We loved that this house was on a river and had kayaks that we were able to use! It was comfortable enough to fit 5 adults and 2 kids!

The Siletz river house gives you a beautiful view of the river. We saw a seal catch a salmon right from our window. There was also a family of otters and birds of many kinds from tiny hummingbirds to vultures. There were also several kinds of swallows. We were there in early May and it was very peaceful with very little river traffic. We stayed a week and had no neighbors until our last night. When the neighbors arrived they seemed nice but they were very close to the bedroom window.

The water toys included kayaks and paddle boards which we used extensively. We paddled out every day and saw amazing scenery, osprey, an eagle and a small herd of elk on a hillside. The river was running low and clear, great for kayaking, not so great for fishing. Also the owner hadn’t put the dock out yet so it was hard to get to the water. At low tide there was a small, muddy beach that you could scramble down to, at high tide we used the boat launch a short walk away to launch from.

There was a huge selection of board games to play so we never turned the tv on. The internet worked well, although occasionally slow. We had no cell service there, however there is a landline.

The house was beautifully decorated but older and a little quirky. There are many lovely things but a lack of space for your own stuff. The furnishings and beds were comfortable, the gas grill and washer and dryer worked well.

The house is about 15 minutes down a narrow road which turns to gravel about halfway there so it would be best to stock up before you come
