Fabulous, two story, dog-friendly oceanview beach house
With two full kitchens and three bedrooms, this two-story oceanview San Diego beach house is great home base for a large family or group of friends getaway of up to 10. It's even pet-friendly and welcomes up to two dogs!
Just a short walk from the beach, this lovely cottage offers ocean views from the top balcony. And from this great location on the edge of Mission Beach peninsula, you'll easily be able to experience everything from Sea World to learning to wakeboard in a short drive.
Especially vast for a beach house, this home offers the feeling of having two separate units between the two floors. Each level even has its own unique feel to it, and with all the comforts of home, you may never want to leave.
Downstairs has sort of an old-school, funky vibe, with hardwood floors and colorful tile. The living room, with its beautiful curved leather sofa, shag lime green rug beneath a wood coffee table, and a flatscreen TV, is a fun space. And when you're not lounging outside on the gorgeous front brick patio enjoying the sunny California climate or grilling up some burgers, this is the perfect place to relax.
Vibrant tile floors, the antique O'Keefe and Merritt oven, and the retro bench seat table add to the fun of cooking in this well stocked kitchen. Along with all the major appliances, you'll also have use of a blender, coffeemaker, toaster, and microwave.
Two comfortable bedrooms and one full bathroom with a tub/shower combination are situated on the first floor. There are two queen beds with bright and cheery green comforters.
A washer and dryer are located out in the garage for everyone's convenience, so no matter how long your stay, have peace of mind knowing you can pack light and always have clean clothes.
The stunning tile stairs give you a peek at the modern and luxurious feel of the upstairs. Plenty of natural light through the large windows show off the beamed vaulted ceilings, tile floors, granite countertops, and upscale furnishings.
A second living room is furnished with a dark futon, two modern leather chairs, a coffee table, and a flatscreen TV mounted above a gas fireplace. Play games across the coffee table, or stream a movie using the included WiFi.
Head through the sliding glass doors and onto the deck for a peek at the bay and a wonderful place to chat while enjoying the sunshine. There's even a gas grill for your use!
This updated kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and all the appliances and cookware the downstairs kitchen has. And the glass dining table gives space for up to four.
Down the short hallway is a full bathroom with incredible updates, like the tile countertop and the granite sink and tub. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and a futon set over beautiful wood floors. With the two futons and four beds, each of the 10 guests has a comfortable place to rest each night. You're also welcome to bring two dogs with you for an additional nightly fee.
Although most of your time here could easily be spent in your swimsuit playing in the sand and jumping over waves, San Diego has so much more to offer. Shop and dine at The Gaslamp Quarter and Seaport Village, located eight miles away. Spend a day (or many more!) at Sea World, a mere two and a half miles from this home.
Balboa Park houses museums, parks, playground, botanical gardens, and the famous San Diego Zoo. And Old Town San Diego is just six miles away and brings you back to times of dirt roads and small candy stores that make salt-water taffy right in front of you.
During your amazing family or friend beach retreat, make this charming Southern California vacation rental your home away from home.

Amazing location- right by the beach on the quieter side of Mission beach. The staff person at check in and check out was very nice. Good parts end there!
Only one indoor parking spot, outside spot is right outside the garage door. Absolutely no third parking spot unless it’s a bicycle. Old rickety furniture and fixtures! We had to wear socks or flip flops inside the house the entire time as the floors were gross. We had little kids, and were constantly washing them bec of how dirty everything was. Do not bring any crawling babies here. Even the rugs were old. The layout is very odd, as the only entrance into the garage is through one of the bedrooms so it’s very annoying.
The house was close to the beach and not far from our son’s place. I loved the shower upstairs, I loved how it rained on us, my daughters loved it also. Overall, we had a very nice visit at your place.
Plenty of space and everything we needed.
Blocks from Mission Beach and a 10-min walk to the Belmont Park Boardwalk area. We rented this house for a (10 person) trip and there was plenty of space for everyone. Only downside was that several of the upstairs lights (including the kitchen) were not working and there wasn't a dishwasher. But overall a great time!
The house has plenty of room and sleeping space. The upstairs kitchen has pretty much everything you need.
Perfect for two families. Upstairs can get a bit warm before evening. Stairs a little precarious for kids. Other than that, great home. Great location.
All BBQ burners not working correctly. Cetrtain doors didn’t lock in the house. Downstairs fridge doesn’t get cold and your food can go bad if left unnoticed. Also, bathrooms can use upgrading. Screen doors would be nice as well. Would have been nice to have been notified that the upstairs kitchen is the primary kitchen as that’s where most of the essential kitchen items were located.
great space, perfect location
We were in San Diego visiting family in the area. This home was perfect for everyone to hang out at. The two areas of living space and the multiple outdoor spaces were wonderful. The house is so close to the beach which was great for a trip with young teens. They loved the freedom that this provided. The only problem that we ran across was that we didn't know what to do about cleaning at the end of our trip. Hopefully what we did was appropriate. I.E. Towels in piles in bathrooms and linens left on beds. I could have called for that information, but we were on a dead run by the time we thought of it. We will definitely try to stay here again in the future.
Ideal location for beach and boardwalk.
Quiet area at night and very safe
Close to restaurants and small amusement park
House great for large group
We had a great time in Mission Beach and the Bali Beach House. Our group was made up of two families and we enjoyed the convenience of having two separate kitchens and living areas for each family. The upstairs living area has lots of natural light and a nice deck overlooking Brighton Place and a little bit of a view of the beach as well. The downstairs kitchen is fairly dated with a fridge that was noisy and not very cold and an antique oven which is cute but we couldn't get it to work. We did all of our cooking upstairs. The location in Mission Beach was great and it's a very short walk to the beach. We actually preferred the privacy of not being right on the beach/boardwalk. The south side of Mission Beach seems a bit quieter, which we liked, but it's also easy to walk to Belmont Park and some of the stores, restaurants and bars near there. We slept 10 people in this unit and still had one futon in the upstairs living area that didn't get used which was nice for early risers to have a place to go make coffee and hang out before the others woke up. The house had a few beach towels, some beach chairs, one boogie board, and a few other beach toys so that was nice. And the back door, outdoor shower was nice for removing sand before coming in the house. Overall, I would recommend the house especially if the downstairs fridge and oven get repaired or replaced. The colorful art work, comfortable and unique furnishings, and brightness of the upstairs area made that a fun place to hang out and enjoy our beach getaway.

This house is just steps from the beach and includes a beautiful upstairs patio to relax on in the mornings. The neighborhood is nice and there is so much in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.
The location of this home is amazing! You can see the beach from the upstairs balcony and are within walking distance to shops & restaurants. The inside of the home was very nice and all of the furniture was comfortable. We will stay here again when we return to San Diego!
The house isn't as nice as the pictures suggest. The location is better than it suggests. The house does have a "Bali" flair, but the way it was done is ... how can I put this? Cut-rate. It's as if just some homeowner with limited skills decided they wanted to present the house as an upscale Bali-themed rental, but didn't have actual remodeling skills, and did it all themselves. But, the house is comfortable, the location wonderful, and it IS pretty big. The downstairs was kind of stinky when we arrived, but we let it air out. The upstairs was very very hot (but we were there at the end of July, to be fair). No air conditioning, no fans except 1. the kitchen amenities were decent. To be fair, any house by the beach in PB is pretty beat up, this one was probably in better shape than most, but certainly wasn't "fresh". I'd stay there again, yup.
Cleaning crew really needs to pay pay more attention to the entire property.
Our stay was amazing. The home and surrounding area exceeded our expectations.
House is beautiful and we loved the Bali furnishings and set up. Beds comfortable. Perfect for the beach and surrounding site seeing. Will try to rent again next year as we found it worked out well for our family.
Our core group of friends stayed here recently for our wedding, and it acted as a central hub for family since they were all coming from out of town. The house is beautiful, very clean and in an amazing location! You could throw a rock to the beach! The patios upstairs and the two-levels of living room and kitchen made it very comfortable space-wise for everyone, not to mentioned it worked perfectly for us to prep wedding stuff downstairs with family while friends hung out upstairs. The bigger Market down the street has fantastic grill-ready food, most of it personally prepared by the clerk, Joe, who is super nice. Neighbors were cool and everyone we talked to at Vacasa were very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay at this place again!
Everything was as advertised. Great 2nd floor deck and ground floor patio. I would not hesitate to stay again. We had 6 people and plenty of room
My family had an amazing time. I rented the beach house and purchased San Diego Go Cards for Christmas. Grankids had soo much fun. Soo many great memories.....
Just steps away from Mission Beach, this beautiful home served as a great HQ for a handful of lifelong friends. There was enough room for 7 adults to sleep comfortably and the upstairs patio served as a great spot to eat breakfast and drink coffee. The master bathroom shower was very relaxing and we appreciated the garage so we had somewhere to park. Would stay here again!
The house is located in a very nice location that you can walk 2 minutes to the mission bay beach. The house is spacious with 6 guests. Garage is large comparing to other mission bay vacation homes. It has a nice front yard with BBQ, but the furniture is broken. Just wish they had a nice patio furniture so we can enjoy more of the outdoor BBQ. We had big storm, and one bedroom ceiling was leaking water, Megan responded very quickly to replace the bed sheet and move the bed out of the leaking area. We had a wonderful stay.
Home was plenty big for 8 adult guests and in a great, quiet location.
We rented this quite house for a low key bachelorette weekend. Spacious house for 8 girls to get ready. Views of the ocean from the upper patio. Super comfy beds and futons. We Uber'd to The Gaslamp for dinner one night and then to PB the next day for Brunch and some bar hopping. I'd rent this house again in a heartbeat.
Property was nice and affordable. It needs a little TLC but overall we had a good experience. Plenty of room, we had 4 adults and 6 teenagers. No issues of space.
This home is beautiful and inviting when first walking in. It is very close to the beach, and contains parking for THREE cars, which is a huge plus when parking can be difficult to find in the area at night. It's especially great for multiple families; the upstairs and downstairs provide a good separation when some folks want to rest and others want to talk. The balcony is a nice place to hang out. We're definitely looking here first whenever we are in the area again!
The beach is literally a 30 second walk and you can smell the ocean in the morning. Pretty much everything is within walking distance. Lots of space. We had 10 people (8 adults, 2 kids, 1 dog) in our group and still felt like we could fit more people. The two kitchens were really convenient because we didn't want to carry cases of water upstairs. The kitchens are fully stocked with all types of cooking utensils and dishware. We didn't know what to expect so we brought too much. Bring paper plates if you don't want to wash dishes. We loved the keyless entry because no one had to worry about being locked out or waiting for someone with a key. We used the grill and the fireplace and they worked seamlessly. There are three parking spots, which was extremely helpful because it was really hard finding street parking. Everyone in my group loved the place and we are already planning to book again for the summer.
We loved the house it got our party of 8 girls comfortably and having two floors and 2 kitchens was great! Quiet area so if you know your party is loud go up towards PB.
We had a wonderful stay at the house. Loved how breezy upstairs was with the balcony. Would definitely recommend.
I traveled to San Diego for a work retreat and I could not have asked for a better place to stay. The Bali Beach house was very clean, comfortable and provided numerous sleeping options. The house itself is just off the beach and has an ocean view when standing on the patio. 10/10 would recommend this house to anyone who is looking to spend a weekend at Mission Beach.
We loved the location and it is right by the beach with awesome view. Definitely would stay here again price was reasonable and fair.
Loved our family stay here. Three generations shared this lovely home. The two living rooms were great for allowing different groups to do what they wanted.
Would recommend bringing kitchen equipment if you want to do any serious cooking.
We just returned from 3 nights here. Great location on a beautiful beach. House is great. Could use a little more kid friendly items. Mainly plastic cups and dishes. Our small children had to use glasses and regular dishes. Otherwise it has everything you need for a beach relaxing time! We would go back!
Great house in a great location. Comfortably fit 2 adults, 8 teenagers, and a dog. 45 second walk to the beach on one side, and a couple minutes to the bay on the other. Great parking options and really friendly neighbors.
We take a annual trip to San Diego, I have stayed at The Big Kahuna and la Playa house this was by far the best. Plenty of room for 10.
Great value but not as nice as photos depicted. .Overall I was satisfied
Beautiful house in walking distance to the beach. Cheap and well worth our money. Would rent this place again when we return.
Had a great time and great local for the money! House was great few things need to be fixed but overall a great place. View from top balcony of the beach. Short walk to beach.
Great Place to relax and enjoy the Beach..
This place was a perfect weekend getaway
My family and I had a great stay in San Diego during spring break week. The location was perfect, away from all of the college partying in pacific beach and quiet enough for my family to enjoy our time outside, whether it be on the patio or at the beach.
The home was a great setup for my family of 4 and my mother/father in law. They took the upstairs while we had the downstairs. Very convenient to have two kitchens and two living areas. They also had a nice washer and dryer that we used several times during our stay. We did experience several small issues that made our stay a little less comfortable than it could have been. Hopefully most of these are addressed in the near future, but I will list them anyway so that they don't come as a surprise.
1) Lower microwave doesn't work 2) The lower fridge not working 3) Upstairs TV has a purple/green picture. 4) Turning on the heat makes it very hot upstairs while downstairs remains cold. 5) The wifi was in and out constantly, and the coverage is poor in the lower back of the house 6) No cell phone coverage in most of the house (AT&T) 7) Great natural lighting, poor artificial lighting 8) No dishwasher in either kitchen 9) Lower bathroom fan does not work
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this property. The location is excellent. The pacific is a 2 min walk away, and mission bay is just a couple minutes more in the other direction. And there is a lot of great entertainment, restaurants, etc within walking distance. The location is relatively quiet, and the house is perfect for a larger family. Despite the issues listed above (which I expect most will be addressed) I would still recommend this property
We are so happy that you enjoyed the home and the area. Thank you so much for letting us know about the maintenance issues. We are working with our property manager to take care of the issue you mentioned to make sure you dont experience them when you come stay with us again. Thank you again for staying with Vacasa.
overall a great unit with a fantastic location. It could use some additional beach amenities such as balls or games but the location cannot be beat. South Mission is quiet and still close to the action of PB if you want.
This is your typical mission beach house that requires updating to be up to modern standards. The owner only took the time to update the living space upstairs but if you have company, they will be spending time downstairs as well. Antiquated appliances may have their place, but not in a rental house. This rental is ideal only because of its location. If you want a beach house that feels more like a rustic mountain house, this is your place. Nice tall ceilings upstairs but the downstairs needs much love and attention.
This place was very clean and accommodated our family of 10 nicely. Very close to the beach and the bay. Parking was tight. There are 3 parking spots that will accommodate 3 compact vehicles. We had two SUV and a small car and had to find parking on the street because our SUV's did not fit in the parking spots. This is a great place to crash and enjoy family dinners after a day at the beach.
We were in San Diego for a grandson's graduation from Marine Corp basic. We are a LARGE family and almost everyone came for the party. We rented two other houses on the beach for the families with the most kids and used this house as a retreat for us (grandpa and grandma) and ones without little kids. It was a short 3 minute walk to the other house and all was very convenient for all our activities in SD. I loved the bungalow architecture of the house. All in all it is a great house.
Stay here if you want to save money and stay by the beach. It was so relaxing for our new Marine and our entire family (10 total). Beds and futons were very comfortable. We used the patio and grill a lot.
