to check for any needed kitchen items as well as a deep cleaning. We hope for another chance to impress you!
