We think the Drift Inn has amazing food at very reasonable prices. We had 2 meals there, breakfast and dinner . Both meals were great. Just a note about Saturday night, we went early,. By the time we finished our dinner, there were probably 20 people in line. So, if you go at 7-8 prepare to wait. That said, it is well worth the wait!!

The place was excellent in all respects. The large windows brought in the natural beauty of Oregon's Yachats and the mighty Pacific Ocean. Walks along the bluff trails were uncrowded and spectacular. Don't be seduced by the comfort of the home, so get up and out rain or shine.

John hiked up to the top of Cape Perpetua, and found on the way the "Dancing Bears" and the "Amanda Statue", so he took me back the next day for that section of the Oregon Coast Trail...we sat and meditated by Amanda's Statue...very moving and so relevant today as we try to pay attention to the Indigenous People who are Water Protectors at Standing Roc,

We loved the ocean view. Even with the winter weather it was very beautiful to watch. We enjoyed the hot tub even in the freezing weather (or more so because of it!) We had a quiet weekend of visiting and reminiscing good times about my husband/their dad who was in a tragic accident in Oct.

The Adobe restaurant has a great Sunday Brunch. We also were treated to an awesome lightning display. We were just arriving and looking out the back glass door when an bald eagle flew down the beach. Later on we were treated to a couple of sea lions playing in the surf.

We walked to the Adobe Restaurant from Town along the beac trail (about 2miles) a few times. The food is ok, but the view does the rest. Also, the seafood market makes a mean Manhattan Clam Chowder.

Hecate Beach is gorgeous, even in December. Any stop along 101 will not disappoint with views so pull over and take it all in. Bread and Roses Bakery is awesome, super friendly, definite go to!

Yachats, two miles south, has a few stores including a grocery (a little expensive) but no gas station. Waldport, six miles north, has more options and services. For the week we were there, we typically did shopping in Waldport - but Yachats is less tourist-y, and a lovely village.

Yachats is a quaint little community nestled along a spectacular region of the Oregon Coast. There are a multitude of beautiful places to explore: Cape Perpetua, Devil’s Churn (a beautiful section of rocky coastline), Sea Lion Caves, Heceta Head Lighthouse, and many others. The town itself is a cute little beach town with kite, taffy, antique, and trinket shops, and a weekend farmer’s market. There are some good eateries (we recommend the Outta Gas Pizzeria and Yachats Brewing + Farmstore). The only note of caution is that everything closes VERY EARLY during the off-season!!

Also if you like to hike there is lots of hiking trails to choose from. Plus just south a little further is the Heceta Head Lighthouse. We also spotted whales spouting about a quarter mile or less from the coastline. In general the whole area is just beautiful and we will be back.

The Farmer's Market on Sunday is a must-go. The shops in town are cute and quirky. Take a 30 minute drive north to Newport to see the aquarium and cannery row shops. Take a day to walk the trails from Devils Churn to Spouting Horn as well as hit Heceta Light house.

We LOVE Yachats! The rocky beaches are perfect for checking out tide pools and watching the waves crash dramatically against the rocks. We found a blowhole really close to the Yachats house just off Oceania drive. Cape Perpetua offers hiking and an incredible view if you go to the top. The little ice cream shop in town is a family favorite as well as the Blue Whale restaurant.

My daughter and I love Yachats. This is the third year in a row we've gone there and the second year in a row that we stayed at Ocean Cover Inn. We loved the Oceanview Loft. With the full kitchen we were able to save some money by making picnic lunches and cooking all our breakfasts and a couple dinners. We each had our own space and a nice living area. The grocery store was well stocked and the hours where perfect for us, we were surprised that many businesses closed all day, or closed before 7:00 pm which was a bummer, might be because it was May 24-27. The local restaurants were excellent, and we enjoyed fresh fish and locally brewed craft beer along with hospitality. We found a flyer with fun newsy items, the site is www.pacificskinney.com just in case you want to see local news and information!

The tide-pools at Yachats were fantastic. Hobbit Beach near Heceta Head is a favorite of our family's. But you can't overlook the beach just down the path from the house. Some had commented on the stairs being treacherous, but I think that's an overstatement. The beach itself is fantastic, and it's literally a two minute walk to get there.

Seal Rock State Park is beautiful spot for a picnic and exploring the beach. Our newest favorite discovery is Bob Creek Wayside beach (south on 101 from house, right after Strawberry Hill, headed towards Hacieta Head Lighthouse - another favorite spot). Visit these places at low tide to discover all the tide pools! Kids seemed to appreciate them more after first visiting the Newport Aquarium and learning about what they'll find on the coast (as well as how to gently touch them). Rogue brewery - always a family favorite for dinner!

Yachats is a charming little town right on the coast and while it doesn't have much to offer, it has the basics....grocery store, handful of restaurant selections and best of all, a nice beach to take a stroll on and let the dogs play. The beach area is quite small so I imagine during summer and high peak times, its not worth it since it would get crowded easily.

Exploring the variety of beaches from Florence up to Lincoln City and collecting small driftwood and clam shells. We found the Mexican food delicious at Fresh Mexican in Waldport a short ride N of Yachats and fresh, wonderfully cooked fish and chowder at Luna's in Yachats. The view of the ocean waves, sunsets when not cloudy from the living room or outdoor porch are quite beautiful. The property is very dog friendly with plenty of grass to scamper around on. It was also nice to have a water hose available for washing off sandy driftwood and a nice outdoor area to dry them.

we loved everything about it, It is in a beautiful setting. It had two kitchens great for 16 people. We did have 16 people stay there. Lots of linen's, kitchens were pretty well stocked, Rooms were beautifully made up. It was very cozy and inviting ( cozy not meaning small in any way, it is very spacious). TV room downstairs and up stairs with Wi-Fi all worked great hot tub was a jewel. Sufficient enough bathrooms for 16 people to dress and prepare for our wedding. The kids really enjoyed looking out the windows, watching TV and playing with the games in the rental. Beautiful! Beautiful Views starting with the view from the porch on the way into the rental. It was my favorite. So inviting. If we can afford it again someday we would love to do it again. I can't forget the multiple BBQ grills in the rental. It worked great our reception was a BBQ.

Favorite spot (other than the deck of the house, of course) was Ona Restaurant, it was incredible! Prices were very reasonable, food was phenomenal! Servers were fun and exceptionally good at their jobs. The outside eating area was picturesque and the interior was clean and light but very relaxing with comfy chairs and nice sized tables that aren't squashed close to other customers like a lot of other restaurants. The place is perfect. Also, if you're willing to drive a little bit to walk on the sand, Agate Beach (just past Newport) was really awesome and there are a TON of neat shops (woodworking, glassblowing, antiques, knick knacks, etc) to stop by all along Hwy 101.

Drift Inn is a sweet spot for a meal, Green Salmon is a throw back to the '60's kind of place for a cozy cup or health ful ( mostly) meal, A new Farm Store has lots of organic produce and cider and beers on tap, Toad Hall is a wee shop that is not to be missed when in Yachats. Enjoy the bay for a walk or the 804 which will spill you down on the beach at the other end of Yachats,
