Lakefront home w/ private dock, firepit & picnic area - close to Wisp Resort!

Anglers, kayakers, golfers, and skiers will delight in a visit to this four-bedroom McHenry home, a lakefront retreat with a private dock and firepit, nearby recreation in every season, and a gorgeous position on the banks of Deep Creek Lake.

Only a line of trees separates this single-level home from the edge of Marsh Run Cove, an inlet in the northern reaches of Deep Creek Lake. Walk a few steps to launch your kayak from the dock, go skiing or mountain biking on the 34 slopes of Wisp Resort one mile north, and explore the bounty of nature at Swallow Falls (seven miles southwest) and Deep Creek Lake State Parks (nine miles south).

Well-equipped for visitors in winter, spring, summer, and fall, this home has a vintage style that will bring you back to the carefree days of childhood. Swing your legs from the dock on the lake, flip burgers and hot dogs on the charcoal grill, and gather around the picnic table for al fresco lunches and dinners.

Spend your days swimming in the lake, playing Marco Polo with your kids, and huddling around the outdoor firepit as the evening moves in. Back inside, you can throw your bathing suits in the private washer/dryer, light a cozy fire in the wood-burning stove, and settle in for a night in front of the TV and VCR (please note, however, that this home is not equipped with WiFi).

Make memories with your loved ones that will last a lifetime - begin a new family tradition at this classic Deep Creek Lake home!

I wanted a place near Wisp at a reasonable price and this was it. I didn't expect an upscale house and it wasn't. It was warm, it had beds and all you need to stay for a weekend at the ski slopes. It is on the lake and near everything in the north of Deep Creek, so it would work as a summer vacation, too. It is rustic. The TV worked. Everything worked. The driveway was a challenge in the best of conditions, but I used the space at the top on the road, near the trash cans, when the precipitation started. There wasn't much traffic. It's on the 'no outlet' part of the road. If you can deal with a steep, gravel drive and no wi-fi, it will work for you, too.

Very steep driveway not safe to drive to the house especially during winter conditions. House is in poor condition, The stove is very old, some burners don't work as well as the oven. No microwave, TV is very old. Toilet in the master bedroom doesn't flush and had to fix it several times. Overall It's not a good place for your next vacation.
Manager response:
We are disappointed to see this guest did not enjoy their experience. We do note on the website that 4WD may be required in the winter months to reach the home; we apologize if this came as a surprise to this guest. The TV and stove are both older, but both function great. The microwave is on the counter, and we were unable to find any issues with the toilet. The home does have brand new paint and carpet that has helped freshen it up a bit. Thanks!

This homey rancher has 4 bedrooms and 1 and 1/2 baths with a combined kitchen-living area, grill, private dock and plenty of car space. The yard slopes down to the lake where we swim from the dock. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and shops and the Park on the other side of the lake. They provide the sheets and towels. Marsh Hill Rd. is great for early morning walking or running.
