Recent Kaanapali vacation rental reviews

Paki Maui 423 was the perfect place for our weeklong vacation to Maui. We had 4 people, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The beds were comfortable with ample pillows, there's tons of seating between the couch that pulls out into a bed, two chairs, a table for 6, plus 2 barstools. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, and more. But really, the views out the living room windows and primary bedroom were absolutely to die for! Everything in this condo looks just like the pictures/3D tour. The lanais were so roomy and well furnished and we sat out there a lot. The location is amazing to get to everywhere on Maui and there's a great grocery store very close by. Lots of towels were provided and the washer/dryer was so convenient. The fridge even has an automatic ice maker. Being on the top floor made it nice and quiet. Communication from Vacasa from the time of booking through check out was superb. Like most places in Hawaii there's no air conditioning, but it wasn't needed because there are ceiling fans and floor fans in every room and we kept all the doors wide open whenever we were home which kept the home very comfortable. Next time we are in Maui we will definitely be returning to this condo.

We loved staying in this unit. This was our 3rd time staying at the Honua Kai and we really enjoyed this particular unit the most. The view of the ocean is amazing and not interrupted by the other wings or rooms of the resort. We also enjoyed how much more peaceful the Lanai is without all of the noise from the pool, restaurant or adjacent lanai's. There's enough room between this wing of the Honua Kai and the next door resort to provide privacy on the lanai and in the living room with the doors fully open. One small drawback is that we didn't have a full view of the sunset from the lanai, but we thought the afternoon shade outweighed that aspect. The three rooms were all very spacious. All of the appliances were high quality and up to date. Fully stocked kitchen to prepare as many meals as you like. Very close proximity to the elevator was a big plus as well. We look forward to our next stay here!

This room has a great view of the beach and sunsets. It was stocked with everything you need to cook and has plenty of space to spread out.

Where is Kaanapali?

Sitting on the west side of the idyllic island of Maui and less than 30 miles from the Kahului Airport, Kaanapali is a hub for sun-seeking tourists. Five miles south is the historic whaling village, Lahaina, and six miles north is the iconic Kapalua Bay. If you're hoping to catch a legendary Haleakala sunrise while you're on the island, it's an easy journey by car from your rental. With basically everything Maui has to offer at your fingertips, you can’t go wrong with a stay in one of our Kaanapali beach condos.

Shopping and dining in Kaanapali

All your shopping needs in Kaanapali will be met at one destination - Whalers Village. Here, you’ll find a number of designer clothing stores for buying swimsuits and island-wear, local shops selling handcrafted souvenirs, and a handful of food and ice cream shops. If you’re in search of fresh fish and produce, a quick walk north of Kaanapali Shores will bring you to a fish market and a wonderful farmers market, where you can buy heavenly tropical fruit and something to cook up in your vacation rental. You won’t have to wander far to find superb dining options, either. Connected to our luxury rentals in Honua Kai Resort, Duke’s Beach House offers classic Hawaiian food in an oceanside location.

Outdoor activities in Kaanapali

With so many resorts in Kaanapali, it comes as no surprise that this is also a hub for any activity you can imagine doing on Maui. Sign up for surf lessons through Island Style Adventures, or go parasailing for a different kind of thrill. A few companies in the area offer catamaran tours, where you can choose to either snorkel or go on a tour at sunset and enjoy dinner out at sea.

There’s plenty of fun to be had with minimal to no gear, though. Rent a mask and some flippers to go snorkeling at iconic Black Rock Beach and spot sea turtles, or lay a blanket down on the soft sand to soak up some rays. Golfers will find two of the most beautiful courses you’re sure to step foot on at Kaanapali Golf Course.
