Our family really enjoyed this home! My littles loved seeing the big ships on the channel, and the back yard was like an adventure for them. I appreciated it being a fully fenced and locked yard so I didn’t have to worry too much about them being out there.
The house is laid out strangely with no living room down stairs, but it did have a couch and several arm chairs upstairs around the tv, so it wasn’t a big deal. Being an old house, you have to work with the space you have.
The upstairs shower water pressure was not great, but other than that, no complaints!
It was was an easy distance from our favorite beaches, Sunset Bay and Bastendorf.
Really enjoyed our time here!

Loved everything about the house, loved setting on the stairs with the window's open listening to the waves. The grounds were amazing...would have like a gate to the bay.

Location, roomy, clean

We had a good time at this home for the short period we were there. The home is very nicely decorated, the view is beautiful, and the location is great. The backyard gardens were a highlight. The only downfall as others mention is that other than the large dining room table, there is no common room for sitting around and visiting with those you are there staying with and the layout of the house is a bit weird. But we still enjoyed our time here.

Positive points great location for fun outdoor activities with the family plenty of sleeping space!
Beautiful back yard!
Not so positive: ants in the kitchen, only one TV worked with WiFi to watch Hulu or Netflix kinda missed having a couch to sit on and watch movies with our family and there is no access to the beach close to the house like it states
Manager response:
We appreciate receiving this feedback. The ants have been cleared out. The home has one large couch by the TV to relax and enjoy movies. The layout is a bit different with the TV and couch being in the kids' room. There is beach access about 200 yards south of the home. Thanks!

House was nice, but there is no real living space. The upstairs should be a sitting area and not a bedroom. No cable or satellite TV, and the combo locks to the beach access did not open to the code. It was fine for what we needed (crabbing trip), and it certainly has plenty of bed space, but I wouldn't recommend it for a multi-family trip.
Manager response:
We appreciate this guest taking the time to provide us with this feedback. Please note that there is no direct beach access at this home. Thank you!

Overall, we liked the house. We would recommend for couples or families with big dogs and older children.
Amazing views! You can watch tugboats on the bay and buggies on the dunes. We spent quite a lot of time on the two decks. Oh, bring lawn chairs because they do not have any for guests. Or any that we could find.
Note that the Vacasa photos are outdated. A new owner has taken over and changed the decor and furniture. Gone are the white chairs (as a dog owner I say, “Thank goodness.”). There are now more beds including two sets of bunk beds upstairs. There is no family room or den now just a huge dining set. We fell in love with the master bath upstairs! Tile floors are heated! The kitchen has classic charm but no dishwasher. Dish soap is provided which is nice.
Yard is dogs’ paradise. Lots of nooks and crannies to sniff. Some grassy areas to run but the landscaping can be a hazard. Small dogs can escape through holes in fence and any size dogs can get to front yard by going beside the garage. Heads Up: The neighbor’s dog and cat like to visit. The listing does say keep dogs on-leash.
Be very careful of steep sidewalks that take you to the lower pond area. Extremely steep. There is a rope railing, however, to help you ascend and descend.
Pond is stinky and murky but listening to all the frogs at night was awesome. Wouldn’t let dogs swim in there. Ewww.
Unlike listing says you do not have private gated access to the bay beach. Both gates padlocked. You must drive 100 yards and walk to it; at low tide it is easier but mucky in some spots. Lots of clamming folks out there in the morning.
Gate from lower deck has been padlocked. If you have dogs, you’ll need to take them thru the mud room and thru the garden door. BTW deck from mud room is very precarious; no railing on one side and small landing. Not sure how that passed the Vacasa inspection?!
As for Coos Bay we walked the Boardwalk. Interesting logging and fishing history there. We visited the Marshfield Pioneer Cemetery and the Prefontaine mural. Wish the cemetery was maintained better. It is in the parking lot of the high school! EZ Thai Restaurant is delicious!

Beautiful view from the home👍 The home was close to many nice seafood restaurants, parks, beaches. The home has quite a lot of space, plenty of appliances, dishes, etc
