Recent Kaanapali vacation rental reviews

It was a beautiful and homey place for our 1st visit to Maui. The building manager and crew were very helpful and kind. The grounds were clean and organized every day. The beach access was fantastic. We saw the turtles each morning and later in the afternoon. The sound of the ocean was so amazing to hear from the patio and bedroom window. We were blessed to see the sunrise and sunset from the comfort of the patio. The only couple of things that were a little bit of a setback were the steps to the beach were a little tricky for our elder mother and there could have been a few more beach supplies available at the place. Sadly, our stay ended suddenly because of the devastating fire in Lahaina 🥺 We hope everyone in West Maui is safe and healthy. We will return someday soon.

Where is Kaanapali?

Sitting on the west side of the idyllic island of Maui and less than 30 miles from the Kahului Airport, Kaanapali is a hub for sun-seeking tourists. Five miles south is the historic whaling village, Lahaina, and six miles north is the iconic Kapalua Bay. If you're hoping to catch a legendary Haleakala sunrise while you're on the island, it's an easy journey by car from your rental. With basically everything Maui has to offer at your fingertips, you can’t go wrong with a stay in one of our Kaanapali beach condos.

Shopping and dining in Kaanapali

All your shopping needs in Kaanapali will be met at one destination - Whalers Village. Here, you’ll find a number of designer clothing stores for buying swimsuits and island-wear, local shops selling handcrafted souvenirs, and a handful of food and ice cream shops. If you’re in search of fresh fish and produce, a quick walk north of Kaanapali Shores will bring you to a fish market and a wonderful farmers market, where you can buy heavenly tropical fruit and something to cook up in your vacation rental. You won’t have to wander far to find superb dining options, either. Connected to our luxury rentals in Honua Kai Resort, Duke’s Beach House offers classic Hawaiian food in an oceanside location.

Outdoor activities in Kaanapali

With so many resorts in Kaanapali, it comes as no surprise that this is also a hub for any activity you can imagine doing on Maui. Sign up for surf lessons through Island Style Adventures, or go parasailing for a different kind of thrill. A few companies in the area offer catamaran tours, where you can choose to either snorkel or go on a tour at sunset and enjoy dinner out at sea.

There’s plenty of fun to be had with minimal to no gear, though. Rent a mask and some flippers to go snorkeling at iconic Black Rock Beach and spot sea turtles, or lay a blanket down on the soft sand to soak up some rays. Golfers will find two of the most beautiful courses you’re sure to step foot on at Kaanapali Golf Course.

Find your personal paradise in one of our Kaanapali beach rentals!
