Dog-friendly vintage cottage near bay & great for families!

This homey, dog-friendly, and quiet Lincoln City vacation rental sits close to the Siletz Bay and features easy access to the sandy shore! With all the comforts of home, plenty of space for six guests and two dogs, and a lovely location, you will want to return to this home again and again.

Perched on the very south end of Lincoln City, in a quiet residential area right next to the beautiful Siletz Bay, this home is a quick four-block walk from the sandy beach and gentle waters of the bay. You can park your boat in the driveway, no problem! (Please note this home has parking space for three vehicles, and no on-street parking is allowed.) On the south end of town are several wonderful restaurants, a fantastic golf resort, and easy beach access, so you won't need to go far to find fun here! This home is also quite close to the Siletz River, with boating docks and good fishing spots.

With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, this home has plenty of space for a family. This cottage has a very homey atmosphere, with a cozy living room and all the comforts that you are used to in your own house. Have a seat on the plush sofas in the living room and start a fire in the wood-burning stove, then turn on the TV and spend a rainy evening watching cable programming or one of the provided DVDs. While you're here you will also have WiFi access, board games, books, and a separate TV with a VCR and a selection of classic movies to watch, so nobody will be bored! If you have little ones to entertain, there's a selection of age-appropriate toys to choose from.

Just past the living room is a full kitchen, which is spacious and well-stocked with all the appliances and tools you may need to whip up tasty meals during your stay. There are even several fun extras, such as a blender, French press, and a waffle iron, so you might even be inspired to make a special breakfast complete with fruit smoothies, fresh coffee, and hot waffles.

The first of the three bedrooms has lovely French doors that open right up from the dining area, and inside you will find a queen-size bed and a crib so any very young guests can stay close to their parents. The second bedroom has a cozy queen bed, a TV with a built-in VCR, and doors that open up to the back deck area.

The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and an attached bathroom. This home has another full bathroom, accessible from the main living room, as well as a laundry area that will come in handy after a few days of playing on the beach. Altogether, with these three bedrooms, up to six guests will be very comfortable here. You're also welcome to bring up to two dogs with you- though a nightly fee per dog and minimum fee per stay will apply.

Outside, you will find a patio with a gas grill and an outdoor dining set for six, and a grassy yard where children and dogs can run around and play. While you're here you can even use the beach chairs, so feel free to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy on the nearby shore.

Because this home is so close to the bay, you can enjoy a different type of beach experience here. Walk the four short blocks up to the Josephine Young Memorial Park, which is the easiest way to access the sandy shore of the bay. If you've never been to a bay beach before, you're in for a treat! During high tide, the water will be gentle, and the sandy beach will be a great place to walk along and splash around the water. If you visit when it's low tide, you will find a vast expanse of sand to play on, and plenty of muddy areas that are perfect for clamming.

Take the little ones to a lovely park just a block and a half north of the home to stretch their legs, or play basketball with friends.

If you're up for a walk, you can reach several businesses within a short distance of this home. Freed Gallery, a small antique mall, the upscale Bay House restaurant, and the more casual Beach Dog Cafe are all along the nearby highway. You could also hop in the car and head south five minutes to the Salishan for a round of golf, some shopping, and a relaxing spa treatment. Just north, in the Taft area of Lincoln City, you will find easy beach access and many eateries.

Elsewhere in Lincoln City, you will surely find plenty to keep you busy. Check out the casino on the north end of town, peruse the souvenir shops that line Highway 101, visit the outlet mall, or simply spend an afternoon beachcombing along the miles of coastline in town. Restaurant options range from seafood to Thai to pizza (and everything in between), and for dessert you can get some saltwater taffy or fresh ice cream from one of the many souvenir shops. If you prefer to spend time appreciating the great outdoors, try kayaking or sailing on Devils Lake, fishing, crabbing, or hiking around the many nearby nature trails.

Lincoln City has much to offer visitors, though you could also take a short drive up or down the coast for a change of scenery. If you drive south, you will pass by Boiler Bay (a fantastic picnic area) on your way to Depoe Bay, a charming town with cute shops that is known as the whale-watching capital of the coast. There you can watch for whales right from the edge of town, though you may decide to go all-in and head out on a whale-watching boat. If you continue south another 20 minutes or so, you will reach Newport, which has a famous aquarium, plenty of restaurants, and much more to explore.

Whether you stay right here in Lincoln City, explore the coast, or seek out your own adventures, this comfortable, conveniently located, and dog-friendly Northern Oregon Coast vacation rental will ensure you have a wonderful stay!

This was a great house to enjoy a quite weekend away with our toddler and dog. The crib and highchair available for use made life so much easier! We will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future!

Although this was not our first choice, it ended up being a comfortable fit for our stay.

Great house! Great location! Walking distance to the bay beach and a super short drive to Mo’s and the ocean beach. We absolutely loved it!

The Bay Cottage was a great place to stay. All you need and more. Good size and beds are comfortable. I would stay again. The only three bad things about this place. 1. You can only have 6 people stay, when the city permit allows 9 max. 2. They don't allow pets, but they a lot of pet items throughout the house. 3. They said you can only have 6 people at the house at a time. We were planning a small (12 people), bbq for the wedding rehearsal dinner, but they said no more then 6 people.

The house was awsome and in a great area

Nicely sized bedrooms for a shorter stay, the master bed was extremely comfortable! Great to have a fully fenced yard for the dogs. Quick walk to beach access, very quiet neighborhood. Short drive to Newport for a fun day touring the town, enjoyed the Aquarium as well.

Very comfortable. Very homey

This home is ideal for those who want peace and quiet. The fenced in yard is great for your dog and there is everything in the house you could ever need. Beds are VERY comfortable. Close to bay (walkable) and Lincoln City is right there. Depot Bay is a short drive south. We had signed up for a home in Depot Bay and it was not as advertised. We were sent here and couldn't have been more pleased. We will definitely return next year. The people at Vacasa were quick to find us a good place and were very friendly. Can't say enough good about this charmer!

Cottage was very relaxing and charming. Plenty of room for the six of us that stayed. Had most amenities needed for cooking. Could sit and watch tv or play games with the family. The neighborhood was very quiet. Took nice walks to the bay.

Thank you so much for having a dog friendly home! It was so nice to be able to have our dog! Loved staying at Bay Cottage! Nice quiet neighborhood! Great fenced backyard! Cozy house! We hope to come back next year! Thanks again!

Nice, cozy home. It's more appropriately sized for a family of 5. It's a short walk to the beach and playground. The crib advertised is a drop down crib, which was disappointing. But for the price it was a good "home" for the weekend.

We had a blast staying at the Bay Cottage. This place is great for families with young children. They provide all the necessities: Highchair, stroller, crib, lots of toys, books, and movies. There is a small park right down the street. Everyone was very friendly and lots of people were out taking walks in the neighborhood with their dogs and/or children. We found lots of places to explore around the neighborhood: playground, several beach access points, a rhododendron forest with walking trails. We took the kids for a couple walks every day and found something new and fun each time.

We loved our stay in this cottage! There was six adults and three large dogs and we didn't fill crowded at all. The cottage is in a great location with easy access to Highway 101, which makes it easy to go exploring.
Seth H. Oct 2017
Our family loved this cottage. It is small, slightly outdated, but for the price and the amenities and great little touches the owners add, it is certainly one we will stay in again. They had toys for guest use (both for kids and dogs alike!). Location is wonderful and quiet.

We stayed 2 nights and 3 days at this house. It was amazingly clean and had everything you could think of. I thought I packed for everything, but I didn't. Had I know I could have actually packed less. I didn't have room for a high chair, stroller, toys and a crib, but they had all of that...and they are nice quality. The back yard is fenced and the kids loved playing back there. All in all this house is top on our list for rentals. It is cheaper than a hotel and even though it is not beach front, I would prefer it just because it is so comfortable and roomy. I can't find one thing I would change about this place :)!!!

My Family and I we had a good time these three days and we want to return back next year to the same place

Settled in a quiet neighborhood & just a short drive to areas that we enjoyed exploring, like Depot Bay, Newport & Linciln City.

Great place to stay. Our dogs loved it.
Amanda K. Jul 2017
This house is great for little kids, had toys and other things you would need for them. The location was perfect, 2 blocks from a park, and the bay. I would stay there again with my family.
Dahn D. Jul 2017
Let me start by saying that my family frequently stays in vacation rental homes. We pay the extra money to stay in a home versus a hotel for many reasons. Comfort, cleanliness, privacy etc. This home on the surface looked clean but the longer we were there, the more we saw. The housekeepers do a decent job at surface cleaning but with the lack of cleaning other areas such as moldings and chair backs etc over time have caused the home to have a very dirty feel. The profile stated that the home had 2 adult sized bikes to use but there were no bikes to be found. There were helmets but no bikes. When we called to ask the company about them we were just told that they did not see that in their profile and that the owners must have removed them? There are white patches throughout the house from patching holes etc. but were never finished and painted over with the beige color of the walls. There was a quite large pile of carpet scraps in the master bedroom closet from when the carpet had been replaced. The ceiling fan in one of the rooms was very off balance and made a lot of noise. The profile said that there were spices in the kitchen but there was nothing and no place that they would have been stored? This is a pet friendly home, which is what we look for since we have a dog... Our dog was in the back yard barking and the neighbor came over to tell us that he was barking for hours and that he cleaned for this company and knew the owner (as if this was to be held over our heads) If the home is offered to guests with dogs we should not be confronted by the housekeeper next door about them, very upsetting. Definately not like any other house we have rented in the past. On the upside, the master bedroom has a comfortable bed.
Manager response:
We appreciate receiving this review to work with. The cleanliness items will be addressed when we get the deep clean going after Labor Day. There are no longer bikes at this home; we apologize if this guest found old information. None of the next door neighbors for this home are employed by Vacasa, so we are unsure what was happening with this situation. The home is definitely pet friendly, and the neighbors have their own dogs, so this should not be an issue. The ceiling fan will be inspected and fixed as soon as we have a large enough opening between reservations. Thank you!

Perfect size for our family of five. Kids were thrilled. Very cozy and welcoming.
Michelle E. Apr 2017
Cutest little cottage ever. Don't let the word "little" fool you, very roomy inside and our kids as well as our "furry" kids (2 dogs) were made to feel welcome. There were even dog beds provided for their use! This cottage has a wonderful fenced in back yard that we all enjoyed. Close to the bay/beach and everything we like to do in Lincoln City. You won't be disappointed if you are looking for a beach cabin/cottage.
Emily A. Mar 2017
Nice for a family with small children due to the location to the park and the fact that there is a crib, highchair, toys, stroller and kid dishware in the home. Dated and damp- the house could use some major updates. The neighborhood is cramped and so doesn't lend to a retreat type feeling. The next door neighbors dogs barked at us every time we stepped outside. The house needs a deep clean!
Pros: We loved the bayfront for walks and it's only a couple blocks outside the door! There was soap and shampoo as well as the towels seemed fluffy and nice. We appreciated having a crib and kid stuff to pack light.

Had a great time definitely would stay again

Would not stay here, or recommend! Dissappointed pricey for what we got!

The cigarette smell - in the bedding, shower curtain, and towels - was so strong in the master bedroom we couldn't spend any time in there. It lingered in the rest of the house as well, but was the worst in the master. The bedroom with the crib, where we'd planned to put our 2-year-old, smelled like someone had been smoking weed in there. We just closed the door and stayed out of there for the rest of the trip. My guess is this was thanks to the people who stayed there right before us, because when I washed the towels they didn't smell like cigarettes anymore. But it was also obvious the cleaning people tried to mask the awful smell with some very poor air freshener and call it a day. Complaints about the smell to the company did not result in any help. They told us "we didn't smell it" when they were there earlier, and make no offer to bring some Febreeze or other help.

The deadbolt broke the first time we tried to leave the house, and the handle lock also did not work. The company could not get it fixed that night, so we slept in an unlocked house. The cleaning people also left the axe for chopping fire wood in the wood box on the floor of the living room, which my son found within minutes. Thankfully I was standing right there, but not the most kid-friendly situation!

The neighborhood is cute, and the beach nearby is not one I'd want to hang out at all day, but made for a few fun beach walks. Also appreciated the nearby playground. If the smell had been taken care of, I think we would have enjoyed this house quite a bit, but it really was a major disappointment. The grass in the backyard was also completely dead, so the backyard wasn't usable for play time. Thankfully the playground took care of that issue.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see that this stay was not as relaxing as we would have hoped. There is a new Property Manager for this home that will address these issues during her inspection of the unit.
Pilar R. Sep 2016
Cute cottage on the south side of Lincoln City. Perfect for a small group, ideally 6 or less. Very dog friendly house, with dog beds and toys.
JoLee S. Aug 2016
To the beach this is! "Far far from the madding crowd" tucked neatly into Siletz Bay, you won't care that this cute funky little unit doesn't have a water view. It is SOOOOOooo close to walk to. The bay; only 2 blocks. Quiet and in a friendly neighborhood of walkers. The back yard is wonderful whether for kids or dogs. This how is well equipped for toddlers & dogs. :)
Jordan M. Jun 2016
Nice location south of town. The bay beach wasn't very crowded even on a busy holiday weekend. Great for our dog with a fenced yard.
Darryl S. Apr 2016
At first glance, the home was smaller than I Had expected. This is a great house for people with babies and dogs. We loved the fenced back yard. We also enjoyed the fireplace.
Julian C. Jan 2016
overall I had a good experience, and the house was clean and well presented. Only thing negative to say is some of the lights were burnt out.
Josephine R. Sep 2015
Bay Cottage is roomy with comfortable seating. It also has a nice backyard for a dog. Kitchen was well equipped.
Rachelle H. Jul 2015
I felt so relaxed and at home here. Highly recommended
Steffanie G. Jul 2015
The whole experience with vacasa and the property management team was excellent, I appreciated the great customer service. Also the home was very clean and calming in decor. It was a great last minute trip.
Vicki P. Jun 2015
We really enjoyed our stay at the Bay Cottage. The location is off the beaten path, which makes for a very secluded beach. It's close to a park, and has all amenities needed. The beds are really comfortable, which says a lot coming from someone who normally sleeps on a Tempurpedic. Great house for those with small kids and dogs. Really homey.
Dora V. Mar 2015
Had a great time, the weather was great, this place was perfect for us and have already told some friends about it. Loved it. Thank you!
