The house was conveniently located to train station, Buck's Livery, and the Million Dollar Highway.

Location is hard to beat, and the space is inviting, but it’s not in great shape. It’s fine, but don’t have high expectations. The hot tub is shady, I wouldn’t use it unless it’s better maintained. The patio has some hazards that need to be addressed. The backyard is beautiful and it’s really fun to watch the steam train out front.

We absolutely loved this cabin! Close to everything easy access clean and well maintained. Will be back again!

The house was nice and clean, would rent from again..

Don't get me wrong the view from the front patio is beautiful, bet definitely will be staying somewhere else next year. Several windows didn't work currently. Shower has standing water from the last shower every time. Dirty hot tub, paper said its cleaned often...but I'm not so sure. Dust EVERYWHERE sinks, light fixtures some table tops. Entire bottom floor smelt of mold.We are from Texas so it would have been helpful in the house description to know there was no a/c only a 3 fans in the whole house, one that didn't even work. No tv in master bedroom even though one is showed in the picture. Would not recommend this house to anyone.
We apologize for our guest's experience at this home. It's an older home, but we're taking every step we can to make sure it's clean and ready for guests. We've recently deep cleaned behind furniture, kitchen, and inside cabinets. There is no A/C, and it's typically not necessary as we're in the mountains and it cools down significantly at night. The home can be kept cool by keeping windows open in the evening and closed, with shades down, during the day. We've repaired the window cranks, curtain rods, and we have a hot tub technician that services the tub weekly and more frequently as needed. Thanks!

This house is just adequate. We did not spend a lot of time there so it suited our purpose but would not stay there again. Not very well stocked. We ran out of towels. There were no knives that would slice steak we were getting ready to grill. Even had hard time with a cucumber. The glasses were small plastic ones like you get in a kids meal. Had problems with the cable TV. Would not recommend this as a place to stay if you would be spending much time in house
We apologize for this guest's experience with the home. We will be sure the home is well stocked so guests have all the amenities they need during their stay. There are now adequate kitchen items including sharpened knives and new drinking glasses. We've also inspected appliances like the TV to see that it is working properly, and we've recently repaired the window cranks as well. Thank you!

Spacious home for eight adults and six children. Each couple had their own room and the cousins all got to sleep over together in the bunk room. They had a great time! Nice large kitchen with lots of eating space. We put both tables together and everyone could eat together. You normally can't get that in a house.

We had our entire family, our 6 adult kids and their families including grandkids on this trip so the 5 bedrooms, spacious kitchen, dining, and living room areas were great for gatherings. We did have a smaller 2nd house down the road along with this one. The hot tub was popular. The setting was quiet with great views. The owners appear to have neglected long term maintenance somewhat but the rental agency was responsive when contacted.

House was spacious! Great Location to Durango!

The house was very spacious and comfortable. It was tucked away in a quiet area north of town. Relaxing on the balcony enjoying the night sky and stars was spectacular, during the daytime the views were lovely. The kids took advantage of the hot tub out back and they also enjoyed games on the lawn.
The kitchen had everything we needed aside from a couple of small things- trash can liners, and paper towels.
We did have to call and request propane for the grill Saturday morning, after waiting about 4-5 hours and no propane. We called again, they put in another order and the guy arrived 30 minutes later. So no big deal dinner was only slightly delayed. The house can use some updates but overall clean and accommodating for our families. We would definitely return.

The spot is nice an convenient to durango.

Really enjoyed the house. Less than 30 minutes to the ski resort and 10 minutes to downtown. Great location and well worth the price.

Stayed at this house with 6 other people, and we had an amazing time. Plenty of room for everyone. The house was in great condition, and the location was perfect for our trip. I would highly recommend staying here

Amazing place for a great girls weekend! Super clean and the hot tub was the best :)
Shawnna W.Jul 2017
Very comfortable place, nice view. We liked being out of town, but not too far! Furniture is comfy, kitchen is well equipped. Plenty of towels for a large group. No air conditioner if your here in summer, but there are fans in the rooms. Needs a few repairs to open windows, but overall very nice.
The property manager has ordered new window cranks so guests can get the windows open as soon those parts come in. Thank you!

The home was in a very ideal location--close to shops, but not too close. Many amenities and attractions were close by, such as Purgatory Resort, Rafting Outfitters for the Animas River, the Train Station, Lakes, Bar D Chuckwagon, etc. Our party of 15 had a wonderful stay--including elderly, younger children and teenagers alike. I loved how the kitchen had everything one could need, including a large refrigerator. They had thoughtfully equipped the house with a baby crib, high chair, extra air mattresses, towels, sheets, etc. In other vacation homes we have stayed in, it seemed like we would receive the bare minimum--not here!

Enjoyed our stay. The house was plenty big and comfortable for our family of 14. A few issues, bring your own pillows (theirs were flat), mattress on some beds should be replaced and bring fans,. no A/C. Downstairs shower has smelly issues. We also had a bear issue, getting into the trash. Keep an eye on kids and do not leave any food outdoors or windows opened, could attract the bear. Plus side, lots to do in the area and the house living areas and back yard was nice and comfortable. If they take care of the issues, would stay again.

We had a great family time! One thing I would recommend is to have first aid kit, you might of but just notice one around. Also to have firewood on hand, but we did go by some and left some for next family. Oh yes, what was hardship was the construction going on across the street, kids couldn't take their naps, was very hard from them to sleep, plus pulling out you really need to be careful, almost got into traffic accident.

Great renovations but needs updating on the outside.

Great place... ????

This cabin is in a convenient location to town. Neighbors are nearby so it's not very isolated. There are 5 bedrooms, but 4 of them are very small. "Basement" shower is tiny and there is a smell after someone has showered. The kitchen, dining area, and back patio were nice.

Thank you Vacasa! We had a great time staying in Durango. We really enjoyed the size of the home, the hot tub, the location and the common areas such as the kitchen, dining area, the yard and the family rooms. Everyone had a great time.
Anne & Bill D.Jul 2016
We had a family vacation and this house accommodated us very well. Plenty of room to eat together, play games, relax outside. The bed upstairs was very comfortable. It was close to town and the Animas.

The trip to Durango was wonderful. The view from the front deck of the property was stunning. The unit was clean and well maintained. We arrived during a heatwave and had to use several fans since there was no air conditioning in this unit. This property is close to town, but not too close. The community pool is fun for all ages, a visit to the Bar D Chuckwagon is and must as is the train to Silverton. The views of the river and mountains from the train are breathtaking!
The most enjoyable thing we did was visit the fish hatchery and museum. The ranger had great stories and lots of information. The kids also liked feeding the fish! We had a great week!

This house is the perfect size for a large group. We did a family gathering here with 13 people and the house did not feel crowded at all. There was room for everyone. There were a few issues that needed to be taken care of when we first arrived. But Alex was extremely responsive and took care of them right away. He was great to work with!

This is a great place for several families to share. The kitchen and dining areas are large enough for family home-cooked meals. It was comfortable, roomy and clean and location was very quiet. We very much enjoyed our stay here!

First time to the Purg. Usually ski Utah . Loved the mountain, the town of Durango and the overall area.
House was very clean but certainly not new . Needed more hangers and a couple of bedrooms really needed a chest of drawers. Beds pretty good.
Baths are a little weird as one is not very tall and one is a tub with a hand held nozzle like you find in Europe. Still , our party of eight guys found the house fit our needs very well and we would stay there again. Kitchen was well stocked, wifi worked well , it is only 3/4 miles to Durango and about 1/2 hour to the ski resort. Texas Bar B que is right down the road and is EXCELLENT. Steamworks is a brew house with very good food and local beer. Overall we loved the trip and it compares well with other trips. While we are hardcore powder skiers and while Purgatory does not lend itself to great powder skiing , we thought the groomed blues and black runs were some of the best we had ever skied and we are a very experienced group. Went to Wolf creek one day and were not impressed . Groomed runs are flat and short and the powder was hard and chopped up. If the resort had fresh snow it had potential to be an excellent glade skiing mountain. . The nice drive took about 2 hours on good roads and we saw a lot of game including many deer and elk.
Loved Purgatory resort!

This house works great for families! The location couldn't have been better! The house is located right in between the skiing resort and downtown which was awesome. The house was super clean and spacious and I would definitely stay there again. Many of my family members stated they would stay again and recommend to others.

Overall, the house is nice and it is a great fit for a big family.

Great location, very spacious, would defiantly come back. Stayed three nights, drive up from Santa Fe.

The stay in Durango was fantastic, with much credit going to Vacasa. We were accommodated for everything we needed in the house. The location was perfect to experience beautiful mountain views and quiet, but close enough to get to town or the grocery store if needed. We had several children and the space in the home gave us plenty of room to spread out and accommodate 4 families. We have made it a goal to come and stay every year!
