Basic maintenance was missing. The electrical outlet in one bathroom did not work so hair drying was inconvenient. The fan in the same bathroom was extremely noisy but did not vent. The same bathroom was so humid, you had to wipe the mirror off after taking a shower and the bath towels would become damp and had to be put in the dryer numerous times to dry. The linens were shabby and the bath towels were cheap. Two trash liners provided for five days and minimal cleaning products, dishwashing tablets and laundry tablets. No tupperware or plastic storage provided. Furniture was old and damaged and deck was so crowded by large table, you had to rearrange chairs if someone came outside. Minor maintenance and upkeep would make this a much better unit.

The views from this condo are great; however, the condo itself is somewhat more like a condo at Myrtle Beach, not something that is expected at Kiawah. We stayed here last year and paint and drywall tape were falling from the ceiling, and the bathrooms were filthy. We had planned on staying at another condo, but it got sold in December and this was the only one available. They did paint the ceiling and put in all new fiberglass showers, very bare bones and not something you would expect for the price of this place. Also, all the shower diverters are backwards (turn towards cold and you get hot and vise versa). We had a total of 5 light bulbs that were out in the halls and bathrooms. Toilets weren’t very clean (could see rings around bowl). Put in a request for light bulbs and new air filter and it took 2 days to get a response from the “dedicated” number that is monitored by Vacasa. Overall, great views, but the place is subpar and so is Vacasa. Never had any issues when it was Wyndham. Our family is done with Vacasa. Already rented from another vacation rental place for later this year and next year. Shockingly the the place for next year is only $50 cheaper than the rental rate of this unit for a week, yet it’s almost $500 cheaper because they don’t have the obnoxious fees Vacasa charges.

Until this property is updated and repaired we cannot recommend renting it...
Light bulbs out, walls have holes in them, plaster falling off ceiling and many other things.
Read closely as well, there is no WiFi or cable at this property.

This is a fantastic location for direct private beach access in the heart of Kiawah Island. My family also enjoyed the views from the condo's multiple outdoor balconies. However, our overall experience was tainted due to several reasons. First, the cleaning lady was still there when we arrived at 4:18 pm (our check in was supposed to be 4 pm) and she did not leave until around 6 pm. Second, the ceiling has a variety of cracks, leaks and peeling paint that is in serious need of repair. Third, the wifi did not work, even though the check-in email provided me with a wifi network name and password to use. I emailed Vacasa with my concerns the day after checking in and they said they had sent my email to their local office, but I still haven't heard anything. Based on this, I would probably not return to stay in this condo or another Vacasa property.

This condo has great views of the beach; however, there is severe deferred maintenance on the unit. Last time we stayed here was probably 7-8 years ago and it looks rough. Paint/drywall tape has fallen off the ceiling in multiple rooms, holes in the walls, electrical outlet falling out of the exterior on the patio, lots of light fixtures with water damage around them, and I wouldn’t go in the master shower without shower shoes. First time renting with Vacasa, they talk about all these clean procedures, but we got to the unit with the keys in the door and the overall cleanliness was subpar. While I blame the owner for his lack of improvements to the property, things such as changing the air Filter on the HVAC system weren’t done. There were air filters in the closet, yet the filter on the HVAC had about 1/2 in of dust on it. We ended up changing it ourselves. Also, this unit does not have WiFi, we had to steal it from another unit. Overall, I’m not sure who should be more embarrassed, the owner or Vacasa for listing the property with all the issues and potential hazards that this unit has.

Our family loves Kiawah and has stayed in various properties on the island. This was by far the best location for beach access, Night Heron pool proximity and three awesome patios! Negatives included musty smell in master bed carpet and lots of peeling paint. After some interior improvements, we’d definitely stay here again.

Lovely views, good quality furniture, accessibility of beach, and cleanliness of condo would have made it a 4 or 5 star rating. Some negatives brought the overall experience down - abysmal internet speed via Verizon cell instead of cable, quite a number of nonworking window blinds, some rotting window sills in master BR, peeling and mold around fan in master BA, broken porch chairs, and other maintenance issues in the queen BR and BA.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at this home, but are sorry for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay. This issue occurred under a previous management company. Our local teams are working with that company to learn from feedback and fix any issues. We just started managing this unit and would love for you to try staying with Vacasa in the future to experience our world-class service.
