The area is beautiful and the home is pretty new. The home was clean, and it had the bare necessities. It wasn't very "homey," if that makes any sense. It was like a model home. It was beautifully decorated and there were plenty of towels, but it lacked a little warmth.
I could not get the front door to lock. To be fair, this could've been due to my own incompetence. There were no keys when we got there either, which I would not have minded if I could've figured out how to lock the front door. Lisa came and fixed it in the end, but I do believe it was jammed and wouldn't have locked for me without a key. I wasn't going to break it to find out though. We were able to get in through the garage, and that is probably what we would've done the rest of the time anyway. It was just uncomfortable sleeping there at night and leaving during the day when we weren't able to lock the door.
We were really looking forward to the hot tub. It took forever to warm up and would cool down really quickly. We didn't use the community pool or hot tub because they were closed.
Also, I don't know if this is mentioned anywhere- the main living space is on the 2nd floor and the bedrooms are on the 3rd floor. We were already familiar with Blackstone townhomes, so we knew what we were doing. Or so we thought. The beautiful high ceilings come at a cost. Those are long flights of stairs.
The top bunk mattress is a bit thick so the rail on that upper bunk would do nothing to stop a child from rolling off.
All of the cookware I needed was available in the kitchen. The stove and oven were great. It took me a minute to figure out the dishwasher.
Overall it was a great stay. It was really close to great biking and hiking.
