Perfect waterfront fishing retreat floating in the Bayview marina!

Live your dream of lakeside property in this gorgeous Lake Pend Oreille vacation rental in Bayview. Surrounded by Idaho's spectacular views and with the water right outside your door, you'll find rest and relaxation with ease!

This Bayview lake home - a picture-perfect fishing retreat - floats directly in the marina of Bayview, on the west cusp of Scenic Bay in Lake Pend Orielle. Bayview proper is only a half mile walk from your boat house for a quiet night out, and you're within easy distance of any and all outdoor recreational activities!

This cozy floating home with navy trim is clean, simple, and is primed for your relaxation with a wrap-around patio and plenty of lounge chairs outside. The knotted-wood paneled walls and sandstone furniture contrast beautifully with a light blue carpet and light pattern accents on the pillows and curtains. Enjoy the trout and salmon inspired decor from the comfy recliner or the plush sofa. There's an old writing desk if you feel like penning a poem or two, and a fan to help circulate the air if it gets stuffy. When its time to head out, or if you're trumping in from a day of play, there's a mudroom for you to leave your hiking shoes and wet clothes.

Enjoy the kitchen nestled in the corner of the main floor, with a breakfast bar and all the necessary appliances - the cabinetry maintains that knotted-wood motif, and is accentuate by the aspen-themed wallpaper at counter-level. The dining table seats three if you pop open the leaf; and there's another office space for any business you have to conduct during your stay!

This two bedroom, two bathroom home ensures that all its guests sleep comfortably. The main floor's bedroom has a queen-sized bed with sea-shell themed bedding, and plenty of storage space in dark wood. This room has its own bathroom with a shower stall. Head upstairs to the second floor, where you'll find a mounted flat screen TV and a suede recliner. The master suite has wood floors and a king bed with trout-themed bedding, and a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo. With a queen-sized sleeper in the living room, this home can comfortably sleep six guests.

And if you bring your boat, feel free to park it next to this home. Please note: there is a daily charge to park a boat at this home, it is not included with the rental. Parking a boat at the marina is an additional $50 night and requires registration at the marina office.

Bayview is the perfect Idaho destination for the outdoorsy types: water sports are an obvious choice, with over 200 miles of shoreline to kayak, wade, and lots of docks to send off your boat. Enjoy good fishing, a good swim, or just a good float! Bayview is within the boundaries of Farragut State Park, with ample wildlife-viewing, hiking, and biking trails. Head up towards the rocky bluffs and you might catch a glimpse of a mountain goat; come fall you'll see a bald eagles in the trees, and there may always be a coyote or a fox wandering about!

This is a great family destination, and this home works well for friends or family coming to the lake for a large event like a wedding or a family reunion. Just five minutes away, Farragut State Park offers hiking, historical sites, and a beautiful swimming area, ideal for if the kids want to swim somewhere other than simply jumping off the dock into the lake.

This lovely Bayview vacation rental is perfect for your next fresh-water adventure!

The location was great with easy access to Coeur D’Alene and Sandpoint. The home itself was not fancy but suited our needs well.

My family stayed at the Scenic Bay Float Home Hideaway during our vacation to Silverwood. We loved the spacious home! The upper level bedroom is beautifully remodeled and felt homey. We enjoyed playing board games on the back deck while overlooking the lake. My two boys and husband enjoyed a nice swim in the lake right off the dock in front of the home! We will stay again next time we're in the area.

The float house was very cute and it was clean. It provided everything we needed (minus washer/dryer if anyone is looking to stay for an extended time). There is also only 1 AC unit all the way upstairs in the top bedroom. Everywhere else in the house, there are only fans. At night, it cools off pretty quick so it was comfortable to sleep (and even got pretty cold some nights). The instructions and information on getting to the float house and accessing the keys were easy to follow. The parking seemed to be a first come first serve even though we were supposed to have designated spots. We did not have any issues finding a place to park though. It is a very small town and the people are very friendly. The people in the neighboring float homes were incredible nice and welcoming. If you are looking to go out on the lake, there is an info shack that will help with renting boats but they are closed on Sunday so definitely do it ahead of time (we found out too late when we walked up to a closed info and rental shack). There is VERY little service if any so it is a good idea to do any texting, emailing, calling before you arrive. It is a very close drive to Silverwood Theme Park and other museums as well. Overall we had a good stay.

We were looking for a new experience and staying on a floating house was perfect. The house was comfortable and the scenter was amazing.

It's ok. But its old and a few new things, like tv's, and quality outdoor furniture would help. I'm not going to say the place is complete crap because it was ok. But the owners need to organize and modernize the place if they are going to continue to rent it out. I would not stay here again as it is nothing special.

We so enjoyed our long weekend in the float house in Bay View. Lots of great places to eat too! Hope we can do it again.

Location is wonderful for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Cell reception is non existent on the lake but there is a land-line in the house. Love feeding the ducks each morning. Can't go a day without seeing deer. Head over to beaver Bay for great swimming and hiking trails!

Nice place to visit

A floating home stay was a unique experience, but enjoyable. Not surprisingly, the home has a few quirks - master bedroom takes some getting used to if you're tall - but easy access to the water, great views, quiet and more makes it worth it in our opinion. The welcome gift and other small personal touches/amenities was also very much appreciated.

Went with a group of six! Fit us all very comfortably! Excellent spot, not to far away from Silverwood theme park. Would definitely recommend! will be coming back (:

Our stay was so relaxing. Bayview is a hidden gem. We enjoyed using our kayaks and paddle boards on this beautiful underused lake. The community is laid back and we felt very safe. We did not even lock our doors. There were 4 different restaurants in this small town. So if you want to eat out, you don't feel like cooking. I will definitely go back. I would like to make this a yearly vacation

What a perfect holiday! We spent two days at Silverwood theme park and the float house was a great place to wind down. The atmosphere of the house and area was an added bonus. We were able to cook our own meals as the kitchen is fully equipped with all your cooking needs. The house was well stocked with little extras as well! The top deck is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the evenings. There is great fishing for the whole family as well. Overall it was a great stay with any services you need only a short drive away! Thanks Vacasa for a great family holiday!!

If you want to stay in an establishment that is not fire safe, then stay here. The location was good. That is about the only good thing I can say about our stay. Captains Wheel is a good place to eat and great Wi-Fi. None at the residence.
Manager Response:
We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to see that you did not enjoy your stay. The Property Manager will perform an inspection to make sure the home is adhering to safety codes. We are glad to see that you enjoyed the location and hope you were comfortable in the home.

It's not often that you can have the experience of renting a floating home and have the ability to park your boat next to the house. The house itself had a unique floor plan, but it worked out. Be aware the Scenic Bay Marina will charge you $35.00 a day to moor your boat. There is no where to park a boat trailer during your stay. The marina charged us an additional $30.00 to store our trailer, which was about a mile out of town, so loading was a problem on our last day and then had to find a place to park the truck and trailer the night before we left. We ended up having to park overnight on a city street, so had to worry about being towed or vandalism. The town of Bayview is a little run down and poor quality restaurants, which are more like bars, which is a problem if you have younger children. If your looking to simply boat and spend time on the lake you'll be okay and the price is fair to rent this place.

We have traveled to Bayview for the past 8 years to have an old fashioned Fourth of July. This year was no different. The float house was nice. The dock was perfect for using as a diving board and a lounge area. The house was nice inside withe comfortable beds and typical cabin furnishings. The kitchen was adequately stocked with the nescesities. The back porch was lovely allowing for a beautiful view of the sunset and fireworks. The upstairs bedroom is quit separate from the downstairs bedroom. I only mention this because if you travel with small children you should note they would be pretty far from you. The upstairs bedroom was air conditioned. The only negatives about the home are that there is no washer or dryer access, currently there is a spider and hornet problem (I assume that will be taken care of) and all boat owners should note that you must rent the dock space in front of the house for $50/night during the summer months. This is standard for float homes but useful info all the same.
Manager Response:
We apologize for the spider and hornet problem that was happening during your stay and will do our best to eradicate the pests as soon as possible. We are glad to see that you enjoyed the home!

This was the perfect place to relax with the family after spending the days at Silverwood Theme Park. We were able to enjoy quite evenings with beautiful sunsets and days with swimming and peaceful relaxation. Making our own meals saved money on our trip. This was a pleasant place to stay for our family. The upstairs bedroom had a strong cedar smell that did not bother my husband. We will go back.

Six of us spent three nights here, and, overall, we loved the experience and want to return for a longer stay. The surroundings are so peaceful and serene, surrounded by water and mountains, and the people can't be beat for friendliness. The floating homes are cute and highly individual. Some people live in their floating homes year around, others use them only as vacation homes. The area has an interesting history---try to learn something about it if you come. This float house isn't fancy, but it's comfy. Everybody slept well, even the two assigned the pull-out sofa. The upstairs bed and bath are paneled in cedar, and there is a strong cedar scent, which I personally find pleasant, but perhaps not everyone will. There are no windows in the upstairs bedroom/bath, but the AC relieved any sense of stuffiness and kept it at a comfortable temperature The upstairs deck is nice, and we were not bothered by insects. We cooked all of our own meals and found the kitchen adequately equipped with cookware and dishes. My husband has a T-mobile phone and had no reception, but other people in our party did not have a problem, and there is an available landline. We had computer reception through a modem, but there is no WiFi. That was not a problem for us, but if you need WiFi, Ralph's Coffeehouse has it nearby. We would definitely recommend this place, but perhaps the very fussy should stay away.
