Updated Dog-Friendly Cabin in a Secluded Area - Minutes from Beach & Town

Rest and recharge in the wooded coastal sanctuary of this dog-friendly Bandon vacation rental. It's an updated take on the classic cabin in the woods with two bedrooms accommodating up to seven travelers and all the modern home essentials to make everyone happy.

Surrounded by towering spruce trees, the quaint coastal location affords plenty of peace and quiet far from crowds. It's located just north of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and one and a half miles from beach access down Whisky Run Lane. But if you'd like to sample the urban scene, simply head seven miles south into the heart of town, where you'll find great shopping, including local-made chocolates and jellies at Cranberry Sweets and More, fresh-caught Dungeness crab at the Bandon Fish Market, and beautiful paintings by local artists at Art by the Sea Gallery and Studio.

Whether out exploring the rugged coastline or spending time in town, you'll have a comfortable place to come home to at this cabin. Kick off your shoes and settle in for some quality group bonding in the living area, which offers a cozy wood-burning stove to quickly warm the room if it's chilly outside, along with room for everyone on recliner chairs and a luxurious leather couch. Pick out a movie from the DVD library and watch it with your group on the room's TV, or find something to watch on the cable channels. There's also free WiFi, making it easy to stay in touch with friends back home.

With its modern appliances, ample countertops, and assorted cookware, the full kitchen is more than capable of handling all your culinary endeavors, and you'll even have space to enjoy meals together at the six-seat dining table. For a unique outdoor dining experience, head onto the front deck and listen to the coastal sounds swirl around you, delivered on a briny breeze. Does the forecast call for sunny skies and warm temperatures? If so, fire up the gas grill and have a barbecue! Afterwards, why not roast marshmallows in the outdoor firepit?

When your activity-filled day comes to an end, retreat to bed for a great night's sleep. Up to seven guests will find the perfect accommodations in two bedrooms, one of which is a lofted space. The master bedrooms contains a queen-size bed, and the lofted guest bedroom has five twin-size beds - perfect for your kids! With a small nightly fee, your dogs can join in all your adventures and curl up next to you at night.

Wake up to sunlight pouring in from skylights, and brew a fresh pot of coffee using the kitchen's coffeemaker. If you're in the mood for some day trips, you're in luck - there's plenty to do and see nearby! For a day of family fun, head to the West Coast Game Park Safari (about 10 miles south) where your kids can get up close to exotic animals like tigers, leopards, and lions.

You could also rent crab pots and a boat for an exciting day of crabbing on the Coquille River, horseback ride along the coast at Bullards Beach State Park (about five-and-a-half miles south), or set a tee time at Bandon Dunes, known as one of the finest courses around. For a true taste of this region, come during the Cranberry Festival in September, or stop in at Face Rock Creamery, Coastal Mist Chocolates, or Cranberry Sweets any time of year for locally made goodies to bring home.

This is the quiet cabin escape you've always dreamed of - reserve your dates today for an unforgettable trip to the Southern Oregon Coast!

We had so much fun on this vacation, and this cabin was super cute and fun to stay in. It was clean, well stocked and the scenery was really pretty. We will definitely be staying here again!
Heather W. Jun 2022
We really enjoyed our stay. Great little spot
Shari F. May 2022
Lovely little cabin in beautiful setting.
Harold M. May 2022
The cabin was set back away from quiet road, with quite a bit of privacy. We could hear the ocean just a short distance away and were grateful for the close beach access of Whiskey Run. The cabin itself was comfortable, well stocked with all items necessary for a short stay and the out of doors were ready for exploration if the rain would have subsided. A washer and dryer was also available if needed
Cathe M. Apr 2022
Location was great, place was stocked with everything we needed and so cute!
Suzanne V. Mar 2022
We enjoyed our stay. It was a short drive to the beach and beautiful sunsets! It would have been helpful to have a map of the local back roads and a list of recommended restaurants.
Seth E. Dec 2021
We really loved our stay at the cabin. It is private, cozy and comfortable and very clean. A couple of the appliances are a little tired (notably the microwave) and the front gate is succumbing to the wet environment, but not so much to really negatively impact the enjoyment of the stay. Rented the cabin as a home base for our honeymoon and would certainly visit again if we were back in the area or highly recommend it to anyone who was staying in the Bandon area.
Heather S. Nov 2021
Other than location this cabin has NOTHING to offer. It is extremely outdated with old appliances from the 1960/70s, along with dated cookware and utensils. The bedding and towels need to be replaced. The carpet is horrendous, it looks like wood flooring SMH. We stayed there for several days and were continually bothered by flies. The bathroom, while decent size, only provided one very small shower. The decor was incredibly outdated with odd pictures of past guests throughout the house.

There is also a major safety concern. There is a back door which is blocked by a cabinet making the only exit out of the house the front door.

Bandon offers many beautiful locations to stay at, this is not one of them.

Manager response:
Hi, Heather! It's disappointing to read you were unhappy. The towels were replaced just prior to your stay, and the bedding is in good shape. The property manager will look into the fly situation and replace any items in the kitchen inventory that are past their time. The Coos County Health Department inspects this home yearly, and it always passes the health and safety inspection. We share this to let you know the back door is not a safety concern for our guests. Thank you!

We loved the cabin. Secluded yet just a short drive (6 miles or so) to Bandon. And just a few minutes drive from the beach. No complaints from us whatsoever. We would definitely book this cabin again. Thank You so much to the owners for sharing this wonderful property with us.
Kristi K. Sep 2021
Not much privacy for those in the loft, and the early check out is a pain because it's such a great place.

Beautiful property
Joseph G. Jun 2021
The cabin was a delight! We reserved the cabin for my brother's 60th Birthday and he commented that it was one of the best Birthdays he can remember. Thanks very much!

Quiet and near beach access. Loved the towels!

Our stay at the Sabala Cabin was just wonderful! Very clean, very quiet, loved the high ceilings and the wood stove. Kitchen was well supplied and everything worked. Our dog loved the big yard and even though there are neighbors, the surrounding shrubbery made everything quiet and private. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the sheets were soft and luxurious. Just a short drive to Bandon and plenty of gorgeous beaches! Would definitely stay here again!
Holly F. Jan 2021
This was perfect for my stay on the coast. I appreciated the full kitchen, well stocked with cookwear; I slept like a baby in the dark and quiet downstairs bedroom; and the comfortable living room was perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking and biking around the area. I especially loved reading in the cozy chair under the stairs!
Nonie E. Dec 2020
This was a cozy cabin and a comfortable stay
Everything was thought of and customer service was outstanding! Will definitely stay again.
Laura Q. Nov 2020
Has everything you need for a perfect getaway. Nice and clean and organized. Had plenty of firewood for smores and we went to the beach down the street.
Home has Netflix so we had fun watching movies and relaxing together.
Alex E. Nov 2020
The cabin is delightful. It was perfect for our budget and the size was just right for our family of 6. The location is perfect for staying at home, nestled in the trees (my boys took advantage of the landscaping and played a few games of laser tag!), or exploring the Oregon coast. It is just a few minutes from beach access and the beautiful Bandon Dunes golf course. We are not golfers, but Bandon Dunes has amazing hiking trails that anyone can enjoy. Just a short drive south you can explore Face Rock (my favorite) or a short drive north and you can explore Cape Arago state park and all the sea life there (my kids favorite). We will definitely be returning!
Cole B. Oct 2020
Highly recommended! If you’re into charming, cozy and a little bit rustic, this is the place for you! It has everything needed for a very comfortable stay. We had an amazing time and will surely be booking again in the future.
Sarah M. Sep 2020
Exactly what we wanted. Nothing fancy but super comfortable!! The queen bed was like a cloud. Big porch for chillin with the fam. Water pressure in the shower was primo.
Trisha G. Aug 2020
We absolutely loved Sabala cabin! Drive to the Bandon coast is only about 15 mins but we also really enjoyed just chilling at the cabin between beach trips. 100% would stay again if we make our way down to Bandon again.
Wendy N. Aug 2020
Awesome location and house was amazing. Couple things, shower needs a detachable shower head cause it is really small. I am a medium sized human and couldn't hardly bend over to pick up the soap. The other thing was the coffee pot is really old, and does not keep the coffee already brewed, hot.
Alex E. Jul 2020
A cute little cabin in a beautiful location! The size and amenities were just right for my family of 6. The yard was a great place for the kids to play hide and seek and run off energy.

The area is beautiful. We saw deer several times around the cabin and in the surrounding area. There are several amazing beaches just a short drive away. We enjoyed the scenic drive through the golf course several times.

We are already planning a return trip, hoping to be able to explore more of the town next time!!
Janis H. Jul 2020
It was quiet
Lori D. Jul 2020
Nice location, but dissapointed with cleanliness of home, doubt bedding clean and unable to reach Vacasa by phone.
Manager response:
Hello Lori, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize the home was not up to our high standard of cleanliness that we hold ourselves to and for the issues getting in contact with us. We have brought on more staff to better assist our guests and to make sure the homes are ready. We apologize for the inconvenience and do hope you will give us another chance to impress you in the future.
Patricia M. Jun 2020
Lots of sleeping spots for kids. Large yard for kids to play and a circular drive for littles to ride bikes. With that many kids a second toilet would have been nice but hey it’s a cabin. Enjoyed our stay :)
Marvin K. May 2020
We had a great time in this cabin. Had an issue with the dryer but it was taken care of promptly.

My only gripe would be that the listing says hardwood floors and it is actually carpeted with a hardwood pattern. I only point that out as I took my dog and always look for hardwood in case there's any accidents.

There are chairs for sitting on the patio and a fire pit for hanging out at night. But we'll property is surrounded by thick vegetation so you will still feel like you are remote. The whiskey run Beach nearby was awesome and you are able to take your vehicle on the beach if you like and it's out of the way enough it wasn't very busy.

Christine I. May 2020
Pros: fantastic location, lots of room to spread out, super responsive management group, proximity to an awesome beach
Only con: the sheets/blankets in the main bedroom didn’t seem like they were quite the right size. The top blanket would come offβ€”I think it needs to be the next size up.
David S. Mar 2020
This was the greatest place to spend the week of spring break in the midst of the Pandemic scare going on in the world. The cabin was cozy and fairly isolated and we felt very safe, honestly we would have loved to stay there for the next couple of months to wait out this situation but had to return home. However, we're planning on returning later this year or next spring break, thank you!
Annie S I. Mar 2020
Five good friends spending a great 4 days at this great home. Coming from through the West, we were able to catch up with each other and enjoy the use of all the beds in the loft. Very clean and very well furnished. Having the washer and dryer was great. So sorry it was bad weather and we couldn't use the outside fire pit and tables. Thanks!

This little cabin has all the comforts of home!! It is situated in a forested setting that is private and only minutes from the Coast. Bring your family it has a loft with five beds!!

Anna A. Aug 2019
We had such a great time and this house was perfect for our little family. Our daughter said she wants to live there and go crabbing every day.
Bryan M. Jul 2019
this cabin is quiet and away from traffic but close enough to town for beaches, eats and shopping. rustic 70’s decore. everything you need for kitchen and laundry. bunch of single beds in the loft. one double bed in downstairs bedroom. super clean for a pet friendly space :)
Tristen S. Jun 2019

It was clean and quiet and secluded,
Beverly M. Apr 2019
From the opening of the locked gate, this place grab us. The little windy drive to the house set back off the road to the cuteness of the grounds fresh air abounded. The layout inside with the loft room upstairs and one bedroom downstairs was a great setup for our crew. Loved the clean refreshing bibs of the place. My husband had the wood stove going within 20 min. of arrival. We all enjoyed this little cottage in the woods.
Zane W. Mar 2019
My family and I had a great experience staying at the Sabala cabin. Would definitely recommend.
Lisa C. Mar 2019
The cabin was the perfect place for meeting my grandchildren and my mother meeting her great grandchildren. The loft made it feel like it was a big sleepover! Perfect for families!
Everything you would ever need was there.
I couldn’t ask for a better place!
Thank you very much for opening you home.

The Sabala Cabin was perfect for my husband, my dog, and I. We stayed for 7 nights, and greatly enjoyed every moment of it. The cabin was well equipped for our needs. We bought a cutting board for the cabin and left it there for others to use. There is no tupperwear, sandwich baggies, parchment paper, etc. so do bring that if you are planning on staying a while and cooking your own meals. Seasonings are sparse so keep that in mind too. Nothing a trip to the store can't fix! The support staff were amazing. We ran our of firewood (they put enough out for a couple night stay), but when I contacted them about it they were super responsive and came out the day of to replenish our supplies. The beach at the end of Whisky Run was beautiful. Not to mention all of the State and National Parks/Beaches around the area. There is so much to do! My husband and I are outdoor enthusiasts and we were able to hike somewhere new every day. Also, the seafood is amazing! I recommend Edgewaters and Tony's Crab Shack! There are marine mammals galore (we saw migrating whales!!), and enough shorebirds and seabirds to keep your eyeballs happy. There is even a large resident population of wild turkeys that roam Seven Devils Road (the road you take to get to Bandon from the cabin). Thank you for such a wonderful experience! Looking forward to coming back!

We loved the solitude and comfort of this home! It's ever better than described. For first time visitors, there is a wonder beach with easy access straight ahead down Whiskey Run Road. Thank you for sharing!

We loved Bandon. The cabin fit our needs perfectly. My kids loved having the loft to themselves. We never would have found Whiskey Run beach if it weren’t for the location of the cabin. Loved it!

Mark W. Mar 2018
Great little cabin in the woods! Nice loft and a bedroom downstairs with plenty of space. We were a little surprised that it has been painted a beautiful blue since the advertised picture and it's a charming cabin.
Manager response:
We will have updated pictures up soon!
Tawni P. Feb 2018
It was a nice place to take the fam.
Jana N. Feb 2018
The Sabala Cabin is nestled in a quiet, private, and heavily wooded area north of Bandon. It is very close to the large golf course. It's secluded - there are no nearby stores but the cabin has everything you need. The gate entry is a bit tricky but once you're in, the property is very accommodating - a large well maintained gravel turn-around, fire pit, covered porch, wood shed, walkways, etc. Oh, and the exterior paint is now blue! Inside is roomy and clean. The carpet is a bit worn and musty but everything was nicely decorated and very clean and comfortable. I loved the peacefulness and seclusion. Downtown Bandon is only 5-10 min away and the beach at the end of Whiskey Run Lane is spectacular. A great place and well priced. I will come back for sure!
Debora W. Jan 2018
Jennifer Rae H. Nov 2017
Cute and comfortable. Bring water to drink as tap water appears to be rusty. Has lots of dishes and they provide firewood for the wood stove. No cable but lots of dvds. Overall, a good stay.
Amy A. Oct 2017
I enjoyed our stay here. It felt cozy and comfortable. The bed was comfy. Loved the property and how it felt like you were on a large property even though you had neighbors. Never felt that way.
Jennifer K. Sep 2017
This is a beautiful setting and a wonderful home we loved our stay
Jennifer F. Aug 2017
This little cabin was perfect for our road trip to see the West Coast Game Park. I recommend it to any one who loves lil cabins.
Leroy I. Aug 2017
Nice property very private....peaceful
Michael E. Jul 2017
Such a great little cabin close to Bandon and the beach is a 2-3 minute drive down the road. This cabin has so many things! Definitely worth it.
Lindsay F. Jul 2017
Easy to find, beds comfy, bathroom large enough. We had 6 adults and 1 toddler, ate dinner out, and breakfast in. Walking to beach was not possible for us, and beach much better in Bandon.
Jane K C. Jun 2017
It was perfect for my needs. lots of amenities, well thought out. I did bring my Ipad in addition to my Iphone to create a 'hotspot' as there is no wifi.
Avis M. Jun 2017
Quiet, and cozy. Great place to relax and recharge. Long walks on the beach with cool, comfortable weather!
Susan E. May 2017
We were so pleased with this cabin for a short getaway. It's so well furnished with dishes to furniture. It's property is lush and green like a secret little spot in the middle of the forest. I would definitely recommend this place. The prices are amazing if your not staying during a holiday.
Karen B. Apr 2017
Best part of the stay was the abscence of WIFI,internet, satellite and cable. Please keep it that way. There are far too few places left to escape from the constant electronic bombardment that is forced upon us.
Kirby And Cathy D. Apr 2017
Home is very cozy for a couple. Nice wood stove. Queen bed in bedroom was a pillow top and very comfortable. Couches were also very comfortable. Kitchen appliances are older, but in good working order and kitchen well equipped. Shower stall was very small, but functional. Location, just north of town, about 10 min to downtown and beach. 5 min from Bandon Golf course.
Staci S. Mar 2017
Easy and accessible. Quiet and comfortable. Loved the peacefulness.
Amber W. Feb 2017
Very nice home, we enjoyed our trip so much. Would recommend to everyone.
Shawna M. Jan 2017
We love having the wood stove.
