Make Augusta your next getaway

Seated on the banks of the Savannah River in eastern Georgia, Augusta is a city that earns its reputation far beyond the fairways of Augusta National. The birthplace of James Brown, a 6-mile urban Augusta Canal that powered the South's industrial revolution, and a vibrant arts and culinary scene make this gracious riverside city one of the most rewarding and most underestimated destinations in the American South.

Recent Augusta guest reviews

This home was absolutely beautiful. remodeled with care while still keeping its Southern charm. It was huge; even the hallways felt spacious! The kitchen was large and fully stocked with everything we needed. The house was spotless and clearly well-maintained. It’s centrally located in Augusta, which made getting around super easy. Plenty of parking too, both tandem in the driveway and on the street. Perfect for a family or group stay. We loved it and would definitely come back!

Great location, extremely spacious and perfect for large groups! Beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Just needed more basics, toilet paper, trash bags, coffee cups but otherwise a great place.

What you'll love about Augusta

Augusta National and the Masters give the city a global reputation, but Augusta's character runs much deeper than golf. The Augusta Canal National Heritage Area is one of the few intact 19th-century industrial canals in America.

The Morris Museum of Art—the first museum dedicated solely to the art of the American South—is outstanding. James Brown's legacy is woven through the city's identity with genuine pride.  The dining and brewery scene keeps getting better and tastier, making Augusta worth visitingany month of the year.

Masters magic, canal history, and the Godfather of Soul's hometown

Augusta is far richer than its golf reputation suggests. Yes, Augusta National's Masters Tournament is the most prestigious event in golf and the city electric in April, but the 19th-century Augusta Canal, James Brown's musical legacy, and the Morris Museum of Art, the first museum dedicated to the art of the American South, make Augusta a destination worth visiting every other week of the year too.
