Super quiet neighborhood. The kids loved that we were staying in a float house instead of a regular hotel!
Brittany E. May 2021
The house is great, it has everything you can need. It definitely has a fishing at grandpa's feel but in a really good way.
Hollie C. Sep 2020
Great location as it's the last house on the dock and a corner lot. Also has a view of the limekilns. It is dated decor but it gave it a cabin like feel. Be aware there is a lot of spiders and webs around inside and outside. They seemed harmless to me and the note inside the house stated that. however, if you are afraid of spiders or webs with dead bugs in it that might be an issue for you. The A-frame master bedroom and bathroom was hard for tall people to maneuver. We enjoyed the floathouse overall, we had a wonderful fun, and relaxing time. The house had all the supplies you could need from air beds, sleeping bags, to a pizza cutter. We loved launching our kayaks right from the front deck.

Float houses are such a unique vacation experience. It's a must try! A house that sits on water, and is NOT a boat, what's not to love?!?
Sheryl S. Jul 2020
We loved the float house and the view. It was very peaceful and everyone we met was friendly.
Peter A. Jul 2020
It was a cool little house on the water which we truly enjoyed. We walked around the town and Farragut State Park which was a fun time and beautiful scenery. Thank you.
Timothy H. Jul 2020
The house was nice. The only thing that I would recommend is to replace the broken chairs on the back patio deck.
Manager response:
Hello Timothy, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The broken chairs have been replaced. We apologize for the inconvenience. We look forward to hosting you again in the future!

We enjoyed staying in the house boat. It was very quiet. The beds were comfortable. The porch upstairs is very nice in the evening especially. The fry pans are awful, bring your own. It was clean and tidy but older furniture in the living room.

This Houseboat was a wonderful experience. My family of 6 had never stayed on a houseboat so we didn’t know what to expect.
The beds were comfortable, the other accommodations were good, and the scenic view was incredible.
We would definitely stay here again.

The Float house was exactly as described. Plenty of room for 3 people to enjoy a weekend.
Jeanette M. Sep 2019
Great location and clean even though it is an old house.
SAMBATH M. Aug 2019
Great location, clean and neat. Close to stores. The home was a little out dated but we loved the old school vibe, it was very comfortable and felt like home. Definitely coming back next year. Thank you!

Other than spiders everywhere at night it was nice clean and cozy. Would stay again.
Wish that they would of mentioned spiders before rental, because of my arachnophobic wife. Lol

About the only thing we loved was the laundromat in the town of Bayview. It was modern, clean, and inexpensive. However, the Float Home Hideway was out of date, rundown, and very expensive. We wouldn't recommend this to anyone we know.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us and sharing your review. We are sorry to read you were disappointed with the home. The home is older, but we find it comfortable and in good repair. We hope to see you again!

Loved this float house!! It was clean. It had everything we the kitchen and bathrooms and everywhere else! Sitting on the balcony watching the sailboats, the geese and the ducks was so relaxing. I am ready to go back!

The location was great with easy access to Coeur D’Alene and Sandpoint. The home itself was not fancy but suited our needs well.

My family stayed at the Scenic Bay Float Home Hideaway during our vacation to Silverwood. We loved the spacious home! The upper level bedroom is beautifully remodeled and felt homey. We enjoyed playing board games on the back deck while overlooking the lake. My two boys and husband enjoyed a nice swim in the lake right off the dock in front of the home! We will stay again next time we're in the area.

The float house was very cute and it was clean. It provided everything we needed (minus washer/dryer if anyone is looking to stay for an extended time). There is also only 1 AC unit all the way upstairs in the top bedroom. Everywhere else in the house, there are only fans. At night, it cools off pretty quick so it was comfortable to sleep (and even got pretty cold some nights). The instructions and information on getting to the float house and accessing the keys were easy to follow. The parking seemed to be a first come first serve even though we were supposed to have designated spots. We did not have any issues finding a place to park though. It is a very small town and the people are very friendly. The people in the neighboring float homes were incredible nice and welcoming. If you are looking to go out on the lake, there is an info shack that will help with renting boats but they are closed on Sunday so definitely do it ahead of time (we found out too late when we walked up to a closed info and rental shack). There is VERY little service if any so it is a good idea to do any texting, emailing, calling before you arrive. It is a very close drive to Silverwood Theme Park and other museums as well. Overall we had a good stay.

Loved the views and very quite and peaceful

We so enjoyed our long weekend in the float house in Bay View. Lots of great places to eat too! Hope we can do it again.
Lisa K. Sep 2017
Location is wonderful for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Cell reception is non existent on the lake but there is a land-line in the house. Love feeding the ducks each morning. Can't go a day without seeing deer. Head over to beaver Bay for great swimming and hiking trails!

Nice place to visit

A floating home stay was a unique experience, but enjoyable. Not surprisingly, the home has a few quirks - master bedroom takes some getting used to if you're tall - but easy access to the water, great views, quiet and more makes it worth it in our opinion. The welcome gift and other small personal touches/amenities was also very much appreciated.

Went with a group of six! Fit us all very comfortably! Excellent spot, not to far away from Silverwood theme park. Would definitely recommend! will be coming back (:

Our stay was so relaxing. Bayview is a hidden gem. We enjoyed using our kayaks and paddle boards on this beautiful underused lake. The community is laid back and we felt very safe. We did not even lock our doors. There were 4 different restaurants in this small town. So if you want to eat out, you don't feel like cooking. I will definitely go back. I would like to make this a yearly vacation

What a perfect holiday! We spent two days at Silverwood theme park and the float house was a great place to wind down. The atmosphere of the house and area was an added bonus. We were able to cook our own meals as the kitchen is fully equipped with all your cooking needs. The house was well stocked with little extras as well! The top deck is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the evenings. There is great fishing for the whole family as well. Overall it was a great stay with any services you need only a short drive away! Thanks Vacasa for a great family holiday!!

Excellent Job!! We'll be using you again!!

Great spot, close to Silverwood theme park. Little cafe in Athol made the best omelette I've ever eaten!

It's not often that you can have the experience of renting a floating home and have the ability to park your boat next to the house. The house itself had a unique floor plan, but it worked out. Be aware the Scenic Bay Marina will charge you $35.00 a day to moor your boat. There is no where to park a boat trailer during your stay. The marina charged us an additional $30.00 to store our trailer, which was about a mile out of town, so loading was a problem on our last day and then had to find a place to park the truck and trailer the night before we left. We ended up having to park overnight on a city street, so had to worry about being towed or vandalism. The town of Bayview is a little run down and poor quality restaurants, which are more like bars, which is a problem if you have younger children. If your looking to simply boat and spend time on the lake you'll be okay and the price is fair to rent this place.

This was the perfect place to relax with the family after spending the days at Silverwood Theme Park. We were able to enjoy quite evenings with beautiful sunsets and days with swimming and peaceful relaxation. Making our own meals saved money on our trip. This was a pleasant place to stay for our family. The upstairs bedroom had a strong cedar smell that did not bother my husband. We will go back.

Six of us spent three nights here, and, overall, we loved the experience and want to return for a longer stay. The surroundings are so peaceful and serene, surrounded by water and mountains, and the people can't be beat for friendliness. The floating homes are cute and highly individual. Some people live in their floating homes year around, others use them only as vacation homes. The area has an interesting history---try to learn something about it if you come. This float house isn't fancy, but it's comfy. Everybody slept well, even the two assigned the pull-out sofa. The upstairs bed and bath are paneled in cedar, and there is a strong cedar scent, which I personally find pleasant, but perhaps not everyone will. There are no windows in the upstairs bedroom/bath, but the AC relieved any sense of stuffiness and kept it at a comfortable temperature The upstairs deck is nice, and we were not bothered by insects. We cooked all of our own meals and found the kitchen adequately equipped with cookware and dishes. My husband has a T-mobile phone and had no reception, but other people in our party did not have a problem, and there is an available landline. We had computer reception through a modem, but there is no WiFi. That was not a problem for us, but if you need WiFi, Ralph's Coffeehouse has it nearby. We would definitely recommend this place, but perhaps the very fussy should stay away.
